more like a statement from evanders attorney
evander holyfield has disgraced the world of boxing with his recently discovered steroid abuse scandal, now were just going through the motions (i think that barry bonds issued that same statement word for word when he was being investigated)
of course hes gonna deny it because thats what drug addicts do, they lie ;)
and spare me the nonsense reasoning of "well they were drug testing him and he always passed," because steroids are constantly being chemically changed so they dont show up in drug tests.
think about all the baseball players who got popped recently for having used steroids over the previous few seasons.
they were getting drug tested too. and guess what?
THEY PASSED TOO!
it wasnt until an investigation was conducted that they found out that some of their star players were doping up
i think it is a bit out of order that a lot of people seem to have made up their minds about whether he did take steroids or not. nothing is proven and its only alergations.
Personally I don't really see the big deal either way. I admit that I don't know anything about steroids but I remember Tyson in an interview once talking about steroid abuse in boxing and he said that steroids don't give you an advantage in boxing at all as they sap your stamina and endurance levels.
Besides even if he had taken something they don't do much to fighters who take steroids anyway, Toney got stripped of a belt but nothing else to my knowledge, Roy Jones just got away with it scott free.
Ultimately who cares?
I care Bilbo. I fuckin care OK. Evander Holyfield is a giant of the game, even though he's well over the hill, and I don't want to hear that he's been cheating. I dislike Toney, and that is a part of it, although his big mouth doesn't help, and I really want to hear whoever has been spreading these stories say that Holyfield is exonerated, and he can get on with his comeback.Quote:

No, he has been tested in the past many times and all were negative. I dont believe with all my heart that he is or was a user, but if they can PROVE it then maybe ill believe it.Anyone can make allegationsQuote:

and for the record, if it were mayweather, judah, jt, spinks, or any other fighter that im partial to, i would be saying the same stuff.
you also wrote that he has discraced the boxing world. Nobody has proven anything and until they do it is unfair to jump to any concusions. Everyone should has the the right to a fair trial or whetever they do to prove their case againt himQuote:

AMen brother. That's exactly how i feel, and there is a culture of believing what we read in the press. I work in the press, and a large part of what is written is done so with little or no relevance to minor things such as facts or evidence. ;)Quote:

If it upsets you just stick your fingers in your ears and shout LALALALALALAL at the top of your voice whenever you hear anyting about it and don't read any accusing posts. You'll be fine. :)
Steroids are in every sport now....fricken table tennis players are juicing. If you dont think he took them, I remember all the talk about his body fat, and how good shape he was in....then he gets that heart condition...makes you wonder. I like Evander but if it comes out he was for sure using them I will lose some respect for him, cheaters never prosper.
It worked out well for Lance Armstrong, Charles Ingram and Nasty Nick. ;)Quote:

It wouldn't matter how many steroids someone took if the fighter, their trainer, manager, promoter and family were not really interested in the fighter's wellbeing and success. Tyson is a great example of this. I also believe that Vargas vs De La Hoya is also evidence that true belief in ones-self, a good trainer and a stable group of people around a fighter (including family) at the highest level will make more of a difference than any chemicals can. It would be a shame if Holyfield was found to have been using them but it really can only accellerate the preparation and hopefully from what Tyson has said could not - thankfully - be something that can decide a fight at the highest level. But having said that if someone is found to have used them a suspension is the only conclusion.Quote:

Its not a big deal to me. I'm not going to crucify Evander for something that the majority of boxers are probably doing. Like mentioned before drug tests mean little to nothing anymore. The fact that steroids are even an issue proves that, as guys obviously feel confident enough that they wont be caught to risk their careers and reputation using them. The harsh reality is that most of your favorite boxers of today have or are probably juicing.
Steroids do not win you world titles. I can't juice up and expect to knock out Wlad Klitchko. They do give fighters an (unfair) advantage, but for me its not going to dimish my opinion of Holyfield. I admire Holyfield because he was a warrior. He stood up to pain and punishment to make it to the top. He fought his heart out. Steroids don't give you heart, they don't allow you to take punches like they are nothing, and they dont allow you to win boxing matches unless there is a solid skill foundation underneath it.
One of the most common misconceptions regarding steroids/HGH is that their main effect is an increase in power. This simply isn't true. A fighter (or any athlete) doesn't take a performance-enhancer just to get bigger or stronger. The main benefit of a performance enhancer is how it helps your recovery time or stamina.Quote:

stamina is one effect yes, but power and speed is as well.

basicly from whats beeing said yeah, he would havw been like a featherweight, it the roids that made him
i dont think evander did roids, just my view thats all
