:(
Ruslan is going to have to stop him..
No way he'll get a decision in germany imo.. Either stop him or embarrass him..
Ruslan might well do it too!.. I never thought that val even legitimately beat ruiz.. But chagaev did it better ...So im hoping its a real watchable fight..
I still love Chagaev for beating Ruiz !!!!!Quote:

Chagaev has definately earned this fight though.

I wanted to get in first to steal his thunder! :PQuote:

Should be a corker, or at least we need it to be to revitalise the division.
.....I hope he cracks Valuev right upside his giant head and sends him toppling to the canvas!
I hate Nicolay Valuev with every fiber of my being!!!
Chagaev is a bum. AND I COULD STILL SEE HIM K VALUEV TFO
Who wants to talk about Ruslan Chagaev..and this other guy...what's his name Nielava Lakavev? some ukrainian no doubt, never heard of him.....
hahaQuote:

Yes its a crap division, but it's not like America is contributing too much at the moment except venues and wannabes.

Ruslan is a very good boxer, everyone knows it, that's why most of the boxers try to avoid him.
Unfortunately, I'm wondering what kind of tactic he could use to beat Valuev...I mean he's so big and so tall it's hard to put pressure on him :-)
anyway, Ruslan has some power in both hands, he could crack Valuev for sure who was hurt against non puncher style fighters...it's perhaps the only thing to do, try to fight inside and rock him since valuev likes to fight and trade he could rocck him badly...
wait a minute, am I saying to fight inside agasint a 7' tall 350 pounds guy ? :-))))))
CC for the info. This one will be a good one to watch. At least Valuev is upping his opposition and i respect him for that. I think it will be competitve but i can see Valuev coming through being the winner. Im happy with the big man for taking this fight.
Yes Chagaev as good record unbeaten in 22 with 17 ko's but who against he's only 6ft 1 inch can't see him doing well at all another mismatch
Agreed. Chagaev isnt going to be the one to topple Valuev. Valuev should be having a unification bout before too long, he cannot keep fighting these opponents who really havent quite got the ability to rise to the occasion...Quote:

If its against Wlad, you are right on the money. But Briggs and Maskaev?? They wouldnt beat him, no.Quote:

Personally I don't think his 49 th fight will be against anything other than a tomato can, and a dented shop reject one at that.
You know Don King will be moving heaven hell and earth to make him beat Marciano's record. :-X
I would just like to point out that as that mentioned tomato can, I am offended at suggestions of dents. Indeed, I will be going into this bout with a pro record of 0-0, so another undefeated opponent for Valuev. Indeed, I am also working on my eating, to try an break the record for the heaviest ever fight for a title!Quote:

Its bollocks though because Marciano was a complete champion in that the division was not a fractured mess then. Valuev has a belt and has fought nobody.Quote:

Totally agree ;)Quote:

I agree completely! Valuev should not be compared to Marciano. The old time fighters for the most part were part time plugs. guys who had no real training ,amateur background or full time commitment.Quote:

Lennox Lewis would take ever top heavyweight from 1930 to 1960 and beat all ten of then on the same night.
Never mind what Valuev would do to them.
Take a look at this graph its Olympic high jump world records...takes skill speed training technique sort of like Boxing? huh?
Please note that the QUALIFYING height required for the 2004 Olympics games was 2.3 meters.
You had to have hit 2.30 meters in a sanctioned qualifying event to be allowed to attend the Olympics.
Prior to 1955 the world record was 2.10 meters. Not even the best high jumper in the world PRIOR to 1980 would even QUALIFY to compete in 2004, never mind 2008 never mind against a physical anomaly like
NICOLAI VALUEV. Old vs new......forget about it!
Landmine, you're an idiot.....there I've said it
Yawn...you bore me....Quote:

Your love for Valuev would be ok if that waste of space fought anyone who meant anything in the division but he doesn't and he never will and your love for him does nothing but annoy everyone here.
Landmine was the bodybuilder pictures you
We'll we will see..Quote:

Hey in all honesty (don't tell anyone) I know the guy has some big issues.
as always the story is potential and what COULD be. Excuses are something losers always need to make up.
If I'm right? then what?
Make a statement.....Chagaev/Valuev.......
Ruslan was all this and that not long ago....is he still?
has he suddenly turned to dog sh1t now that he's against Valuev?
For sure if Valuev beats him everyone will say "well that just proves that Chagaev was WAYYY overrated"
speak up? I have! buy some balls on sale somewhere!
People now on the forum are saying probably he could beat Maskaev.
maybe Briggs if Briggs can't get him early.
General opinion seems that Vitali or Wlad take him out.
So he's now what?? 3rd best in the world??? maybe those people need to recall what they said about him a year or so ago.
His biggest problem? he doest want to be a giant!
He doesn't want to be "the beast from the east" too bad.
he doesn't have that mentality..
he wants to be appreciated for his "skill" and "ability" ....fag.
I know! I have a huge monster kid! he's 12 years old and is 5'9" and 235lbs! hes not fat! he's huge and strong and REALLY fast!
BUT! he doesn't want to hurt anyone or be seen as having an unfair advantage..its weird...the thing every others small kid wants he has and feels like he shouldn't use it somehow....maybe that's part of why I picked Valuev as a project. I dunno..
I didn't say anything bad about Chagaev....he's one of the better fighters your giant has fought.
Valuev doesn't use power because he doesn't have any of it.....he just has mass and hell he's got 325 behind his power shots and he still doesn't KO people like a POWER PUNCHER. But for AS BIG as Valuev is he's very coordinated.....I don't rate him as an all-time great or anything close to that thought
My issue with Valuev is that everyone thinks he's a top rated heavyweight and he flat out refuses to fight any big time heavyweights....no Briggs, no Maskaev, no Klitschko's, no Sam Peter, no Calvin Brock......Chagaev is a step in the right direction though.
I'm not going to comment on your son, it is not my place to do that. But it is good you have a kid you are proud of and that's all I will say.
Aggression in sports is learned, it's hard and I think wrong to teach it....I learned killer instinct on my own but I was still a happy go lucky kid I smiled when I did my damage.
Thank you for a good post...you were starting to worry me..Quote:

thats not the case! everyone said he was a joke a fraud a freak a sideshow etc etc.. I didn't and thats why I supported him. I think he's pretty damn good and getting better and COULD become REALLY f3cking good!
Give him time! he'll eventually have to sink or swim!
I just hope that if he fights a Klitschko or other TOP,Top guy that that doesn't then make people who said he was total sh1t say "see I told you!" that will bug me no end!
As a comparison..what has Chagaev done?
Compare HIS record to Valuev's? ppleeaaasseeee!?
It'sliek his size works against him like he's SUPPOSED to destroy everyone and anything less is proof that hes crap.....I don't get it.
PS he openly challenged both Klitschkos and they did not reply!

Nikolai Valuev has said that he wants to break Rocky Marciano's record for an undefeated Heavyweight champion at 49-0. He stated " My goal is to break that record...but if Klitschko will fight me now then I am ready"
and
Boxen.com: The whole boxing world is hoping to see the Valuev - Klitschko fight. Do you want to fight against him?
Valuev: I have said it many times before: If Wladimir wants to get it on, then I am ready at the drop of a hat. But at the moment, all I am thinking about is McCline. Then we will see what the mandatory defense brings. If I manage it, then we can think about Klitschko. That would definitely be a stern test for me and I would be proud to win it.
Boxen.com: Where should such a fight take place?
Valuev: Preferably on neutral territory.
Chagaev doesn't have 40+ fights as a pro heavyweight......that enough for you??? He fought a legitimate contender with average power before his 30th pro fight in John Ruiz.
Ruslan has already tested himself...Valuev still has questions to be answered.
They both have never fought POWER punchers.
Chagaev tested himself? against who? Ruiz? Sprott?
He's done nothing!
I will be dissapointed if it isn't an easy or clear win for Valuev.
VERY dissapointed.
Ruslan is a small HW with good skills thats all.
If Valuev can't beat him easily.....things don't look good for his chances at dominating the division (even not taking the klitschkos into account)
It took Valuev HOW LONG to fight John Ruiz????
You're not making a good case for your boy!
