I think that for his initiation he should fight the only current fighter who has beaten him, and rectify that dissapointing lose. IMO he should have at least one fight before he gets a shot at a championship.

yes
The loss is on paper only....Vitaly had that fight in the bag and Byrd was given a gift by Vitaly having to quit due to injury...Besides Byrd has nothing left in the tank IMO Wlad took anything left
How many rds of beating do you want to Byrd from the Klitschko brothers? The guy should also have a good life when finished his boxing.Quote:

Thats a better suggestion. Vitali: Peter would be a quality match up!! :DQuote:

I agree that he should have a fight before he gets a title shoy but Byrd has got nothing left, i'd like too see him fight Calvin Brock. The circumstances in which Vitali lost to Byrd mean that he doesn't need redemption.
That wouldn't prove much, considering Vitali was beating Byrd easily at the time of the injury.Besides he has the right to fight the title holder imediately.
byrd has plenty left. the robot brothers have always given byrd trouble and they always will.
I wouldn't wish a fight with Vitali on anyone at this point in time...Byrd is good as long as he keeps moving. He should try to get a fight with Sam Peter....he's not as powerful as Ibeabuchi and not as accurate as Wladimir....he could damn well beat him.
But I think the best fight(s) for him are:Dimitrenko....good boxer but no power. Ruiz...tough fight but he still ranks.....the best title holder for him to fight is Shannon Briggs because he's lazy and cocky
Bad matchup. How ironic, 3 boxers from michigan that started out as middler weights ballooned up to fought in the fight in the heavies. RJJ, Bryd, and Toney.
Samuel Peter isn't as easy as he looks if I was Byrd I'd take on last years fighters, not Peter, and definely not the Klitch-Bro's. Better to put against Mcall, Briggs, Ruiz, Holifield and other yesterday's which are fights he has better shot at.
Chris already whipped Holyfield and Sam Peter would be EASY to beat if Chris is as mobile as he used to be.
A fight with Calvin Brock or: Tony Thompson, Eddie Chambers, Ray Austin, Larry Donald, or Domonick Guinn wouldn't be bad matchups either
RJJ is from Michigan ???Quote:

I don't think Peter gets as much from fighting Maskaev. Either way it will be a good fight. Vitali has never been in a stinker, and Peter is pretty exciting as well. I highly doubt that fight will go the distance. And I don't know if Vitale has enough left to be the one standing. Both have great chins and both have serious power. I have to give the edge to Vitale because of his performance against Lewis. Although Peter is vastly improved, and Vitale is much older. All I know is somebody is getting ko'd.Quote:

but vitali fighting byrd would achieve nothing if you ask me. byrd won by default realy and vitali would just give him another klitchiko beating if they faught again.
You caught me, I was thinking about the days when RJJ trained out of Kronk Gym. :DQuote:

I think that Byrd can beat alot of the old names, and guys like Ray Austin wouldn't present much trouble for him to out point.
I'm starting to think though that a Byrd/Guinn fight would be a pretty match up. That and I'd like to see that and a Vitali/Peter fight.
Too bad he didn't stay at middleweight, that's where the action has shifted to these years, and I still remember the fast pace, and punches that made a few of us think that Byrd was the next best thing way back when.
peter has goten better but i still think bryd would outbox him. i've wanted to see bryd toney but the fight becomes interesting because toney keeps getting fatter.
No way in hell Sam has a chance at beating Vitali. Sam won't take a rematch with Wlad either.
About the only competition facing either Klitschko is the OTHER Klitschko.
