Will you doubters, change your view of him??
Yes but still needs to face Kessler then he has nothing left to prove if he beats Taylor and Kessler but doubt he will with them hands of his :-\Quote:

apperently DiBella and Palle is meeting face-to-face
I believe taylor vs kessler would have a better chance of happening for the simple fact kessler would go to the US to fight him where Calzaghe seems to want everybody to run to him.
A Viking (warrior) travels the world for war .. ;-)
Would you say the same about an American fighter fighting in US that had been World Champion for 10 years??Quote:

Whereas those of us that have followed his entire career realise although it's disappointing the big fights haven't happened there have been some legit excuses along the way.
CC for that mateQuote:

Ive not liked him since 1996 when he fought Mark Delaney in his 17th pro fight lets have it right Jeff Lacy was overrated it was a good win but not a great win the thing with Taylor is he is a middleweight who has recently been fighting lightmiddles and when going backwards does'nt really throw much i think if Calzaghe beats him he won't get as much credit as people think Kessler is the better match but going on his last fights i think Calzaghes done and i think Taylor UD12 and Kessler stops him late

I still think his display over Lacy was a brilliant peice of boxing and, to put it this way, will probably serve to be the most emphatic ass whopping Lacy will ever receive.Quote:

Now,
I wanna say something.....
Ive got a big problem with the spin that this Palle bloke (or whatever his name is) has been talking.
Talking about 'Kessler will accept terms and conditions of "complete parity" or a 50-50 all revenue split'.
What an utter pile of dog crap! That is not what i expect to hear from Kessler. >:mad
How does he manage to consider himself a bigger ticket seller than Calzaghe?
Calzaghe sold 35,000 fighting some one who is such a looser, he went on a show to compete with another bucnh of loosers and finished 2nd!
So i'll ask again... How does he manage to consider himself a bigger ticket seller than Calzaghe? Because that, surely is the only thing that has an affect on a purse split, right? Who's the bigger draw.
So here's my thoughts on Kessler:
Kessler, you aint anywhere near a 10-year long, 20-defence champion filling out National stadiums yet.
You don't deserve 50%!
And whats this crap about by-passing Joe to fight Taylor? Wow...And what ??? Who will be next? Calzaghe. Waiting in Cardiff. Right were you left him when you was asking for half.
:shakehead:
I think Kessler deserves 50/50 if he comes to fight here giving Calzaghe home advantage and lets not forget Kessler has the 2 world title WBC/WBA 50/50 is fair
So? He beat a Mundine who is no where near the fighter he is today and Beyer, who is far removed from the fighter he was yesteryear... Which wasn't much IMO.Quote:

So i really don't think 50/50 is far unless your blinkered and only looking at the past 6 months.
Well said Jimboo
The 50/50 all in split is a joke. And Palle knows it too ;)
But Calzaghe has home advantage its give and take
Phhff, it takes longer to travel from Little Rock to Las Vegas than it does Copenhagen to Cardiff ;)Quote:

You could always put a little icing on the cake for the winner and give him a little bit mo'.
50/50 is fair it does'nt matter how far Kessler is traveling Calzaghe is still in his backyard if Frank is turning his nose up at 50/50 he is just using it as an excuse not to make the fight with Kessler and before you guys slag Kesslers world title fights look at Calzaghes and it tuck Calzaghe years to get a unification fight
How many times has Kessler fought on British TV?
he gave Lacy a boxing lesson from start to finish. he won every round and i give joe alot of props for that. nobody thought lacy was a great fighter. he fun to watch but not great. joe made lacy look like the average fighter that alot of people said he was.
i already respect calzaghe so him beating taylor would be icing on the cake.
I just don't remeber these people before the fight ???Quote:

No talk of Kessler then and that was just a year ago.
Hopefully the countless threads on Lacy - Calzaghe are still archived somewhere.
I dont think that Taylor does anything for Joe's legacy. He is a US name but to me it seems he has gones backwards when you compare him from the B-hop fights to how he has fought the last couple of time out. IMO Joe has to fight Kessler and win to really cement the legacy he wants. If he doesnt fight Kessler then he will go down as a good/great fighter that never got to prove his abilities. I think he has a chance at the HOF but I dont think he is a lock just yet.

Anyone who says 'No' has got to be just a hater on Joe, even I that at this moment dont rate him highly after the wins hes had.
Would recognize that beating Taylor would defenitely mean something and would definetely earn him respect....
Yeah, I mean it would be clearly the biggest win of his career.
Its easy to say that Taylor doesn't always look impressive but he has beaten Hopkins twice and drew with Winky. Even though I haven't always agreed with those decisions he was obviously competitive with two great fighters.
That being said, I'd be shocked if it happened. Why would Taylor move up a weight class, to fight the best guy there in his first fight, in his hometown, when Warren is offering a shitty amount of money. I mean 4 million is a ridiculous amount to us but Taylor can make that fighting welterweights and jr. mids in Little Rock. Unless Warren ups the offer, then its just an "offer" meant to be refused so he could say look Taylor's ducking Joe.

calzaghe has the wbo and THE RING belt, the ring belt being the biggest belt to the true fans since the days of the one and only belt per devision.Quote:

Calzaghe has never faced anyone nearly as good as Winky or B-Hop; Taylor's done it three times. In a row! I don't like watching Taylor, and he's definitely got flaws--but he's still levels better than anyone Joe's ever fought. And if Joe could do what B-Hop and Winky (the #1 and #3 P4P fighters in the world at the time of those fights, mind you) were unable to do--score a convincing win over Taylor--you'd be a fool not to regard him very highly.
cc some very good points. I was high on Taylor right after his fights with B-hop and Wright but have soured on him since. But you are right we cant take anything away from Joe IF he fights Taylor and beats (convincingly) him. He would have done what two other HOFers were not able to do.Quote:

i admit that i pick lacy because of lack of knowledge on calzaghe but myself and alot of other people always talked about how one deminsional and easy to hit lacy was. i wouldn't say lacy was all hype. he just exploited a weak division. i don't remember anybody saying he was P4P or anything like that. he's an entertaining fighter that fought often.Quote:

Froch would stop this Irkin in 8. I think Joe will never fight anyone because he wont travel, he changes his tune daily, after the Bika fight he was saying his next fight could well be his last fight on british soil, then he beats Manfredo and says why does he need to travel when he gets 35000 fans????? I hope Itv drop warren and his crappy network so he can go grovelling abck to Sky.Quote:
