SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
SO,
Tentative reports are saying that sam peter TOOK a 2.75 million step aside Fee so vitali can fight oleg. Like i said this whole time..
ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. always was, always will be..for all sides.
all those praising sam peter for doing the "noble" thing and rejecting the money should now re-evaluate how they blessed him for rejecting the initial offer.

Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Noble-Schmoble. Sam Peter had first right of refusal so far as I'm concerned. It should have been his fight to turn down. When Vitali 'Humpty-Dumpty' Klitschko shatters, either during the Maskaev fight or after, Peter is going to have the belt at the end of the day anyway. Peter will beat either guy.
-
Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Peter isnt getting the shot he deserves, he might as well at least take the money if that is all he is likely to get. Peter has been truly shafted.
I just hope he stays busy and continues to hone these skills he has developed, he will get his chance and will hopefully make his mark...he has all the potential to be a leading figure in this division...

My major concern is if Vitali only comes back for a single fight and then duly retires...Peter deserves his shot at the reigning champ. If Peter was good enough to stand aside, then Vitali should in turn oblige Peter with a shot....

Well he may have got shafted but I'm sure that 2.75 million will ease his pain ;)
He did the right thing in my opinion, he probably couldn't have won his case so he stamped his feet, made as much noise as possible and forced the kunts in charge of the WBC to hand over nearly 3 million squid to shut him up.

Exactly, there was nothing more he could do really. He deserves his shot but boxing politics has run its course and taken it away from him. At least take the money, I suppose. But like I say, I sure as hell hope Vitali gives Peter a shot once he beats Maskaev (and he will!! Dont doubt this pick! ;) ;D)....Peter sure as hell deserves his opportunity!!

Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
thats a lot of money for a guy like peter to be honest. You gotta take into consideration he could of lost to oleg and would be left fucked... a broken hand, illness lots of things can cause you to lose... but that money is in the bank and he will get a shot, he aint exactly old, done the right thing imo.

I dont think Oleg would stand much chance against this much improved Sam Peter. Peter could have earned a fortune If he got his shot against Maskaev, beat Maskaev and then defended against Vitali....
Vitali getting the shot first is unjust and seems to be about Maskaev getting the best possible payday before heading of into retirement. That and Vitali getting a crack at the title against a mediocre champion first...

I think peter could whip him yeah, but i meant u never know sometimes, when u got almost 3mill in front of you you got think of things like a bust hand or dodgy judges - and i dunno? i don't think peter would make much for fighting oleg for the belt? be lucky to earn one mill from that shot?

But if Vitali was serious about his comeback and decided to fight Peter. Peter as champ and in a huge bout like that....from the 2 fights he would be earning a lot more money. Im not so sure if Vitali will fight Peter though, so perhaps you are right. I hope im wrong about Vitali coming back for just the one fight to say he and Wlad held title at the same time.

Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Why not make Peter the interim champ if Vitali wins and decides not to fight anymore? If Vitali wins and defends then Peter should get first crack at him, likewise if Maskaev ;) wins.

But Peter deserves a crack at the cash cow too...If Peter becomes interim champ only and Vitali just waltzes into retirement, Peter wont get a better payday fighting anyone esle...

Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Peter did deserve a crack at the cash cow. Now he has consented to waiting in line.

Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
ok well with the step aside offer accepted, when the F is vitali fighting once and for all??????????

Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Vitali has become the world heavyweight talking champion recently.
-
Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Sam peter sold his WBC belt imo.He had a good chance of winning it from Oleg but when Vitali gets it Sam will never get it from him.Face it he had a hard time with an ageing short overweight Middleweight that has no ko power in the heavyweight division, skills and a good chin keeps Toney afloat. Now enter Vitali a whole different game. ;)

Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Lets not feel too bad for poor old Sam Peter, think about it - hes getting paid almost three million dollars NOT to go to work. Doesnt sound like such a bad deal to me.
-
Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
3 mill to step aside and do nothin is awesome, shit I would just retire my ass to switzerland, screw getin your head bashed in anymore. I had started to side with peter tho, I hope vitali doesn't retire after just one fight, that would suck. If peter and vitali meet, and vitali is still much like his old self, then I see vitali wining, cause he's a better boxer and he's got an iron freakin chin!
-
Re: SAM PETER TAKES THE MONEY.
Well Sam Peter was doomed from the get go....Duva is the odd man out. Vitali is the baddest fighter out there (next to his brother) and Don King is the most evil thing EVER....Duva couldn't do anything (but drive the price up).
Well Sam Peter will more than likely get a good chance at a rematch with Wladimir now since everyone else is fighting someone or scheduled to fight someone, and Wladimir only got 5 true punches off in his last fight.....seems feasable but you never know. Wlad may not like the fight and Sam will probably be waiting for the "cash cow" of Vitali Klitschko whom I see him having NO CHANCE of beating. Sam Peter might be another Andrew Golota....a great fighter destined never to win a title
This is a grave injustice to Sam Peter, I hate it for him but I also am happy that Vitali will get a title shot
