:coolclick: For the vid. Damn, I forgot how badly hurt Mosley was in that fight. That fight could have been easily stopped.
Although I'm not a huge Mosley fan, I respect him more as much as any fighter for his willingness to fight the best at all points in his career.

yeah hats off to mosley. he is awesome.

Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
Yup, Mosley is my favorite active fighter. Can't find anything bad to say about him. He doesn't trash talk, fights anyone, doesn't run, has great chin, great power.
Also he is really well liked. I live about 40 minutes from where he does and he has pictures in restaruants and stuff like that, and he's not stuck up. If you go to the right 24hr fitness you can play basketball with him and he doesn't have a crew of thugs with him or anything. His dad goes to some of the local fight cards, he's just a solid guy all around.
And as far as his current fighting potential..... He is far from washed up, he hasn't looked bad in any of his fights and even the ones he lost were competetive. He has alot left in the tank if you ask me. And I think he would beat PBF silly.

Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
I would have stopped that fight.
Smoker as I call him, is a decent ref. I trust him.
Tremendous heart on Shane's part.
Forrest is Shane's Huckleberry and so is Winky :(
Hard to believe that Ricardo Mayorga was the first man to break Vernon's egg.
Go figure.
BTW CC for the vid/clip.
;)

Thats what happens when you get found out for using steroids I suppose

Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
Shane has everything you would want in a fighter.....HOWEVER
You know when you own him, his body language changes and he all but gives up. The only time he lost and didn't give up (from my perspective it looks like he stops trying, I'm not calling him a quitter he just LOOKS like he quits in his body language) was the rematch with Winky.....he really threw EVERYTHING at Winky.
-
Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
i heard Shane Mosley done alot better vs Forrest in rematch and some had it a draw for people who have seen it how close was rematch and could Shane have got a decision

Let me say this (after I :coolclick: ya for seeing the light. ;D )...I have never liked Shane Mosley as a person...but the man is fucking amazing as a fighter.
One of the most talented in the game...but when he loses...he really REALLY falls apart & for some reason...he has just never settled in with me as a favorite...& that's odd because he embodies almost everything about boxing that I love.
Also...the fact that he beat Oscar really REALLY fwocked with me...especially the second time...because he didn't beat Oscar the second time...the first time...YES. Second time...NO.
Wright handled him so easily that I was shocked speechless.
I knew that Wright would give Mosley severe issues...but never to the extent that he did.

There's a Hw fighter that has quit a few times too. I think some people say he's the best at the weight right now but I'm not sure.

:coolclick: wacko never see first Mosley vs Wright fight i see 2nd one and that wasn't easy night for Wright but he still won comfortably by 2 rounds or more plus Mosley has to be one of best lightweights ever for skill imo

Watch the first one.
Also...watch the second one again & watch Mosley mentally come apart...towards the last 3-4 rounds if I aint mistaken.
It was REALLY apparent in the first fight.
Check it.

Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
Awesome awesome fighter, wonderful attitude, always willing to face the best and a genuine nice guy. A great asset to the sport,I can think of no better compliment than that.I wish there were more fighters like him rather than these wannabe businessmen type boxers.
However, luvfightgame, although I'd really like to believe that Shane would beat Floyd,I dont think he would. I just don't see it.

He did yeah but in that fight you posted there , the headbutt started the problems for Shane and he could have been given the rematch cuz it was so close .
He is slowly getting his form back now and is pretty near to where he was . He will fight anyone and seek out the hardest challengers unlike Floyd
-
Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
SSM is the shizz and lil'Floyd just ain't got the pop to beat him... even todays version.
-
Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
The second Mosley - Forrest fights was one of the worst fights I've ever seen.
Just had to say that. But yeah Mosley is such an athletic fighter, I'm glad to see him back at 147 where he can really make a splash.

Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
CC for the vid ICB, its a shame Forrest turned out to be a bit of a waste man.
Mosleys 1st fight with Oscar is one of the best fights ive seen (flat-out brawls aside ;) )
I love Mosley's style and he is definately re-visiting top form. Dunno about him beating floyd but it would be a bloody good fight!
Mosley on form against anyone is a bloody good fight ;D

Remember people reckon Castillo outpointed Floyd . He was unofficially floored vs Judah too , hurt by Corley and we are yet to see how he handles a washed up De La Hoya .

Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
can one of you knowledgeable posters tell me which is best lightweight fight of Shane Mosley which one i should get ??

Re: After Watching Some Shane Mosley Fights Recently....
If you want to see flat out dominance against a decent fighter watch his fight against Adrian Dodson
Mosely was found to be using steroids in the Balco investigation, I think this deffinitly has alot to do with his dominance in the lower weight because after that he moved up and his performances dropped.
He never had a style that was gracefull and textbook, he relied on speed and power, both came from his performance enhancement drugs, he doesnt look half the fighter he did now or just after the balco thing

He wouldn't touch PBF... PBF is too quick for this Mosley, and even when Mosley was younger he wasn't a good enough boxer.

Mosley doesn't have problems with quick fighters. He has problems with fighters that are bigger and taller than him. PBF however had big problems with Zab and Mosley is more powerful, quicker, great stamina, and much better chin. Mosley is just too strong for PBF in my opinion.

Shane definitely lost the rematch because Forrest had his number. And it's not because Forrest is a better fighter; he isn't. He beat Mosley with punch 'n clinch action. He would tap him with that long jab and tie him up before he could throw anything back. But because Forrest won both fights he got a big head out of it and thought he could do anything. He was riding on a confidence high when he thought he'd step in and trounce Mayorga that first time...
