Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
mayweather hasnt really said anything good about bhop lately so he's probably not gonna give him the satisfaction of calling him the best boxer in the world right now.
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
No doubt that stems from the fact that Floyd is trashing his company, he's facing Wright and he's trying to woo Pacquiao. Hopkins is no dummy, he might feel that way legitimately but I'm sure those things influenced what he said.

Agreed 100%

Whatever the case, he said it. ;)

CC 631. This is exactly right.
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
"Manny is a great, great fighter and so exciting," BHop said. "He is a great fighter who has got his whole country behind him. As far as the legal fight, I say we are right and that Arum is wrong. When time goes by, the victor will be Golden Boy Promotions. And we will have the option to deal with Pacman if we want to deal with him.
Without a doubt he said it as a spokesperson for Golden Boy Promotions. If you asked him who he felt was in all honesty, without any hesitation he would have said himself.....who's with me 8)

You know what Bilbo? That's exactly the reason I believe he truly feels that way. He loves to pat himself on the back and he's not exactly known for speaking too highly of other current fighters not on his stable. So for Bernard to say that, he must really feel that way. Maybe he didn't mean to say it and it slipped out.
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
I strongly disagree that a person like Bernard would think Pacquaio who has very weak defense would be better than himself or Mayweather.

Yeah but he said it in the same breath as the scandal between Arum and GBP. That should be a clue right there.
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
thats why i don't really deal with P4P list. i have no doubt that if PAC and PBF were to fight at the same weight with there best skills that PBF would KO Pac.
i just wanted to get that off my chest
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
from what i hear pacquiao is the number one pick for Golden Boy Productions so of course their employees and promotional figures will hype him. Manny is a great pound for pound fighter no question. But the best in the world? He has to win titles at a few more different weights to make the top spot over guys like Winky Wright or Floyd Mayweather Jr, in my opinion.
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
the fact that arum and gbp is fighting over pac says a lot. i am a huge fan of pac but i myself does not consider him p4p number 1.... not just yet.
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
PBF described Hopkins' record-setting defenses of the middleweight title as 'milking'. So no, Hopkins won't be calling him #1 anytime soon.
Re: Who's # 1 P4P?....Hopkins Says Pac Is
I wonder why everytime someone mentions the greatness of pac, the pretty boy fans get rattled. Or maybe you yourselves doubt it. C'mon guyz, if you really think your boy is truly great, you shouldn't let your nerves get frayed no matter who sez what... ...Am I starting another riot here?!! ...just defending my poor boy.

So Hopkins realizes that Pac is a real fighter and Floyd is taking the easy route. What's wrong with that?

easy route as in not opening up and taking shots, just pucnhing and moving like hopkins did in the tail end of his career? or easy route as in moving up up LMW and with the exception of maybe mosley the hardest fight out there for him? (IMO)

I'm one of the few guys in here that complains about Floyd but not about his dancing in the ring. My thing is his level of competition.
Floyd fans are cheating themselves if they give him the satisfaction of feeling like he's leaving on top. It should be made clear that he has to fight big fights against great competition like Mosley, Cotto, etc... if he wants his place in history. The thing is, he has a great chance to beat my boy Cotto and whoever else outside od Winky so that just makes it all the more inexplicable that he doesn't take those fights.
There is plenty of reason to believe he is afraid of those types of challenges.
Meanwhile, Pac fights legeng after legend and mostly winning. Everyone says that Morales was done by the time Pac fought him the second and third times but if you really want to look at it that way, he was spiraling downward since the end of the first Pac fight. So who's to say Pac didn't do that to him.

He nees a few 'huge' fights before retiring yes, he hasn't fought piss poor fighters in hi last few matches, but they wern't they fights legends are made from. But fighting oscar is as big a fight as any now surly? Oscar will be harder for him than cotto, toni, hatton pretty much anayong apart from maybe mosley...

Oscar is a dangerous fight for him but keep in mind that this is only his second fight in the last 3 or 4 years.
