Its a difficult fight for MAB and all credit to him for taking this on at this stage in his career. Barrera has every chance of winning this bout IMO....

This is going to be a great fight.
Neither man has faced anything like the other...but I'll give the edge to Marquez based solely on the fact that he's got the better style & can adapt to just about anything that crosses his path lately.
Barrera's on the down side of his career as far as his physicality & I think that he'll be back on the backfoot with Marquez a pretty good bit in this fight.
That's a place where Barrera has limited success.

Agreed and JMM even at this stage in his career,has been more willing to come forward but can still fight on the backfoot and counter beautifully whereas I don't think MAB can fight effectively on the front foot anymore. I favour JMM. I hope we see a mixture of technical skills and war too!!

I think this fight is so hard to call, both on form is hard enough, but im not certain barrera has declined as much as people think, call it a fools hope if u want but i think my boy will do this, i wasnt overly imrpessed with JMM in the jaxa fight, ye she done well yes he stopped him, but he was more than httable and barrera is deadly when he wants be.
I still gotta go for marco taking this out, just counting the days go by untill this mega match! always hard to see past your al time fav fighter i guess?

yes, it could generate cash but not as much as a mab-pac2 encounter which doesn't need to be hyped as much as a jmm-pac2 bout, in terms of pay-per-view.

I duno about that . A fading Morales convincingly beat Pac in the 1st fight and in terms of excitement Marquez is nowhere near Pacs level but thats juts my opinion . :-\

This is the fight i am most excited for this year. No one is wooping anyone in this fight. It is going to be a very close decision...but i think Barrera will have just enough to pull it out. It seems like some people love to underestimate Barrera...and that only motivates him to shine. Marquez is a superb fighter...but he will be facing an entirely different challenge in Marco. Should be a great fight

Ive noticed that too . Some people cant wait to jump on the bandwagon but Barreras still the champ after all these tough fights . They wrote him off after Jnr Jones and then he comes back to beat Nas who was undefeated. Then he took Eriks zero . The wrote him off after Pac but he beat Erik again . He went onto unify and defend the world title . Now he is supposed to be ready for the taking again ? I could understand if Marquez had ever beaten anyone of any note but he hasnt . Marquez has only mixed in teh elite league once and he had a draw.. Barrera has been at the highest level all his career winning superfights so I cant see why Marquez will sudenly become a great fighter for 1 night only .
Marquez has been a decent champ at featherweight but who has he beaten that suggests he can beat Barrera? Barrera will have to grow old over night or perform well below his best if Marquez is to triumph here

I still feel like some people don't give Barrera enough credit for his last two matches against Juarez. In the first fight Marco had to readjust and focus on fighting Juarez after he had been preparing to go up in weight to fight Chavez. He gutted out that first fight and showed his heart. In the second fight he put on a boxing clinic and showed what a master he is at adapting from fight to fight. Say what you want about Juarez...but he is a young, very strong and accurate puncher. Marco fought him once and gave the younger fighter a rematch immediately. Barrera is a great champion. But his fight with Marquez will be as difficult a challenge as he has ever faced. Marquez might not have the same resume as Marco...but there is no questioning he has tremendous skill and against Pac he showed tremendous heart. This should be a great fight.

I love JMM, I respect him and I think he's an incredible fighter, but that voice in the back of my head tells me Barrera will win this, by hook or by crook. He's a more natural 130lber, and he's as schooled as JMM, if not as quick or as high an output, but what he lacks in that field is matched by a wealth of top level experience that is greater than JMM's. Also, he's faught in that spotlight more times, and he is coming off an incredibly dominant and impressive victory, taming the bull in Rocky Juarez, I imagine his confidence going into the JMM fight is at an all time high. If Barrera can get on the inside and work his left hook I think he can win. But will it be an upset with JMM in the form he is in? Maybe. Either way I'm looking forward to a good fight. I hope my boy wins, but if JMM wins, it's time to pass on the buck.
