What top 3 of all time or just in my opinion
Meldrick Taylor is definitely up there and so is Roy Jones. However, out of the active boxers that I see today:
1- Pac-Man
2- Calzaghe
3- Oscar DeLaHoya
In your opinion would be better.Quote:

I've seen several times Pac hitting the mitts with 5 power shots in just about a second.Quote:

Shocking how few a people have mentioned Ali.
at Heavyweight young Muhammed Ali was so fast, there's never been a heavyweight since with that handspeed. Also think he had one of the quickest jabs going too. Mike Tyson was fast, but that was more with hooks and power punches. Ali's jab was superb.
Lower than heavyweight as far as I'm concerned there's one man who rules, thats Roy Jones Jnr. Absolutely incredible handspeed. The most talented boxer that has ever lived in my humble opinion.
Let's not get crazy people Roy JOnes Jr. did have the fastest hands p4p, but he was not as fast as the small guys in when matching how fast they actually punched. Also I don't get how people have Ray Robinson way up there... he wasn't at welterweight as fast as Leonard, mayweather, Mosley, Judah, Hearns, etc. He was quick, but not in the top 5.
Agreed, but next only to Pac. ;DQuote:

CC#15 for pointing out Ali, damn! he was fast and his jab was like a flash....Quote:

I just finished watching the video, Alis part starts off at the 5 min. mark and he does the speed bag at the 7 min. mark....
That shit! is freaskish..... :o
Heavyweight id go with John the Quiet Man Ruiz(see Tua fight)
below HW id go with Carlos Baldomir
RJJ a video of his handspeed go to the 6:00 min. mark and you'll see RJJ throw like 20 punches in just seconds.... Thats freakish too....
:o

Ali's jab is one of the greatest punches in the history of the sport. The thing about Ali is that his larger than life image sometimes overshadows his incredible physical gifts. The man was a beautiful athlete.
and thats an older RJQuote:

I reckon that Floyd Patterson had the greatest HW handspeed.Quote:

All definiately up there. Imagine if Leonard never came across that eye injury as pacfan stated. Considering he was already one of the finest P4P fighters OF ALL TIME imo.....without long lay off's who knows what he would of achieved.
Yup, not only the layoffs but also the mental baggage he carried after coming off such a serious condition - detached retina - which simply means his eyeball could've come out of the socket anytime if it weren't corrected. How can he ever come forward fighting after coming off such a shock? He hardly did but still managed to 'box' Hagler beautifully. If he weren't bothered with that, I think he would've come more forward and could've KO'd him - at least he would have had the means to do so, IMO, with more experience and in his prime. What a damn good boxer he could've been?! Tsk, tsk! :'(Quote:

If he had ever tried to KO Hagler at any point in his career it only would have lead to him taking more punishment.. He had to fight Marvin the way he did, he couldn't take good shots from him, and he had no ability to hurt Hagler. Have you even seen the fight? I kind of doubt it.Quote:

Recently I downloaded 2 versions of the fight from one of the peer-to-peer sharing network and surprisingly it was both Japanese version of the the fight. Guest commentator of the fight was I think former champion Yoshiaki Numata. He said Leonard was clearly ahead and before the last round he said Hagler clearly needed to knock Leonard out to win. How did I know? 'cuz actually, I'm half-Japanese and I was born there and Japanese is my first language. Anyway, going back to the fight, who are we to argue with the ex-champ right, they know more than either me or you.Quote:

Anyway, as I see it, Leonard's punches has all the important ingredients of a perfect punch - stiffness, the snap, speed, and the leverage, that is, his punches are well anchored on his body. It's only that sometimes boxers don't unleash all they've got because their tentativeness. Watch how he unleashes all he's got on the much bigger Lalonde and I hope you'll know what I mean. Of course you might say he's a nobody of a fighter, but that's besides the point. Anyway, CC to you both, just keep arguing, it's no problem with me.Quote:
