ok...... I just finished watchig the fight....... a few thoughts...
1. WOW!! :o what a fight that was, early candidate for FOTY (Considering I haven't seen Johanson-Burns)
2. Theres a few things I didn't like that Kats did. From the opening bell you coul tell that Kats was there for one reason and one reason only. To KO Earl, not a good idea IMO. Kats didn't fight his fight instead he went for the kill from the start. Kats took punches that he normally wouldn't have his defense is sooo much better then that. I think would he have fought his fight he still would have stopped Earl but it would have happened in the later rds.
3. Earl has some whiskers on him he can take a punch.... But I will say that the fight shouldn't have gone past the 4th. Yes Earl was throwing back it the punches were on instinct.
4. Why were they using pillows for gloves? ??? Anyonw know?
5. Can't remember who said that Kats wen't down due to the distraction of the towel, NOT TRUE the towel had already been removed and both never stoped throwing punches Kats just got hit with a solid right hand... Which like I said he should have been....
All in all, I hope now that he knows hes going into a title match he comes in more calm and fights his fight instead of rushing in there like a bull....
I didn't think Kats glove touched the canvas either and Mr Vann (REF) did a lot of favours for earl imo early on ;)
Excellent tear-up though.

Great fight. That ref gave really let this fight become a great fight so, even thought he clearly favored Earl, he didn't jump the gun like so many refs often do. cc no. 1111 Mick awesome five rounds.......also I don't see Katsidis doing too well against guys like Diaz or Barrios(though i would love to see this one)

I agree, Kats ain't ready for World Class just yet but he better prepare himself really well cause hes almost there I mean this fight was for Interim so that means his next fight could be against Freitas, which IMO he aint ready for......
He should have at least 1 or 2 more fights before stepping up to Freitas.
He ain't ready for Casamayor either...
I do think Kats can beat both of the Diazs, I really do. Diaz 'The Baby Bull' has work rate BUT thats it. I aint seen him improve much in his past fight. The only difference I see now is that hes putting punches together/combos....
I also think he can face 'Kid Diamond' Raymkulov and yeah! I think Kats can win that fight to, so to me those are options his management should take a look at before stepping up to Freitas.....
That was cool when the ref threw the towel out, I didnt know that the corner cant stop the fight over there in U.K. , is that only in Commonwealth fights or for any fights in U.K. ?
