Casamayor could of fought Diaz and kept his title. But what would be the point? Diaz is a mediocre fighter at best. Fighting him would be a waste of every bodies time. It's total mismatch. Casamayor knows that. So being the true warrior that he is, he looks for a more challenging fight. The WBC obviously didn't like it. So fuck them. Let them take their belt back. Casamayor is the Ring magazine Lightweight champion. He don't need the WBC. More fighters should follow Casamayor lead by looking for bigger fights than the ones there organization wants them to fight.

The WBC was supposed to be a unifacation organization in boxing...now it's just another alphabet organization. How long has Jose Suliman been at the helm? He's running things to the ground.

I guess I should be outraged but its not really shocking.

Either way, he's the accepted best guy in the division, and he can probably still get fights. The division kinda sucks though, Casamayor's the best but how much longer is he gonna be around. Freitas is flaky, you don't know if he's gonna keep fighting or not. The list of champions sucks, the only one with any real potential is Juan Diaz and he refuses to fight anybody.

The boxers all need to ban together and shut these alphabet organizations down. They serve absolute no purpose and are just leechers in the boxers pockets. Rankings awarded to whoever is willing to pay the highest sanctioning fees, stripping true champions, these organizations need to be shut down for good. All boxers should refuse to pay sanctioning fees, throw the belts into the nearest trash receptacle, and form a union.
