Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
Unbelievable!!!
Danny Williams has weighed in at 16st 4lbs for his shot at Scott Gammer's British heavyweight title.
That is a full four stones lighter than when he met Matt Skelton last July, and five pounds less than for a career-best win over Mike Tyson in the USA in 2004.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/6401525.stm
Has to be a mistake?

Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
I know mate,danny williams-16st 4lbs(228lbs)...jaw dropping :o :o :o :o :o

Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
I was looking forward to hearing they official weight in, williams has been saying he has been working hard and all i have read was pointing to that, i have to apologise iw as meant to be going down to the weigh in today for the site, but good ol' saddo didn't e-mail me untill 30 mins before it was happening ;D (sad thing is i past the fucking hotel as it was happening, just had no idea they wer ein there lol!)
Im glad williams has come in good for 2 reasons... 1 its always nice to see to fighters in good shape for a good fight, ad 2 i still think scott wins, and with williams in the shape he is in it will mean a whole lot more to him, and less will be saying "ah well you beat a washed up out of shape never-was-been"

Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!

-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!

Now that makes sense. I have no opinion either way for this fight though.

Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
Ok I know Ive been told this before, but just to clarify... 1 stone is 12 pounds, correct??
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
If he weigh's 228lb then he has trained hard this could be the second coming of Danny williams maybe losing to Audley made him get serious because deep down he would have hated getting beat by Audley and the British heavyweight division is wide open now

Yea I have a hard time believing that... He fought at 288 just over 6 months ago, and hasn't weighed under 250 or 260 for several years.
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
This has to be a mistake. Either that or Danny is in the best shape of his life, he must have trained like a bastard on acid since the Audley loss.
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
Where does it say that on boxrec? Danny would have had to put down a lot more then the chocolates to make that weight ;D

This is really odd!! Fair play to Danny if he has done this, but I would be astounded!!!
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
Any pics of the weigh in anyone?
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
Boxrec says he was 265 against tyson
265 minus 5 is er.. 260.
Thats still fat as fuck :-\ (18st 7ish)

Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
They also said his career best was against Tyson. It wasn't. 4 years ago he was 234 against Keith Long. 234 - 5 = 229.
Confusing stuff.
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
holy shit!!!! 228lbs? how the fuck has he managed that??
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
sorry fenster didnt see you posted this but anyway this is great news if he can beat gammer which i think he will now then rematch with audley then rematch with skelton then title shot but lets hope he didnt do what bowe did when he was out of shape and lost too much weight too quickly that can make you feel drained and thats not good but is this on tele fellas ??

Are you on drugs?
Williams will bow out in typical Williams stlye. A laborious unanimous points defeat in which he fights whilst seemingly fast asleep for over half the fight.
He will 'rally' in the final round, landing a couple decent shots and then in the post fight interview will tell us that he couldn't get his shots off for some reason, that he injured himself before the fight and didn't want to tell anyone cos he didn't want to make excuses, and that he also had a heavy cold.
If you go to Webster's dictionary and look up 'bum' and 'no hoper' you will find Danny Williams.
The guy is, was and always will be a complete waste of space.
He's not even a has been because he never was.

Anyone seen pics?
I still can't believe it...and now haven't got a funking clue how this fight will play out :-\
At least it's made a guaranteed plodathon pretty intriguing.

Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
Danny Williams is dangerously underweight .
Losing that much weight in such shorta time when your over 30 is not good .
-
Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
Possibly... no one can tell that from just numbers though... wait till you see him.

Unless he was losing weight upto the Audley fight and just continued then that would be a safe controlled pace do we know who his trainer is yet

To be honest, I think if Danny has done the training with a healthy diet, and has lost the weight through hard training and roadwork then it shouldn't be that much of a problem. He isn't the tallest in the world and has been carrying a lot of excess baggage, so it should affect him positively if he's lost the fat and not the muscle.

Re: Williams 16st 4lbs!!!
I dont think Danny Williams has suddenly seen the light in twighlight of his career and shed 4 stone or 56 pounds that easily .
It just aint possible we are talking about a man who has trained his whole adult life not a some fat bird who has overindulged whilst working in the local cake shop .
Something aint right .
