I watched the bout over 10 times just due to the sheer excitement of a classic HW barnburner matchup. It was a close fight, but I had Tua up by two rounds. That's the closest that Ike ever came to hitting the canvas. Let's put it this way: It was like a Barrera vs. Morales at HW. Only in the Tua/Ibeabuchi fight, the punches thrown in the bout broke the record. Absolutely insane fight. Unfortunately that Tua of old is long gone. If he would have kept his weight at 220-227, he would have definitely won a title.
Shit, Tyson was scared shitless of Tua. He even admitted it in an interview.

I thought Tua won the match by 2 or 3 rounds also . thanks for you input ! Cool Click in 24 hours

What a scrap that was, I have that fight I've seen it a few times and the times I've seen it I had Tua up by 3 rounds exactly.....

i had it even draw i had tua up 1 round going into 12th but ike won 12th and that earned him draw in my book

who are these guys? ive never heard of either??? are they straw weights? one sounds like a sushi dish and one sounds like the japanese car stereo in my lexus. :-\

I had 115-113 I think for this bout, I cannot give this bout to Ibeabuchi. This TUA was really an iincredible fighter...

cc back i went back and re watched it ike won 1 st minute of 12th round with some nice jabs tua edged middle part of the round then last 10 seconds they had equal exchange it was close round but based on first minute of the round i give round to ike

I give this fight to Tua every time, once he found his range and once Ike's workrate dropped he was getting through with some massive shots. He had ike all over the places in the later stages. I think I scored it 6 rounds Tua, 4 rounds Ibeabuchi and 2 rounds even the last time I watched it on YouTube.

If David Tua had got the decision like he should've and got his title shot when he was young and in shape, he could've been an awesome champion. I would've loved to have seen Tua - Tyson in the mid 90's, one of the best fights never to have happened. But thats the way it goes. I don't think were gonna say that David Tua ever again.

Dont forget that not only is this the greatest quantity of punches thrown in a heavyweight fight, but they weren't tip-tappy bantamweight puff punches, these guys were throwing bombs from the beginning to the end!! Never seen a fight like it.

you guys ever been to Naras Sushi? If so you gotta try the TUA roll I was there the other day killing time while the mechanic was installing my new IBEABUCHI stereo.

I had Tua winning as well, it shows how good Tua could have been....30 more seconds and Ike would have been put to sleep, imo...a great fight between the two best fighters of that specific time, time capsule stuff...

This was my first time watching the fight. Thanks for the heads up. It was a very very good HW fight, lots of punches thrown for such big men. Damn, Ike was built like fukin Frank Bruno, had a hell of a lot better chin though. I had just woken up from a nap, so I was not as alert while scoring as usual, but I had Ike winning 3 or all of the first 4 rounds. I also had him winning a couple middle to late rounds and the last round. So I would have to give the fight to Ike. He withstood some serious firepower from Tua, and boxed well, kept lettin his hands go. Damn shame he was such a psycho fuker, and had to rape that stripper and fuk his whole life up.

im sorry Lords Gizm for my pimp hotel room down in the OC does not have ESPN classic but instead it has nick at nite so while everyone was doing the homework assignment of scoring the terminator vs president fight i was scoring the bob saget vs john stamos bout instead.

but if my memory serves me correctly i recall when the fight took place i was about 18years old hmmmmmmmm i remember both men were trading at a mad high volume and standing toe to toe which is not common for a HW fight. let me think about this one for a sec ill get back to ya! ;)

I had Ibeabuchi winning.

The score card that had me a bit pissed was the 117 -113 for Ike.. what the fuckin judges you know? I sat down and looked at the match objectively and I thought Ike won the first 4. then maybe there is an even round somewhere ?.. After that tua started taking over by pressing and landing the more telling shots after the 4th . tua was catching a lot of Ike's punches on the arms and so forth, so a lot of Ike' shots did not land, but anyway it is what it is ! can't be changed. ..
