Nice battle!
I think Trinidad would be too tall, to fearless and to powerfull.
TKO by round 10 8)
Cotto could get better, but today's Cotto v. prime Trinidad ends in a brutal early round knockout. Tito would test that chin early and often.
tito will murder cotto :boxing2:
Tito would tkfo Cotto, inside 6. And I love Cotto but here is no way, with his style that he would be able to hang with Trinidad.
I go for Cotto. TKO before 8th round
Everybody has an opinion unfortuanatelyQuote:

However, there had been great battles between Puertorican champions such as Camacho vs Edwin "Chapo" Rosario, Laporte vs Gomez just to mention 2, which I had enjoyed. But, going back to the subject, I will bet for Tito winning by KO. It would be a brutal fight since both man like to fight... If this fight happened I would put my feeling aside and would be ready to watch it with my house full of neighbors and coolers full of beer. ;D
Just because Cotto beat Corrales is not any reason to think he can beat Tito, who was good at welterweight and strong. Corrales had a weak chin at 135 and 140,,, why did we expect his chin to get stronger.. Only guys like Hearns could move up and knock guys out still at higher weights. Hearns is the exception because of his greatness. Corrales is not great.
Sorry bro think you got mixed up.Quote:

Corrales is better than Cotto pound for pound but at 147 it just seems like he is out of his advantage range. Hearns still had advantages when he moved up in weight because he had speed and the skills of a world class fighter in excess. In excess I mean he was just so much better that he still dominated, even Virgil Hill. Corrales has skills, but not to the point where he can move up and beat guys easily. Hearns moved up and beat Andries like he was beating a 4th rate fighter, and Andries was champion. But that is not fair to compare Corrales to Hearns, just that Hearns is the guy most people compare the tall guys to. Corrales should have tried to stay at 140.. Or if he fights at 147 he better adjust to his vulnerabilities and find another way to win. His way of winning at 135 and 140 will not work at 147 I am afraid.
Is this with or without the concrete wraps? ;D
One thing is that, Trinidad punches as if he had concrete in his fist and other Bernard's psychological game with Trinidad that it appears to had affected more people than he expected. My friend Trinidad is one of the hardest puncher you could find in 147 and 154. Perhaps, you may want to put your chin in front of him even without wraps. :boxing2:Quote:

At this stage in Cotto's career I don't think he has had enough experience to be in with Tito...Down the road after some more big fights I think it would be a great match up
I think this is a dumb a$$ question i never liked Tito but at the same i knew he was great. Cotto is not great and never will be. Tito would knock his out in 6.

Tito is great but at this point in time, I'd say Cotto will prevail. TKO before 9th round. O0
Cottos last number of fights, although victories have displayed Cotto's vulnerabilities as a fighter. Against Judah, i felt Judah was made to look good against the rough around the edges Cotto. Against Urkal a Skillful yet feather fisted puncher was let into the fight and again look good. And all the way back against Torres a 2nd Tier fighter was made look like Tommy Hearns.
Cotto is a "young," boxer. He has a lot more education to receive and he has the natural potential and physique which equip him to fight tito. But we haven't seen prime cotto yet imo and footage of prime tito may be viewed as a historical artifact.
Well if its dumbass question why did you respond to it ?? i just thought of this match up because they are both puerto rican and both got shook up early in there career no need to call it dumbass question.Quote:

oh.. 2 great fighters...this is gonna be tough....but i'll stick with Cotto..i hope he wins
Trinidad destroys, too big for Cotto , i mean this aint the same weight class ;/ even now I would say trinidad gets the nod
Well, we are assuming that this is 147 Trinidad vs 147 Cotto. So it is the same weight class. But I agree with everything else you said.Quote:

a good pick.. tito at his best was very good.. stright puncher . devistaing result. i like cotto alot, but the stright punches of tito would get him i would think .Quote:

Well he just beat Mosley so he must not be to overrated just a thought for you guys.
And for me any version of shane would have beaten Trinidad...
It baffles me every time I hear/read this ::** :cwm10:Quote:

The easiest and most obvious comparison that can be drawn is common competition; DLH.
In reality Oscar beat Felix, (incredibly close i no and i do realise the judges decision was final,) but Shane beat Oscar comprohensively. The difference between the two fights was that oscar was in gear for the entire fight with Shane, he didn't lay off at all.
After that point it's entirely specualation, but from my point of view, shanes speed athleticism and skills were too much for the good-but one dimensional Trinidad.
Ah yes, the DLH fight, I remember. Look, DLH did a great job on that fight, he boxed Tito in a way he had never boxed before or since. It was in many ways his best performance in the ring for at least 8 or 9 rounds. You already know who I thought won that fight so I won't discuss it here.Quote:

He would get hit and get hit often by one of the most accurate and precise punchers in the game in Trinidad (not to mention he was also the biggest puncher in that weightclass). I just don't see Mosley ever beating Trinidad, especially not the Trinidad that dominated the 147 lb division in the 90s.
