Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
Why the fwook are all these old fighters coming back? Klit,Lewis,Holyfield,Mesi,Morrison,McCall etc etc!
The news of a Lewis return was initially broken by UK news outlet "Daily Mail." The paper conducted an interview with promoter Frank Warren, who revealed that he was told by Top Rank president Bob Arum, that Lewis was making moves for a return to the ring to fight Klitschko.
Warren says that Arum told him - "Lennox has been discussing with his pals at HBO the prospect of a one-off world title re-match with Klitschko."
Warren says that he is making plans to stage the bout between late September and early November, in Wembley Stadium. Lewis stands to make $25 million for the fight.

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
I respect Lewis for staying out of retirement. It shows a dignity.
What if he comes back and loses??? Let's be honest...he didn't have it all his own way in their first bout!
Stay out of retirement Lennox...retire at the top! O0

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
just seen it on sky news. please dont do it Lennox. If you come back and lose you will lose some of your legacy. had he fought Klitschko in an immediate rematch he would of KOd vitali. four years would of passed now and I wouldnt be as certain now

I hope this doesnt happen too. A rematch and Lennox would have won, but its been a long time. Im not sure how I feel about this, Lennox always seemed to have his head screwed on....

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
Money aside (although it would be a lot) Lennox has nothing to gain from this fight and I hope he stays retired. Hes already beaten Vitali once to do it again now after they've both been retired for a while seems pointless. I see why Vitalis coming back because he never wanted to quit he just needed to let his injuries heal. But Lewis retired at the right time, on top with no one left to beat. Why come back now when theres still no one worthwhile for him to fight?

How many times have we heard this though ?! I remember just a couple years back , it was all over the papers that Lennox was coming back and nothing ever came of it . Its just hype and people making things up . Until I hear it from Lewis himself , I wont believe it . The guy is far too smart

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
I don't care too much about lewis who is too old and completely out of shape but for peter Samuel, who should again step aside apparently.

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
Since the dawn of boxing great fighters have fought on to long fighting past it bums untill a young buck has come along and dethroned a great who is a shadow of their former self, fighters have retired undeafeted, or on winning streaks to later come back out and get beat...
Few months ago (on the can ;D) i give it some serious thought as to why they do this and i could only come up with 2 conclusions.
1. Money! Joe louis had to do it coz of the Us gov fucking him over with taxes, he had no choice, fighters like hopkins who don't need the money, will never need to fight for money again love the green to much and can't say no to it.
2. 'Closer' I think this is something lewis and some others have. Double LL went out a winner, then undisputed HW champ, when you leave as the best, i can only asume there is always going to be something inside you that is still laying dormant, wondering Do i still have what it takes? Can i still do it again? I asume most if not all of us by now have seen the Rocky Balboa film and like he says in there, the beast was still awake. Guys like lewis who are at an age where they can still fight would ever be able to be at peace untill they get soundly beaten no questions asked, or come back one last time whoop the best and walk away smiling.
just my thougts...

I think its because the Klit brothers ,Lewis, Holyfield , even Maskeav ect. are the most exciting Heavyweights today. the lack of basic fundamentals in this younger generation , has hurt the division and quite honestly boxing needs these old guys in order too keep some type of interest in the division. its just the way it is.. Sam Peter is about the only new fighter that can capture the imagination of the fight fan, everyone else seems flat in the area of excitement. a HW division without excitement is fuck all. O0

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
What in the hell are these old farts thinking....couple days ago it was Pipen wanting to compete with the young boys(Barkley told him if you could not hang with them right before you retired, what makes you think you can now you fool!!). Same goes to Lewis....Klitschko will kill him...I tell these old foggies, just because you were good in the past, does not mean you will now. To Lewis stick with trying to be an announcer, your terrible at it.....

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
Didn't Vitali say he would only come back if he could fight Lenox? does VK know something?
-
Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
41 is a far leap from 37. The inactivity doesnt help. I think Vitali would beat him but he shouldnt think of it as an accomplishment at this point, but i believe he would. Sad fight for oxing

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
rust shouldn't be too much of a problem the guy forgets more about boxing after a fat joint than Vitali Klitschko could ever know! Nah what matter is what sort of shape he can get into for his age. If he has a good camp with lots of tough sparring then who knows.
Its still just a rumour though, keep yer trousers on for now.

Re: Lennox Lewis Planning Return Against Klitschko?
If he would have granted Vitali a rematch right away like he said he was, that fight might have been a little more competetive but now Vitali would really beat him.Hope it happens. ;D
