A great lineup of boxing this weekend..............

With two fight cards, one in the US and one in the UK I reckon this could be the best boxing weekend of the year so far.

I'm looking forward to seeing Paulie Malignaggi make his return but the show stealer, at least in the US is going to be Powell vs Ishe Smith.

How do you guys see this one going?

Sechew is probably the stronger of the two but he lacks skills and I've got a feeling that Ishe will rise to the occasion and box Powell's head off for a wide UD.

But if Sechew catches Smith what then?

Berto takes on Contender 2 star Bravo in what should be a pretty entertaining beat down. I reckon it will go about 4 or 5 rounds but I'd like to see Bravo do well.



Over here in the UK I reckon we are going to have the fight of the night when Graham Earl takes on Katsidis. Katsidis boast an almost 100% KO record and is unbeaten whilst Earl sometimes chooses to block punches with his face so this one is just set up to be a slug fest.

I really reckon this could be one of the best British fights of the year, can't wait for it.

Audrey is fighting Sprott, an opponent who is probably better than most give credit for, but he still needs to get him out early to build on the Williams win a couple months back.

Finally Amir is up against some unbeaten 7-0 I have never heard of. Probably a routine KO but it doesn't matter, if Earl beats Katsidis we will more than likely be seeing Earl vs Khan in 2008 for the WBO world title.

All in all a great weekend in prospect!

Hope so but Sprotts done well in the past against much bigger fighters ;)

If Earl beats Katsidis FW has hit the jackpot with the WBO belt.

I think Sprott cleaned Audley's clock in sparring in 2000 when Audley 1st turned pro because Sprott had to sign secrecy papers which prevent him from talking about what happened in that session.

All have done Audley in the gym. Fact.

Man I feel for Bravo. Bundrage (who has the most potential of any of the contender guys imo) and now he has to take on Berto? Rough.

Audley should crush this Sprott guy. He should. I've come never to expect anything from Audley. Hell I think he'd be apprehensive to crush an ant if it crossed his path on the street. But for some reason I think he KO's Sprott. And I'm fairly sure of it. Still am not going to watch it though even if I had the oppurtunity. Maybe to put me to sleep...

The Cherry - Malignaggi fight could be very good. Malignaggi, as much as I hate him, doesn't have an ounce of quit in him. And Cherry is one of the more exciting fighters out there.

Powell is one of the most pure boxers in the division. Smith isn't so bad himself. But I think Powell wins by decision.

I don't know, I'll go with Malignaggi UD, Berto TKO mid to late rounds, and not really sure about Powell-Smith. Odd style matchup in a way, not much to seperate the two in my opinion. Maybe Smith by decision, Powell seems a bit unsure of himself, or at least more so than Ishe.

Katsidis was on and off due to the fact that he was due up for a WBO Interim fight.
Since the WBO hadn't assigned a fighter for him to face, he was gonna fight on FNF weeks ago (some warm up fight just to keep busy) but then the WBO announced he was gonna face some Martin or Martins guy.... Then they said no.... So he was back on FNF, then the WBO said hes to fight Earl... ???
So thats where were at now.... Go figure...

I think Powell is gonna show up and win this fight by 4 rds. or so.... Ishes fought once in 2005, twice in 2006 and really hasn't shown me much as of late... Powells been in there with a champ.... hack it I said so myself weeks before the fight it was too much too soon for Powell to face Ouma but hey!! it happened he fought OK but looked really outclassed.....
