At 147, I would have DLH and Quartey tied for the last spot, and I would bump Trinidad ahead of Duran. Other than that I have them in the same order as above.Quote:

Really? Mine wasn't in order, but here's how mine goes
Hearns
Trinidad
Duran
Robinson
Quartey
Dela Hoya
Hearns
Trinidad
Robinson
Duran
Quartey
Oscar
that's about itQuote:

Come again?
And again? ;)
I only posted once but it came out twice it happend yesterday aswell
Its got to be Charlie
Not in any order
Henry Armstrong
Thomas Hearns
Felix Trinidad
Oscar Dela Hoya
Sugar Ray Robinson
You know that Henry Armstrong was tiny, and relied on succesive punches.
I look at Hearns who continued to knock out guys in devastating fashion at the higher weights, and Duran who also did that to Moore and others which makes me think they are the biggest punchers, and also Trinidad I change Quartey with Oscar though because I think Oscar hits ahrder than Quartey after watching them against eachother and against Vargas.
Perhaps one day Andre Berto will be added to the list. He is looking good so far, but is untested yet.
I would have to say Hearns and Duran should be the top two.
How about Pipino Cuevas W 35 (31 ko's)
Or the Raging Bull,Jake LaMotta?
If Cotto continues on this path hes on, he'll also be eligeable for this list.
W 83 (30 ko's) He used to wear you down not really hard puncher.Quote:

Early in his fights,he allways struck me as trying to feel out an opponent rather then really opening up.
What about Aaron Pryor, even tho he was best at light welter? 35 out of 39 were ko's.
He never fought at Welterweight i don't think nvm just checked it he fought at Wetlerweight couple of times but that was at end of his career.Quote:

As far as just punching power Tommy Hearns.....Tommy hit people so hard he actually broke his wrist on one occasion.....His straight right may have been the best power punch of any welterweight...
Why is Quartey on that list?
Isn't he famous for his jab????

He only fought 3 times at welterweight, and got KO'ed by the only decent one it looks like.Quote:

Remember Fulmer was also a welterweight, and that left hook was good, but I've seen both Trinidad adn Hearns throw harder. And for Hearns to buckle Hagler's legs is something Robinson IMO could never do with one punch.Quote:

Wow!!!! True Robinson had KO power in both hands..But, Hearns was friggin devastating!!!! of course it could be because of the whole recency thing....Quote:

Yeah Mayor was an animal at that weight. Now that I think of it how KT, Cotto, PBF, Zab, among other WW would do against Mayorga ( well the won that show up against Vernon Forrest.
In my mind Hearns was the hardest puncher at welterweight and maybe even with Robinson. But Hearns had the best right hand that is for sure. And to another point, someone mentioned Mayorga in the list. Mayorga is not on the list. The only good guy he ever beat was Forrest. He really has not been very good. He is a wild swinging guy with no real defense. Talk about overrated. He and Buddy McGirt.

Hearns Vs Mayorga would have been good while it lasted....
If Mayorga did not catch Tommy with one of those I hope this lands bombs early the straight right would send him into retirement
Gotta go with Hearns no question.
Duran was a terror at LW, and while he did punch hard at WW, he was not on the level of a Thomas Hearns. Tommy's right hand was just a cannonball.
It's gotta be the Hitman.... No not Ricky ;)

Also Gene was welterweight champion before moving up so I don't see how he could become that with 4 fights at welterweight. Regardless Gene came into middleweight fights at about 154 for a long time, and Robinson stopped Olsen late from what I remember. I can't see Robinson doing what Hearns did to Duran period. Or what Duran did to Moore.
