HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Looking forward to this and i hope Audley wins but i just got a gut feeling that Sprott will put him on his back and win ;)
Reason im saying that is because Sprott has fought and done well against taller opponents in the past but if Audley can get his Jab off early and fire in the Killer uppercuts he caught Williams so well with then he wins and wins early to mid fight.
All Hinges on whether Audley can get a ryhthm going early and take the centre of the ring.
Last chance surely for Audley.

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
I'm convinced Sprott will put up a much better fight than Williams did last time, and if Audley does a number on him that'll be impressive in my book, problem is i reckon it'll be a dull fight...wouldn't be surprised if Sprott is "robbed"
That Katsidis fella's meant to be a bit good isn't he? If that's the case then Earl's gonna get a hiding

I'm wondering is this Katsidis just a shit hot banger? Only seen highlights of him and Earl's form is much better. Bookies aint priced it up yet...

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Man, this will be a good night's boxing, unfortunately I'll be Sky+'ing the early fights on ITV4 cause I'll be elsewhere, but I can't wait to see Harrison put down by Sprott. To be honest, I don't think Harrison has been in with the same class of fighters that Sprott has, and I expect it to be much much closer than Sprott's 11/2 suggests. Indeed, I will be putting my money where my mouth is with some cash on Sprott.
Chagaev, Vidoz, Virchis, Skelton, Williams, Corrie Sanders (early in his career). Sprott has plenty of experience and his record just reflects the quality he's been in with, as opposed to Harrison who can count Danny Williams and Dominic Guinn as the only decent fighters he's ever stepped through the ropes with.
(I can already hear the words 'I told you so' echoing in the back of my head)

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Rocky can definetly bang, he had a very impressive KO victory over Ranee Ganoy who punches like a heavyweight, one of the hardest unknowns in this division, he has put an aussie champ to sleep with his viciouse rights, most thought he was another record padding opponent however he soon showed people otherwise via his victorys over not one but two australian champs, he defeated MicK Shaw by KO and defeated Allan Luxford via a viciouse overhand right and knocked him out cold.
If Earl stands any chance he should NOT underestimate Rocky otherwise he will wake up in a Hospital wondering wtf happen :D
Thanks for the ITV times, great forums.

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
I think Sprott has a good chance also, you're right Rhun his odds are a bit long, but im not a gambling guy, though I picked him to win by a split in the predictions thing. Saw one of his fights in Germany on eurosport where he got screwed against a taller guy, he looked pretty decent that night, and has been in with better fighters than Audley, should be a close fight.

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Earl should be more concern about Katsidis (Rocky) then Khan. Katsidis is a tone better then Khan, i honestly feel that Earl has underestimated Katsidis & will get KTFO!

No disrespect to those Aussie fighters but that just highlights how much better Earls form is.
Reckon Katsidis looks the safest bet though, especially early
Bookies have them both a shade odds on.

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Earl looked terrible last time out. The fella he fought was a hard nut but technically dreadfull and Earl looked all at sea. I can see him getting hammered to be honest.
-
Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
That's what I initially thought. Not that Earls chinny but I expect this guys better and hits much harder than Kevin Bennett who had Earl in bad trouble ... But I can't get away from Earls win over Romanov (I probably overrate Romonaov, and he was rusty) plus the likes of Steve Murray was a banger too
Do you think Earl will fight Khan down the road even if he gets battered? After a couple of easy comeback wins?

Even though this is the WBO Interim Title Frietas is expected to vacate so this is basically for the real thing..
How about the winner faces Arthur later in the year? :-\

Khan faces next test
Amir Khan continues his boxing education against Frenchman Mohammed Medjadji on Saturday at Wembley Arena.
His opponent was stopped in six rounds by Kevin Mitchell, another British prospect, on his last visit to London.
Medjadji has won 17 of his 20 fights but, with only three of those victories coming inside the distance, he does not appear to have the punching power to knock British boxing's hottest young prospect off course.
Khan, insisting he will not throw caution to the wind to achieve a quicker win than Mitchell, said: "I won't go in there thinking I'll knock him out. I'll just do my job, box him and if I do catch him with a good shot then I'll try and stop him."
Former British and Commonwealth lightweight champion Graham Earl promises "the fight of the night" against Australian puncher Michael Katsidis for the WBO interim world title.
The winner will be installed as world champion without throwing another punch if holder Acelino Freitas, who retired and then announced a comeback, fails to commit to a defence within 90 days.
Unbeaten Katsidis has a fearsome reputation - 19 of his 21 wins have come inside the distance, six in the first round - but the credentials of some of his opponents are obscure.
Earl, 28, from Luton admits: "I've struggled for motivation now and again. I've had a long career - 10 years - and should have been here a long time ago.
"It's going to be a great fight and I'm ready to be world champion."

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Weigh in latest
Harrison will have a 22lb weight advantage over Sprott. He scaled 18st 2lb at today's weigh-in, with Sprott, who is also four inches shorter at 6ft 1in, coming in at 16st 8lb.

What you saying mate?
Are you trying to tell me that someone somewhere is praying to some kind of god that Graham Earl comes through an absolute grueller, then gets upgraded to full champion, then goes through the motions for 12 months knocking over two or three tomotoe cans third on the bill, then gets made a 'secure you and your family for life' offer to fight Amir Khan?
I never heard of such a thing.

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Forget Earl, trust me on this one guys, he will NOT get past Katsidis.

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
I rekon if Audley plays it safe and shows that buring desire to want to win the fight like he did against DW, I think we can see another easy stoppage here. He looked dangerous against DW but i tell you what if he switches off he will get punished against Sprott. I know Sprott will be up for this one but i can really see a good stoppage on the cards for Audley tonight. It's make or break and if he loses tonight i think its game over!

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
OMG! that was a strange night of boxing. Audley should retire he wasnt using that jab at all and Sprott did get lucky. was a good punch though. i was really suprised when i saw it. i was thinking it was going to be a stoppage in 7th? maybe.
the Earl fight was amazing. round 2 was the best round of the year so far! Earl and Khan should be a good match up me thinks ;D
Khan did well...wat can you say really?

Re: HARRISON v SPROTT, KHAN and EARL live on ITV1 & 4 17/2/07
Audley got nailed cold,Khan lokked superb and he is visibly bigger and stronger and is starting to properly plant his feet and deliver with purpose instead of throwing blurring crowd pleasing flurries.
Earl and Katsidis produced something special for me.
What a belter of a fight that was 8)
Don't see where Audrey can go from here ???
Thinking he may get a shot at the Sprott v Skelton loser ;)
