I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
I hope I am wrong about this but on his last 3 performances I think he will get stopped sometime after round 9.
The Ricky Hatton that beat Koysta Tysu IMO would have a good chance to beat any lightwelter weight in the world at any time,Including Mayweather. On that night he was on a high,in a leage of his own.
Any fighter would have had trouble staying the pace with him that night.
But since then he has looked a different fighter, for the worse. He was very scrappy in the Mauser fight against a very unskilled boxer.
In his last 2 fights he showed glimses of greatness but was easy to hit and faded very badly in the last quater of the fight.
If you listen to Team Hatton they will tell you he has beaten 3 world champions in his last 3 fights but in reality Hatton was a big favorate in all of thoes fights against hand picked opposition and failed to impress like the true world champion he is.
The Ricky Hatton of old will have to return on the 23rd or I fear he is going down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
I think he would have never had a chance against Mayweather, but he is pretty quick, and I think he still could do some things at his weight division. I think also Castillo is much more shot than Hatton because of all those attempts to make weight at 135.

Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
If you haven't noticed JLC hasn't exactly been performing at his best hes looked just as bad as Hatton has in his last 2 fights....
JLC, IMO has begun to show signs of ware and tare from the 63 fights he has under his belt...
Check how many active fighters have that many fights, you won't find many and who knows depending on how this fight goes we might be witnessing JLC career come to a close... :(
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
I hope he does get knocked out he's overhyped wow he beat an old Kostya then he fought crap champions trying to fool us even Castillo is old and as had to many wars
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
Gotta admit I am leaning towards Castillo :(
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
It's the weight. He needs to keep it down. He vowed to do so so I hope he makes good because that has greatly effected his pacing imo.
And that will be the only problem for Hatton against Castillo imo. If Hatton can go in and out on Castillo like he did against Urango then he will have a lot of success. I mean he looked the best he has ever looked since beating Tszyu in those first 5 rounds.
I think people are underestimating Hatton against Castillo though. He's probably stronger then Castillo, just as fast and while Castillo is a crafty fighter, he is also fairly one dimensional. And his chance to win is for Hatton to spend 12 rounds on the inside. While I think a lot of the fight will be fought in a phone booth, I doubt we really see it take that turn until the second half of the fight.
If anyone goes down in this one it's Castillo, we'll probably see a Hatton UD. Castillo is past it imo.
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
I honestly think the likes of Urango and co just dont motivate Ricky and i hate it everytime they are announced...
Ricky needs this Castillo fight and a few more that he could lose to like...
Cotto
Mayweather
and to an extent even Witter.
would bring the best out of Ricky IMO because if he carries on fighting the Urangos of the world he will get beat.
FEAR is what he needs IMO... i just hope he sees Castillo as the massive threat he is.
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
Can't wait to see the little hugger get ko'd if he was a good toe to toe fighter like he thinks he is he would'nt have to hug fighters like he does i bet Urango did'nt know whether to hit him or kiss him.And he did all that holding and spoiling for first 5 rounds against Kostya he should pack in boxing and take up dancing hope Castillo beats him but don't think he will thats why Ricky's fighting him because its got to be 60/40 fight to Hatton.Witter will beat him if he ever dares fight him

Yes I agree about not looking good but I think Hattons biggest worry and problem is that for the last 3 or 4 round of a fight he looking out on his feet at times.
So as long as Castellio has somthing left at that stage I think he will stop RH.

I noticed in his last fight with Ndougjo JLC started to look winded by 5th round :(
What if they both pass out and fall for the count?
Double KO?
On a serious note after talking about this fight yesterday with bilbo I'm seriously considering going.

I was thinking about it as well might hold on to see who Hatton fights next.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Have faith in the Hitman.

Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
I think Castillo should have lost to Ndougo, hopefully he was not at his best that night, because if thats all he's got left Hitman will knock him out. Definately the weight has affected Hatton last few fights, he will look alot better if he doesnt have to fight the scales. Maybe switch to light beer for a bit. Its now or never for Ricky so I think hes rededicating himself for this stretch of fights, hopefully.

Ndougio was very underrated coming into this fight. Ndougio is going to be tuff for anyone down the road , I think he learned a lot and I think he will bring it to the next level his next outing . Ndougio fought a fantastic fight , he was very strong. Castillo was lucky he got the nod.
I'm not sure it was so much a sign of age, as it was Ndougio being very solid . And one must remember
Castillo is at a heavier weight and his punch might not have the effect they once had. I think Hatton is physically stronger at 140 and will simply over power Castillo , Hatton will work the body and bring Castillo down .
my prediction Hatton in 9

No way Castillo was at his best imo. I mean it was Ndougo, Castillo never performs to terribly well in those stay busy fights. He could have had Reyes out in under 6 if he really wanted to.

Why do you think he was picked ;D
Castillo is there to be hit IMO. I'm hoping he can go to the well for another big fight but I hoped that about Morales, look how that ended. This is not the same fighter that pushed Mayweather.

Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
i think it's a very risky fight for ricky. but it will be exciting.
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
Ricky needs to make sure he doesn't go in and try the crap he has been with the hit and hold method...
I don't know if he is trying to fight smart in his opinion or he has just lost his hunger to be on top something that I have seen happen to many fighters after winning a world title....
If he goies in against Castillo trying to be cute and Castillo is on his game it's going to be a bad night for Hatton....The same can be said though if Hatton comes in with his A game and Castillo is performing like he did his last fight

I agree with you mick that JLC hasn't been that stellar his last two outings as well but I really think these two are going to bring the best out of each other. I think there both going to get up for this fight I mean JLC wants to win a title in that division and Hatton is finally finally fighting a marquee name. So I think come fight night we are going to see one helluva fight (my fingers are crosssed).

I agree with what you are both saying, its just the way Hatton has fades in the last few rounds of recent fights worrys me.
I dont think Hattons problem is down to lack of motivation coz I truly belive he was up for his last fight.
I think the way he alowes his weight to go up and down and nights on the piss have taken somthing away from Ricky that no amount of training can get back. You dont see many other top boxers out on the piss with the lads the way Hatton does.

Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
Hatton is gonna be up for this fight big time! I'am going for Hatton to stop him late in the fight.I think this fight has come at a good time for Hatton the douters are starting to creep in and take a digs at him so motivation will not be a problem and the fact that Castillo is a big name that he will lose to if he's not at his best. Also Ricky has been inactive for a long time in between fights so he has been putting on the pounds but he is'nt gonna have time cause he only fought in January so that can only be a good thing for the hitman.
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
Maybe Hatton just ain't that good so what he beat an old Kostya after hugging him for 5 rounds alot of people thought Collazo nicked it and at least deserved a draw then Mosely stud Collazo on his head so that shows how good Hatton is he is'nt in the same league as Mosely and Mayweather etc maybe Hatton will make Castillo submit with a bear hug
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
or maybe he'll maintain a fighting weight for the next 4 months and actually arrive less drained and gaunt than before. Losing 30lbs in a few months is nowhere near ideal preparation.
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
I think Hatton will win this, and i aint even a big Hatton i just have a feeling it has Hatton decision all over it. Thing with Castillo is you have to be brave to right him off.
-
Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
I hate to be so negative because I'm also looking forward to this fight but it's been scheduled a few years too late. Castillo may not have it anymore and will struggle to even show up at 140 and have anything left. Hatton will start strong, then be average in the second half and be allowed to "john ruiz" his way through it. I hope the undercard is good.
Castillo in 10.

hatton may win, but no way he bullies JLC. that guy comes to fight and he will be in hatton's face the whole time bringing it. hatton better bring his A-game or he is gonna get a serious ass whipping. i think castillo is far more experienced and has a better defense. that's why i pick him to win this fight but i think it's gonna be good.

As have already said I am a massive Hatton fan coz he is a down to earth bloke in a sport full of super egos.
I hope Hatton does a number on him but like I said "I got a bad feeling"
Hope you are right and I am wrong on this one. :o

Re: I got a bad feeling that Hatton is going to get KO'd on the 23rd!!!
One thig is for sure even if both are shot at the weight both will hurt the other !!
Ricky has not pushed on since the KT fight but maybe ( fingers crossed ) he'll by up for this one .
JLC a modern great ( unlike Fat James Toney ) is not the fighter he was but he still has the power and Hatton sometimes Hatton is impossible to miss .
Sounds like an odd thing to say on my part but i believe that Hatton has to get into the trenches with JLC straight away make it along night !
Ricky is a good fighter on the outside he has good footwork and lovely skills but i believe if he has to change tac mid fight it could go wrong for him and Ricky is going to go to war at sometime.
All important is momentum and Ricky is not a one punch finisher
I have a horrible feeling JLC will come in overweight

nah mate, you dont beat guys like Oliveira, Tackie, Tszyu, Magee and Philips if your shit. You dont get past guys like that, guys who have real quality, unless your good. I'm not trying to big up ricky opposition coz I know its not stellar, but still ricky would've been exposed long before now if he was shit. The holding stuff isn't a good sign, but I just think Hatton was being cynical in the Urango and Collazo fights, against Tszyu he was tactically perfect, he never let Kostya get his right-hand go and constantly disrupted his timing by being in his face all night long smothering him. You dont wanna risk walking into punches against a guy who hits like Tszyu. Its not pretty but its good tactics.
When he wants to though Ricky can fight toe-to-toe, and against someone who he is naturally stronger than he'll be able to take a few more risks. You can never write off Castillo, he's a top guy, but I favour Hatton for this fight big time. I think America is gonna see some vintage hatton on the night of the 23rd and I hope that will shut a few critics up.

Vintage Hatton what more hugging and holding i think Castillo is past it but i hope he pulls it off
