Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
Can anyone tell me what they think will happen IF Floyd beats ODLH as far as next opponent is concerned ? Personally I would like to see him take on Cotto and then Mosely. But will he stay at Light-Middle ? Would this weight be too big for him to stay at ? Any opinions would be appreciated.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
I fully expect Mayweather to drop back down to 147 right after the DLH fight, win or lose. I think the jump to 154 is a one-time deal.
147 is a more natural weight for him, and 147 provides the most big-name opponents who he can make the most money fighting.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
I rather not say what I think Floyd will do if he lost to ODLH.
But hopefully he does not kill himself or start using drugs or go into a deep depression. I just hope he goes away or makes some funny records and videos about how great he thinks he is. Filthy Biatch Records is what it is.
He can run around on gansta rap videos with a pink toy gun and pretend to be a thug again. Then his daddy will get angry at him for hanging around with gansta rappers and Jr. will throw his daddy out of the house like he did before, for the same reason.
;D
But, let's say he won. He might as well stick around and fightCorey Spinks then come down and most likely skip the WW and fight Hatton.
It's hard to say what will happen. I guess we will have to wait until then.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
I think Mayweather should move back down. He will still have time to defend his title, and by then Mosley, Judah or Cotto, Margaritto or Williams will all be ready to face him by then. If he really is reckless he could go down to 140 and destroy Pacquaio if he could keep his stamina.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
Another point I would like to make is that Mayweather can't go back down right away. Like going up in weight you have to gradually work the weight off or else you end up like Tarver or Roy Jones Jr. did. It becomes so hard to make weight that you lose all your power and footspeed.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
most likely hes goin back down to 147 for mosely (cotto isnt gonna be anybody after judah exposes him ;)) but i wouldnt rule out the possibility of a 154 unification bout with cory spinks

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
After he beats DLH...I'd bet that he'll go over to England to fight Hatton. As for all of you mentioning margo,spinks...get real.Floyd would make it look like the Baldomir fight.I'd like Mosley vs Cotto...and then the winner take PBF.As for all of you Margo fans...I'd like to see him get in the ring with Andre Berto.

I like the sound of Berto/Margarito.
I only mentioned Corey Spinks because I was thinking along the same lines that Taeth was. If PBF wins convincingly against ODLH, why not go after Spinks. He is at the weight and will give his body more time to adjust and avoid any further shock factors his body might still be going through. Get another trinket for the photo shot while he is at it and fool more people into thinking how great he is.
The next logical thing to do would be to move down to 147, like Taeth mentioned it will not be so hard on his body. I would like to see PBF stay at 147 and try and clean house. Some one already said this is where the money is and we know Floyd has said, "If it makes money, it makes sense".
I am hoping Oscar ends Floyd's madness. This might push Floyd into early retirement ;D

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
going "back down" to 147 wouldn't be hard on his body at all. he's said he expects to weigh 152 against Oscar. He's obviously not going to drying himself out at all for the weigh in. There are plenty of guys (most, probably) who show up at above 152 at Welter.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
I agree DannyG...But Spinks lost to Zab...and floyd dominated him.

Yes but this is Floyd Mayweather Jr's. M.O. He has gone after the following types of fighters:
1.- Old
2.- Soft hitters
3.- Already defeated by some one else.
Why should Floyd change his M.O now?

It could be still. He has put on all this weight so quickly, and stays in such phenomenal shape that he will be cut at 152, and he would have to lose 5 pounds of muscle which may be alot for his frame because he will not have anything else to lose.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
Danny G...floyds M.O.
1.- Old
2.- Soft hitters
3.- Already defeated by some one else.
well according to you...
1.rules out DLH
2.Everyone talked about how hard Gatti and Baldo hit
3.rules out mosley,margo,etc...
that leaves Cotto and Hatton according to you/

The bums? In short..
Didnt ODLH destroy Gatti in 5 rounds like five years before Floyd beat Gatti in 7?
Who ever said that Baldo hit hard? He has like 50 fights with 10 ko's.
Yes rules out Mosley and Tony but just for the hell of it, I would like to see Tony and Floyd fight since Floyd is afraid of Tony. The Tony/Floyd thing had Floyd all bent, stuttering and crying in public talking about retiring after his fight with Oscar. I have to see what it is, that makes Floyd so afraid of this guy.
But to end what you boiled down, yes! Cotto and Hatton would suffice me as a critic and I think others would agree that if Floyd went that route, he would be heading in the right direction. I would put my chips on Cotto. Not sure about Ricky. but these would be good fights and I think many fans would enjoy seeing them also.

he won't go down to light welter mate. if a fight with hatton happens it will be at welter. and plus there arnt any other big fights for floyd down at 140 so welter would be as far as he would go now as at least the likes of cotto and mosley are there.
and floyd wont knock ricky out anyways ;D

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
Ricky won't fight Floyd at welterweight Ricky is'nt strong enough at welterweight and if they did fight Floyd would stop Ricky ;D

aparently he would. he says thats his dream fight and a fight he would definately go to welter for. he will still be stronger than floyd at welter and its only that hatton wasnt able to bully colazo (a natural welter) the way that he is able to rough up most of his oponents that people judge he wont be strong at the weight.
-
Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
It was Ricky's own addmission that he was'nt strong enough at welter thats why he moved back down.If you think Ricky beats Floyd your crazy he won't beable to do all that hugging that he did against Urango and Tsyzu for first 5 rounds

mate i'm just saying that that the fight has every chance of happening at welter because they have both mentioned it happening. and i didnt say i think ricky beats floyd. i said floyd isnt stopping hatton. because i dont think he packs enought of a punch to really hurt ricky. part of me thinks hatton wont lay a glove on mayweather. but the other part of me thinnks that if hatton turns up to fight floyd with the mentality that it's the fight of his life (simmilar scenario as the tszyu fight) then he would be like a man possesed and all over floyd like a rash.
and ricky didnt really move back down to 140 as he never really moved up in the first place. he only took the fight at welter at short notice and because of the tv network issues and had every intention of fighting back at 140 because thats his natural fighing weight.

I don't know man if it would be hard for him to loose the wieght. I mean think about it. What he only fights like once or twice a year and I think thats plenty of time for him to drop the weight and not be wieght drained. Now personally I don't want him to go below welter but I do believe he could do it with ease actually. I'm hoping after he fights Oscar and hopefully he wins he goes down to Welter and cleans that division out.

Re: Floyd Mayweather- Light Middleweight
I think that Floyd would have no problem dropping to 147 which I think he will in order to take on Hatton. He lives in the gym basically.I wouldnt say that I want him to clean the division out because I dont think that there is anyone other than Hatton who could make a serious fight.I still believe that Hatton will get lose maybe 9rounds to 3.
