The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
Ive always considerd the 175 division to be a fairly shallow division, talent wise.
I cant make up my mind who i think is best though?
Ive taken the top ranked fighters as of today and listed them here so you guys can add to my indecision...
Who is No.1 @ 175???

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
Im going for Clinton Woods
-
Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
If he is a light heavy then its Hopkins.
If he isnt then Johnson Tarver and Woods share equal billing. I think at this point in time they could fight each other ten times a piece and still have no clear cut number 1.

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
I voted B-Hop since thats where he last fought and beat the champ....
-
Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
I wouldn't like to say just yet.
Woods beat johnson in a close fight, hopkins i would of liked to see defended agasint another top fighter at LH to prove he was the best. tarver, well after hopkins done to him fuck no - never rated him to highly anyhow; RJJ coming form to many losses no way in hell he can be considerd top of it untill he beats a big name again or a big name at LH
Alot of good matches could be made there, i like the look of dawson etc hope we starts seeing the weak weeded out.

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
Its gotta be either Woods, Hopkins or Jones for me. Theres no way I can say Tarver or Johnson seeing as they both lost their last fight. Id first like to see Woods against Jones as Woods is impressing me more with each fight right now and we still dont know how much Jones has left untill he fights a big name. Then if Hopkins is to fight on at light heavy he'd have to fight the winner. Thats in an ideal world of course and its unlikely it'll happen like that but theres no denying that would show for sure whos the best in the division.

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
I went for BHOP but it just hit me the lack of talent there is at LHW. I wouldnt consider Jones too far off the top, even with all the blips hes gone through recently that says alot.

I had Johnson winning that fight.

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
Probably lean towards B-Hop, but Woods has really impressed me of late - I thought he was a bum, but he is a completely different fighter to the one that fought Jones or from the firstt 2 Johnson fights

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
To be fair take Clinton Woods 07 and put him in with Jones Jr 02 and he's still going to get a fucking good hiding ;D
I know what you mean though H ;)

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
i would probably say bhop after how he looked against tarver. clinton woods a close second. he's not exclent at anything but he's a good alrounder.

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
:coolclick: all round, thanks for the input ;)
BUT
As you can see, or can't see, B-HOP was a clear winner of the previous poll so i decided to make things a bit more interesting.
You cant pick BHOP :P
Why? Well its a given that Nard is a living ledgend and really, not many boxers at 175 really even deserve to share a ring with him. But i cant quite work out who's next in line.
So i took the easy option out, to get a clearer view 8)
Cheers Peeps! ;)

haha CC to you, I was about to give you major flak for not having Hopkins on the poll as I haven't viewed this thread before.. I was thinking is this guy insane :D

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
Well if you take Hopkins out of the running then it really has to be Clinton Woods. Woods just beat Johnson and Jones hasnt fought the best at this weight since his loss to Tarver - who also lost his last fight so cant possibly be considered champion. Without B hop theres really no arguement for anyone but Woods.

That it is then......
Tarver
Woods
Johnson
In that order..... followed by Erdei & BCD.

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
Hopkins is obviously the best . The number 2 would have to be Antonio Tarver . He beat Jones twice ( 3 times in most peoples eyes ) and he was da man b4 Hopkins took over
Woods can make a case for being 3rd

Re: The Best, Current, Light-Heavyweight?
Thanks for helping this poll roll into extra time lads. 8)
Quick question though...
No love for Dawson?
Also, is there no suspicsion that Woods only got a home town decision over Johnson?
Disscuss ;D

I picked Johnson, it's a tough call in this division
Johnson beat Woods, Tarver and RJJ : Johnson lost to Tarver and Woods
Tarver beat RJJ, Johnson: Tarver lost to RJJ, Johnson and B-Hop
Woods beat Johnson: Woods lost to Johnson.

I got nothin' but love for my boy BCD but wining the belt alone does not make you the best of the div.
Tarver, Woods & Johnson have longer rap sheets then him the credibility of their opponents are much better then the 1 Adamek fight hes had but theres no need to rush things an arguement can be made that Johnson & Woods are past it and are on their way out. BCD might compete against Woods, Tarver & Glen but theres also a lot of young blood out there, some exceptional fighters like Erdie, Drews, Green, Hoye, Diaconu who are all moving up the rankings and look to be the future of the div. as the vets fade out....
So to me BCD is where he want's to be at #1 if your not counting the the vets. his time has come and the time to face one of those vets may also come he better be ready....
