i got myself a copy of holyfield vs dwight muhammad qawi today watched it and boy was it slugfest holyfields workrate would be too much for spinks plus holyfield at cruisrerweight was excellent allrounder holyfield by wide ud or late stoppage

Evander inside the distance. O0
Evander could crack . his punches hurt. and they came off in succession bam bam bam bam... no hesitation . excellent form, excellent hand speed , and he had such a wonderfully nice rhythm ( bounce to his routine ) he would fire off that and would get excellent leverage and then turn making it hard to set and return fire ! One of the best P4P ever IMO at any weight .

problem with this fight is are we talking about the Evander who was inexperienced (relatively) at Cruiserweight? Spinks in my mind beat Qawi easier than Holyfield had the first time, although Holyfield beat up Qawi in the rematch better. My pick is Spinks by close decision

I think Evander was weaker at cruiserweight. He got hurt more by punches, and he has never been great against true boxers. I think Spinks wins a close one.

Holmes was old and Conney was scared and pathetic.
Spinks was good but IMO he would of be found as being to picky with his shots while Evander would of pressed more and really made Spinks uncomfortable.
I would like to say stoppage but you never know. Im certain you would see Holyfield out working and out hustling his man.

Watch Qawi v Spinks when Qawi was at his best and unbeaten Spinks did a far better job first time than Holyfield. When he beat Holmes he was past his best as was Holmes.

hello there MR BOOGIE O0.........holmes was a bit long in the tooth but he still was the unbeaten HW champion that outwieghed spinks by about 25 lbs and cooney also towered over spinks,spinks was a very small HW.....i dont think holyfield would get a KO ! maybe a close decision,but either way this would be a great fight...............unfortunatly for spinks if tyson didnt end his career we might have seen this fight happen.he fought a mike tyson that no other fighter had seen before,not many fighters could have beat that tyson................peace out O0 ;D

agreed with everything u said....even a late 80's version of holmes would beat holyfield imo..... the 40 something yearold holmes almost beat holyfield..... imagine what a prime holmes would do to evander :goodpost: :coolclick:

Qawi also is an exact formula to make a judgement, Spinks was no stranger to pressure Qawi was nearly shot when Holyfield did Box him Funny the first time I saw an Oylimpic final when I saw Sinks he was the first fighter Id seen there that I thought would make it big in the Pros The next one was Holyfield even if he only got bronze you could see he was special. As was Spinks.

What i said was in Holyfied-Quawi 2 he was shot... the first fight took to much out of him, and he wasn't the same again, but however he won the first fight IMO, and in alot of other peoples minds as well. Also its not just that Evander couldn't handle the power of Lewis or Tyson at cruiserweight, but he didn't have that level of chin at cruiserweight. I've seen him get rocked by a few cruiserweights who weren't special at all.

So Evander didn't fight that many fights at cruiserweight period. Spinks would have still had the experience edge on him which further proves my point. However Evander fought alot of game fighters as an amateur. Tyson's biggest problem in amateurs was the protection it helped against the punches. Bowe must have been very young when he fought Evander at the amateurs because he is 4-5 years younger than Evander. I don't have a hard time seeing a 15 year old getting beaten up by a 19-20 year old.

Taeth, The point being that it seems people forget what a good fighter Spinks was for a period of time he never was a Heavy but would have been a great Cruiser even though he never boxed at that weight. There wasnt a good fight at that weight for him there at the time being a P for pounder at that time. People seem to have forgotten how good he was because of what Tyson did, He was better than that.

So basically we have people comparing Qawi fights & Tyson fights.
Well on the basis that Qawi was only Holyfields 12th pro fight and that Holyfield took Tysons shots for what was basically a 15 rounder with a break, dropped him and beat him to within an inch of his life..
