how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
i am still undecided about a prediction for the delahoya vs mayweather fight. i'm still saying a decision, but which way i dunno yet.
anyway if mayweather does lose the fight i wonder how he will handle it. he is undefeated and had a very sucessful amateur career so i dont think he knows how to lose really and generally behaves well when a decision is anounced. but after watching his antics and bad mouthing over the years and in todays press conference it is evident to me that he is some what lacking the class that i like in a fighter. oscar is a class act and i think will deal with another loss well. however i can just see mayweather having a little paddy about it because of his childishness.

-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
it will be a massive dent to his ego but if he loses i think it could make a better person humble him a little sorry again i dont know i give a few opinions and im the most hated man on the site

Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
Well he's already talking about a ODLH rematch in a recent interview which worries me.
I think if he loses, he'll probably go the rematch route if it's on the table. Although it'll be very tempting for Oscar to retire after a defeat over Mayweather.
Sad to say that I think Floyd will plunge into a major catasrophic decline if he loses. Almost a Naz-esque plunge.
If he doesn't get the rematch with Oscar I think he'll go on to win a couple unspirited matches with little fanfare.
He's one of those guys that, mostly through his own attitude and actions, has built up this invincible persona. And whenever these types of guys loses (like Naz or Tyson) it affects them a lot more than a fighter who's faced adversity earlier on in their career.
This fight is do or die for Floyd.

Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
thats true Tyson and Naz did'nt take it well good point ;D
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
He'l cry like a biatch...then he will thank his sponsors and claim he's a warrior.
But he won't lose so he'l be ok. ;)
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
to be honest he is quite reslectful of fighters once he has beat em. like after the gatti fight he said that arturo was a warrior and he only said all of his trash talk bollocks to sell tickets. but i think it could be a different story if he loses. but i supose it all depends how he loses.
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
He will cry and whine line a biatch to no end.....Just as much as he annoys people with his constant self parise he will triple it with excuses...It will be everyone elses fault but Floyds....
Hell he will probably even blame Vinnie Paz for not timing his coffee right....
anyone remember the time Floyd said he wanted to fight Wright and Hopkins...
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
This is a great question it depends what sort of person he really is behind that persona. If he as a true fighters grit to lick his wounds then get back to it or just fade away see we have fighters like Barrera who was unbeatable the next mexican legend then he lost to junior jones twice but he went back to the drawing board and cameback better for it. Even after the pacman loss he just sucked it up then cameback again. But then you have the fighter like Naseem Hamed a world beater on his way to being a british boxing legend unbeaten then he loses to Barrera and fades away he just did'nt know how to handle it
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
He cried when he doesnt perform to his own standards like when he said he wanted to make Carlos wave teh white flag , instead Floyd was unhappy he did it on points and was visibly upset . Losing to Oscar would be a massive setback and a huge dent to his ego
Lets be realistic though , thats not guna happen is it . Floyd is the creme de la crem of boxing and filthy rich records is where its at ;)
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
He won't accept it.....doesn't mean it won't have happened but he won't accept it.
He'll accuse people of 'hating on him' and accuse the judges of robbing him of his greatness.....even if he's sparked unconscious, he'll find someone else to blame.
He takes all the glory for the wins but it takes a big man to accept responsibility for defeats and he's not a big man
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
He'll want an imeddiate rematch there an then, best of three, if he loses that it'll be best of five an so on an so on.......
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
If he looses a decision, I bet he acts like James Toney after the last Peter fight: Insist that he was robbed.
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
He'd probably cry like a baby!
Could be another James Butler sucker punch! ;D
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
Probably cry a little and say "I made so much money I dont care" and "Larry, your old and your hair is grey" then he runs out of the venue with a girlie run tripping up half way.
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
I think it's very difficult to predict how an undefeated fighter will handle their first loss. You just can't tell until it actually happens.
There have been fighters who I thought would handle a loss well, and they didn't. And conversely, there have been fighters who I thought would be sore losers, and instead they handled a loss with dignity.
You just have to wait and see.

Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
Hes probaby already written a list of excuses
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
He'll blame it on the weight...
"only someone as great as me can come all the way up from 130, 108 if you count my amateur days, and take on someone like the great oscar de la hoya, only me baby and I knew coming in that it was going to be my toughest fight but not even my tremendous skills can overcome such a huge weight disadvantage. I did this for the fans. Filthy rich records in the house, even though noone can name any of my artist they're still in the house. pretty boy floyd still the best of the best and that's it..oh I forgot Larry merchant don't know nothing about boxing"

Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
I don't think he will lose to Oscar but IF he did, there would be a rematch and he'd win, then there would be a third match and???

he will pretend he was robbed...
and he will scream about that, but i GUARANTEE that he will begin crying while he is pretending to be a badass

Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
Honestly...I have no idea how he'll react to a loss.
I go back & forth on who's gonna win this one & how...so there's no way in hell I could predict emotionally how Floyd will react.
One thing about it...Floyd is just that EMOTIONAL! In winning he get's his pannies over his head & let's the dam burst wide open. I am sure that in a loss he'll be just as up in the air.
There again...it all depends on how he loses. If he fights his ass off & is robbed then he will show his ass...as would any fighter when the stakes are this high.
Truthfully...I want Floyd to win...even though I am an Oscar fan...there's only so much more that you can get from Oscar...the sky could be the limit on Floyd if he wins.
But I don't think that he'd handle a loss well at the time...as far as him rebounding? He'd do fine, IWO.

I agree. I think that would size be his excuse, and it would be pretty legit. My hope would be, if he loses, that he drops back down and takes care of business at against Cotto, Hatton, etc, instead of starting a trilogy with Oscar. Unfortunately, if he loses, I think we can expect at least one more vs Oscar.

Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
Floyd has said he would fight De la Hoya at 160lbs and still beat him up.So if he loses he shouldnt say anything about the weight.
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
Well Hey conversely, How will Delahoya react if he loses?? He was ripped S*** walking down the hallway after the Trinidad fight.... Even when he was pissed his voice sounded like Enrique Elasias singing "Let me be your hero" :-X
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
If he is knocked out there should be no excuses, but im sure some would be forthcoming. I dont see Floyd losing though
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
he will be a gutted grandma
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
To all of the Mayweather haters...what is going to be your excuse when Mayweathers hand is raised at the end of the fight?
Oh DLH was past his prime...he was old...he didnt jab enough...etc..
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
I think he'll put his tail between his legs, take it quietly on TV then the excuses will come out in the press hours afterwards on the internet. There's a good chance he'll retire, but I think he'll want revenge and come over to Manchester for fat boy. Hope so.
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
That is a good question. I think he will make up a good excuse like hurting his shoulder or something. He will say he hurt his hand and never accept that he was beat. The only way he can be beat where he cannot say much is it Oscar knocks him out like Hearns knocked out Duran. But I am not sure Oscar can do that. That takes a mucher faster fighter with alot of power.
-
Re: how do you think mayweather will handle it if he loses?
i will be very suprised if he takes it with some class and doesnt make a fuss. but we may never know if he carries on winning.
