??? I will give him a few more fights and then judge him.. But it's not looking to good right now.
fight by fight he is getting exposed but hes exciting for sure
For what was being said about him
I will say hess shown a loat of heart but hes not as good as they made him out tp be.....
A thrills & spills fighter.
A fighter should be judged on his fan base, he is a success in that department.

Duddy is a bum and as soon as he picks up the competition and starts fighting fighters who aren't corpses, he will be exposed as such.
As each fight goes by if he keeps looking bad he has a big chance of getting a world title fight against Calzaghe
Duddy is a good fighter, he has alot of heart, and a great chin. I think he is underrated.I dont see anyone making him out to be great..you guys are just a bunch of haters.Hes only 19 fights into a young career, and pretty decent fights if you ask me.....anyone calling him a bum is a idiot(Shadow)
No need for name calling.....an opinon is just an opinion!! Dont get so worked up about it! ;)Quote:

Duddy vs. Campas is a prime example of a super exciting fight. let's see what he does for the rest of 2007 before we judge him too much.
He's had weak opposition and has sub-mediocre defensive skills. He gets hit entirely too much. He's a fraud and will be exposed as such as soon as he steps up the competition. You're a fool if you think otherwise. ::**Quote:

Gatti takes way to many punches he won world titles why can't Duddy he likes a war a true fighter
He's in way over his head in a division that has plethora of far more talented fighters. He may have a little Iomann in him, but that's just not enough in a division stacked with talent.Quote:

Andy Lee is about ready to fight him if that tells you anything.
I would like to see Duddy-Castillejo
Andy Lee is a supermiddleweight and he looks damn impressive for only 7 fights. That kid has a bright future.
Bum is a bit harsh, but it's not too far off. How else do you describe a young fighter struggling with the ghost of Yori Boy Campos?
Duddy is the best fighter ever in the history of boxing hands down ;D Hes gonna knockout all the middleweights then move up to super knock em all out then up to heavyweight just for kicks...Take that haters.
Can i join your John Duddy gang ;D
Yeah sure, you get jumped in by ordering one of his overpriced pay-per-views ;) All you guys have points about his defense, I just watched the Duddy Vs Bonsante fight. If he improves there he will be in alot better shape. I think his main problem is he throws alot and leaves himself way too open afterwards. But his fights are always fun to watch, and I'm Irish , so f you if you dont like him. ;D
So what he leaves himself open but he loves a fight and thats good not everyone wants to watch a defensive masterclass and he has some power in them guns 15 inside 19 wins cant be ignored
With only 19 pro bouts its hard to call him a bum. Is he worth all of the hype.....yes and no. If you want excitement then he is the guy to watch, if you are looking for an opportunity to watch the sweet science at a high level then he is not the guy to watch. He still has a lot of potential if he can find a defense somewhere, and learn to move his head he will have more staying power. At the very least I think he will be one of those fighters that is on the edge of being part of the upper echelon. We will know more about his potential longevity in the coming year.
And what happened whenever Gatti fought a boxer?Quote:

Andy Lee looks like a freakishly gifted diamond in the ruff. From what I've seen, although it's quite early on in his career, he has the potential of being an all time great.
Duddy is a poor man's Gatti...if there could actually be such a thing.
IWO...he's an accident waiting to happen. Waaaaaaaaaay to unpolished.
Agreed. I could even see something tragic happening in the ring once he steps up the competition. He should drop down to 154 and learn some fundamental defensive skills.Quote:

For a fighter at his age with his number of fights, he has had GREAT competition. I would guess you think Kelly Pavlik is hugely overrated and a bum, too? He's 30 fights into his career and his resume is roughly the same as Duddy's. Duddy is not overrated. I don't know anyone who thinks he's a top 5 MW right now. Is he a top 15 or top 10. Absolutely, even with his current flaws.Quote:

Wacko, I know Pavlik is your boy, but I'll tell you this, if Pavlik fought Duddy, Duddy would be the best fighter Pavlik has faced by a long shot. Yes, resume is not everything, and I would agree that Pavlik is more polished than Duddy, but we KNOW Duddy has heart and chin, two elements of a great fighter. Do we know any of that about Pavlik? Seems to me Miranda is pretty unpolished, too, and he's doing OK for himself. Power and a chin can get you a long way.
19 fights. 19 Fights. This guy is not a finished product, and he is WAY ahead of were most guys are at his stage. If he wants to be great, there are areas he needs to improve.
:coolclick: Very well said.Quote:

My point is he takes to many shots as does Duddy but he still won world titles as does Ricky Hatton and he's won world titlesQuote:

He COULD develop into more. Maybe he will maybe he won't. People just hate on him because he has the audacity to have good management and he's making a few dollars earlier in his career than most guys. Fair play to him. He don't talk much trash, he don't claim to be anything more than he is, and be puts on a good show. What's wrong with that? Everybody bitches and moans about certain fighters getting screwed by my managers or having idiotic career development. Along comes a young figher who makes a few bucks, has logical steps up in competition, and puts on a good show, and people trash him.Quote:
