You guessed it...It's Just Another one of Wacko's DRBR's! Calzaghe vs Manfredo!

Well me bwoyo’s…tis time for yet another installment of Wacko’s Drunken Round by Round.

Wacko is currently intoxicated…& much to his drunken dismay…I have decided to cover this NEXT ;D weekend’s festivities on HBO featuring undefeated Super Middleweight Champion Joe Calzaghe.

Brotha Yoeseph sports an undefeated record of 42 fights with no losses & 31 ko's.

While that should be an impressive statement…his laundry list of opposition of late puts it all to wash.

This weekend’s match up against “the Contender” loser Peter Manfredo Jr. (29 fights with 26 wins, 3 losses, & 12 ko's) does not strengthen the points…but…as always…I am here to cover the sport for my people…even though I don’t really support the match.

Instead of going into my usual banter…I will just copy & paste HBO’s propaganda push for the match of matches…they did themselves much more justice showcasing Kessler last weekend.

I voted Calzaghe on points. I think Manfredo will be able to fend off Calzaghe enough to keep from being KO'd. I can't see him winning many rounds, but you never can tell...

Im going with Calzaghe by stoppage and preferably early. Calzaghe needs to make a statement after the Bika none show.

I hope Kessler is in attendance.....and beats the hell out of both in the pre-fight announcements.

I voted Calzaghe by decision. I don't see him KOing too many people at this stage in his career.

Had I seen the last option, I definitely would have picked it instead though.

Corrales-Clottey is the same night, and definitely more intriguing (I'll vote Clottey TKO there).

At least Manfredo won't come to spoil he'll come to fight. I can see Manfredo having some success before getting bowled out in about 4 rounds.

Having said that I've gone and put a fiver on a Manfredo win. It's gotta be short odds on Calzaghe breaking a hand on that hard head so I think 10-1's o.k for a punt. 8)

Outside of the majority of PBF fights lately, I cant remember the last time I was this dissappointed in a matchup. I think Manfredo is tough enough to last the distance, but dont think he has enough to KO Joe. Which is the only way he will get a win, It will be impossible for Manfredo to win any type of decision in Joe's backyard. I am just hoping that Manfredo makes a good accounting of himself in this fight, if he does it will open up more and better bouts for the future.

Can these be done a week before the fight preferably..it might build anticipation and then letdown for those who realise it isn't. But a bigger let down is this fight.

;D I know there is a less than 1% chance of that. I was just saying that if it goes the distance then it is a win for Joe, and Manfredo's only hope is for the KO.

If it goes the distance how does it reflect on Joe and Manfredo? Does Joe get brought down because Manfredo went the distance with him or does Manfredo get props for going the distance with Joe? I got a feeling it will be more of Joe getting dissed for going the distance rather than give Manfredo props for getting there.

Joe TKO later middle ( 6-9 )

Manfredo will look good until he stops looking good, and then he'll not look so good.

No matter how great Joe looks against Manfredo, though, it won't make Joe look good even when he makes Manfredo look bad.

Further, no matter how great Joe looks against Manfredo, if he doesn't make Manfredo look bad, then that will make Joe look bad.

If Peter does really well, though, which he won't, then even if he loses, I mean even when he loses, it will be good for him. In that case the new L on his record will still become a platform for other reasonably high level fights, until he finds his level. Which is done by winning and losing, of course.

I don't think Joe will let that happen. Peter's L will be a real L, but Joes W may be not much of a W.

What the hell happened to that "PRIDE OF PROVIDENCE" guy anyway? He came on here and posted like 1000 times in a three-month period and then dropped off the face of the forum....

he needs a big fight and needs to win it, and needs it soon his not exactly young so he needs to peep down and just get a huge fight for his career.

Ah, whatever to all y'all! I'll be there supporting my bwoys Calzaghe and Maccarinelli, even though they have both got pretty shoddy opponents. If Manfredo comes in and looks to spoil like Bika did, then it could be a long night, but hopefully he'll come in to fight and Calzaghe's workrate will wear him down and finish him off sooner rather than later.

As for Bobby "Spud"-Gunn, if he's there for 12 I just hope he won't get seriously hurt.

Another thing is that you have to take into consideration how good the good were when he fought them.

Some were at the peak of their careers & some were hard hands.

Calzaghe does indeed deserve respect & most people (my Yank bretheren) either haven't seen his fights or have only seen clips. That's one of the shittiest things PERIOD for a boxing fan to do...make a blatant judgement based on snippets instead of broad knowledge of a man's career & the way he's handled it.

You don't have to be a die hard fan of a boxer to respect him...but you damn sure better know what the fwock your'e preachin about if your'e gonna bash him to death.

it is a shame he is taking ths fight and not allowing someone deserving to take it
