Another Contender goes for a title shot. (Mora/Taylor)
I have known this for about 3 days but I could not say anything but now I can ;D
Sergio Mora and Jermain Taylor will be fighting.
There is still no mention of Date/Location.
Sergio turned down 300.000 the first time. He wanted more money and he got it.
So, it is signed, sealed and it shall be delivered.
April 21st is the talked about date.

i wish i had the full fight,but what i saw of the contender highlights i had it for smith.........but who really knows the produces edit the fight anyway they like,for eg mora throws a punch smith slips it and they put in a punch sound effect ???...............the last time i checked a swing and a miss doesent make a sound.....................so sorry cant help you there

Ishe said he could accept losing one point either way(like the first two scorecards) he can't except one judge having all the rounds for Mora.

Actually the boxing4real guys announced this fight a month ago, April I believe. ;D
I reckon Sergio will do much better than expected. If Taylor gets the stoppage it will be through cuts, but I actually fancy Sergio to go the distance with him and drop a very close decision.
You guys may think I'm crazy but I reckon Sergio has skills. He's quick, throws volume punches, fights well off the ropes and can cope with adversity.
All the ingredients to give Taylor nightmares in my opinion.
Taylor couldn't knock out 154 lb Kasim Ouma and by his own admission ran out of gas in the last couple rounds. He was almost beaten by Wright who battered his face up and closed his eye over.
Sergio will shock Taylor and go the full 12 rounds losing a decision no wider than 116-112 maybe closer.
In fact I give him a live chance of pulling this off.

i think taylor will knock him out. i actually think taylor is a very underrated fighter and the step up in class will be a bit to much for mora who leaves his hands too low and relies on his reflexes too much. taylor TKO in 5

How much did he get?? $300,000 sounds low for a fight against Taylor, especially when he has the Contender name behind him.

I don't necessarily see the KO coming. From what I understand Mora gave Taylor all he could handle at Olympic Trials. From what I'm told, Manfredo fought Taylor as an amatuer, and most ringside observers had Manfredo winning, but Taylor eked out a close one. Taylor has come light years since then, but so has Mora.
I think Taylor wins via comfortable decision (most likely), or late round stoppage (less likely).

Mora is nothing special...at all. Taylor must really want a KO to be fighting this undeserving prick, and I think he'll get one. Taylor by KO.

I think this will be another one of those fights that is closer than what the score cards will reflect. As much as I dislike Mora, he is awkward enough to give fighters problems. My only question will be if he can take Taylor's power, Mora has never been hit by anybody with Taylor's power. But it will be Taylor by UD, dont think they will allow him to lose by a decision.

Actually I reckon that Archak Turmeliksetian dude probably punched harder than Taylor, although he's nowhere near Taylor in terms of skill or ability.

I could be wrong but I think you guys are underestimating Mora's chin. That said I think he takes a beating for 12 rounds and loses a UD or maybe the fight gets stopped from the massive facial damage that Mora will incur.

Although I predict a Taylor win, I wonder how all of us will react if Mora wins, moreso if by knock out. Will we blame it on Taylor and his conditioning (or worse that he took a dive), or give Mora his props? Unfortunately for Mora and Taylor, it will be a no-win situation for both of them. If Taylor wins, it is to be expected and if he loses, they will blame it on reasons previously specified.

Mora gets to fight Taylor
Manfredo gets to fight Calzaghe
Steve Forbes gets to fight D-Hop
These are all ridiculous fights.

Not sure who gave out the information that Taylor Mora was a close fight in the Olympics. Anyone that saw it could tell you that. Taylor whooped Mora 12-3 at the 2000 Olympic trials.
I'd hope that Taylor would kick the shit out of him...but I aint 100% sure that that's going to happen.

Mora is a cocky punk who doesn't even belong in the top 10. I don't think HBO's golden boy Taylor has anything to worry bout.
