Only when Regan came into office and stated that if the hostages were not released within a certain timeframe then Iran would be turned into a carpark. All of a sudden the hostages were released.

Its shit makes me angry but then again as far as killing 250 000 innocent civilians and starving an ancient culture in the name of freedom and peace goes id say that makes me angry .

I think Blair's government like it or loath it has shown in the recent past it is willing to use force to rescue British forces held prisonor if that is the best opption.

A few years ago the paras and the SAS went into Siera Lieon(spelt wrong I know) to rescue a group of Irish Rangers that were taken prisonor by local warlords.


As for trying to use military force to rescue our prisonors now,I think it would end in disaster unless there was excelent inteligents of where they were.
Even if the info was spot on it would probolly end in disaster with countless Britsh deaths.
You may not like it but the best way for our service men to get out of Iran alive is negotiation.


If you want to see how rescue missions can go tits up read the book Black Hawk Down or about the US rescue misson in the middle east in 1980.

If I thought military action would do any good then I would be all for it.

As I have served in the British Paras I think I have a good idea of how military oppartions work.I dont think you have the faintest idea and you have watched to many hollywood films.

The reason I did not add IraqI and WWII is coz I think that they were missions/wars that were just and also well planned and thought out.

As for apologising and making concessions I dont think you have been watching the news with much detal coz the uk government are refusing to say they were in Iran's waters.

It was an act of war when Iran took the UK troops out of Iraqi waters and now parading them on the camera Don’t mean to come off a cunt about all this..
