a side from Wlad and Peter there is nothing there ! the division is weak and needs some mustard at the top ! the fucking politics of boxing are holding David back.. he already leveled Maskeav and Ruiz
Ruiz is a permanent resident a top of the heavyweight food chain, yet has looked like shit for years ! It's time David gets his opportunity to reclaim his position as a top dog thats all O0

I am a big fan of Tua and I also think he deserves to be fighting top 5 guys right now.I can't believe Boxrec has him rated 43rd.He should be fighting Brock or Harrison, someone who has been in the media spotlight recently.I mean Hawkins is ranked 89th by Boxrec, what does this fight acomplish for him?Hawkins has a lot more to gain than Tua does.I don't understand the management decisions made for him in the past and it only seems to be getting worse. :(

Tell me about it ! the powers at hand are preventing the big match up at this time. He can't get one in the bag ! so activity is the key.. fighting often as possible in order to keep the weight manageable and getting the fan base involved ! demanding the match-ups ! .. ! Wouldn't put tooooo much emphasis on BoxRec ratings they change from one day to another...... At one point I saw them list SRR at #5 all time Welters then a few months later /now they have him at #3 Middleweights of all time.... ???
They've kepted John Ruiz as Lords Gym pointed out in the top 10 Heavys. (#5) eventhough hes fought to a NC (which he lost) and 2 back to back loses.
But James Toney loses 2 fights and he drops to #17 you tell me.....

Tua showed agaisnt Lewis that he DOES NOT have what it takes to be in with top super heavies. Not even close.
He too short, Too slow now, Not near buzy enough.
He will NEVER regain the top form that was still miles short of the tall super stars in the div.
He will be..

Out Smarted
Out jabbed.
Out cold.
Out of the picture
Out of Boxing.

Yea I think you may be right.. He was exciting to watch for a few rounds but in several of his bigger fights he just plodded being steadily outboxed and finally got the big shot in.. Against top HW's right now he may not be able to land that big shot, or last long enough to. If I were him I'd just go for the weakest champs as a final goal, either fight Valuev or Briggs.. He could win those fights if he got in shape.

Tua? / Briggs? hmm maybe if Shannon has another Asthma attack
Tua / Valuev ? 5'3 vs 7'3" LOL that would be funny!
Tua couldn't reach Valuev's chin if he stood on James Toney's shoulders!

In an interview they asked his manager how tall he is and he said
"7' 3 1/2"......but we say 7' cuz we don't want to scare people"
Im not all done on Tua yet..
BUT he was a volume power puncher and that style is hard to maintain as you age. esp with layoffs etc.
IF he can get it back or even be able to rock like the "TUA MAN" of old
for a few rounds?
it will prove interesting and he always has a chance to pound out a KO against any top HW.

Tua WAS a phenom when he fought Ibeabuchi. That was one of the best slug-fests that I've ever seen, but I thought Tua edged out Ike and should have gotten the nod. I have the tape and watched it over a dozen times.
I'm also a HUGE Tua fan! I just wish that he could drop some weight and get a good trainer. He's still young enough and might have a couple of years left in him.

C.C. back, Lords Gym. With the state of the HW division as it stands today, it's certainly not inconceivable that Tua can grab one of the titles. I would love to see a match-up with him and Peter. That would be a barn-burner while it lasted.
