TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
Message from Tito Ortiz via myspace
"Dana White has once again taken the low road and decided to try to damage my reputation and credibility in a public forum. During an appearance on Spike TV on April 12th White accused me of failure to show up for a fight we had originally scheduled for March 24th. He did so at the end of the program and gave me no opportunity to respond or tell the real story, which is simply this: White was fully informed well in advance of March 24th that I would not fight without a contract, which White refused to sign.
Fighting is my livelihood and jeopardizing my body without a full understanding of conditions, doesn't make any sense. No professional fighter will go into a match without a contract.
Ive struggled to get respect and dignity for my profession and I do it in the way I lead my life as a fighter and as a human being. Danas attitude not only disrespects me, but all fighters. I am taking this stand just not for this one incident, but for all future champions.
I want to reiterate: I am ready to settle my differences with Dana White in any fighting forum we can agree on, but only if there is a signed contract that stipulates where the money is going, whether it is to charity or to the fighters doesnt matter as much as having a definitive agreement.
Until Dana White is ready to fight me on a professional basis, I strongly urge him to keep his mouth shut.
Thoughts on his response?

:lolhaha:
thats the funniest shit i've heard all day..the truth is this little charade is bad for MMA. The UFC and Dana have made huge strides to make MMA a mainstream and respected sport. having stupid events like this only makes the UFC look like a professional wrestling org. We don't need this kind of spectacle...I could care less about the whole thing

Regardless of that though, I do think it was very underhanded of Dana to make that entire special to make Tito look bad and himself look like Rocky Balboa :-\
Re: TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
tito is banging jenna jameson? wow that is news to me, just got to say don't get attach to a girl like that just bang her as long and as often as you can then when its over its over.
Re: TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
Tito's response was too long. "Fuck off, Dana White, we both know I would knock your ass out." would have worked much better. Ortiz's big bitch is over a contract? I thought the hype showed him and White signing one? Who cares. I do not like Tito at all, he's a punk, and he is indeed dating a complete slut, a hot one, but slut none the less in Jenna Jameson. However, I truly believe he would kick Dana White's ass bad, and should do so.
Re: TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
I think Tito needs to stick to fighting and not try to make MMA respectable.
He says some really silly crap. All the grandstanding for the fans, etc... Just show up and fight that's what people want. Tito shouldn't be trying to be a spokesman.
I think that Dana decided to televise the fight, and he was keeping to the schedule. Once Tito didn't show up it was too late to back out, so most of that stuff was already filmed and edited. I don't think Dana made Tito look bad, I think he was portrayed pretty positively until he didn't show for the weigh in.
So Tito wanted money for his sparring session with Dana? Seems to me like he is trying to change the terms after he seen it would get some publicity.

You do know the bout was for charity right? Something Dana White "forgot" to mention in that documentary..

Didn't know that. From the documentary it sounded like it started out as a closed door sparring session. The sanctioning was unexpected. They kind of got caught by Nevada and had to get it approved. My impression was that it turned into alot more than it was intended to be. Either way I still think Tito needs a public relations person to tell him to keep quiet and be a fighter. Fans like him for fighting, not talking. The average fan has no idea what he's talking about with the drama anyway. Percentage wise of those that watch UFC less than 10% would know any of the behind the scenes stuff.

yeah but Dana "forgetting" to mention it was for charity(a stipulation HE added) makes me know that most of the story isn't even in that documentary. Just what Dana wants people to know.
Re: TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
Dana can make all the specials he want's and say what ever he want's about Tito....we all know it is BullS***......Tito would beat the life out of Dana and everyone knows that......no tv special will change that....If this does happen White just needs to hope somewhere Tito does not decide to go allout onhim and leave him in the ring beaten and bloody

I thought the whole show was just a shameless self promotional piece from Dana White. My favourite bit was when he had to get the Nevada's State Athletic commison approval and they said they felt that they didn't really want to sanction it as they felt it was merely some kind of cheap publicity act.
Then Dana and his associate assured the commision that they were not at all doing this for promotional purposes...
Umm...ok...so the TV crew that were attending the meeting just 'happened' to be in the building right Dana ::**

Way to keep things "under wraps" Dana ::**
Re: TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
Anyone believe that they will still fight? I do.
Re: TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
I didn't see it as a cheap publicity stunt. I seen it as a brilliant publicity stunt. We are all talking about this thing and we all watched the whole damn thing.
I think Dana said. "If I am gonna get my ass beat, I might as well get some advertising out of it".
Also as a business man I think the UFC partnership with Spike tv is brilliant. That is why they are packing the houses for every event they do, and have tons of sponserships. They are running their business well, and whether it was for publicity or not, you won't see Don King or Bob Arum getting in the ring with any of their pissed off former fighters.
But damn I would pay to see Don King in the ring with Mike Tyson, or ODH vs Bob Arum. There's some marketing that boxing could copy from...... :o
Re: TITO ORTIZ BREAKS HIS SILENCE!!!
I can't stand Dana White! In that show he said,"Tito let me out?" like he was gonna do something.
That was probably the best news Dana ever recieved.
Dana is a bigger shit talker than even Tito! Before the Hughes vs St.Peirre fight,Dana said that "Hughes was the best pound for pound fighter in the world".Then he got destroyed!
Before the St.Peirre vs.Serra fight he said that St.Peirre was the best pound for pound fighter in the world, and he got KTFO!Who's next Genius?
(sorry for the spelling,I suck at it!)

well I think Dana should take a back seat to his fighters. I dont' like his "vince mcmahon" type persona. I think its bad for MMA. His antics although gain headlines only add to what some people see as a professional wrestling atmosphere. That being said at the time GSP fought Hughes only Fedor could claim to be a more dominant champion than matt. and before the GSPvs serra fight many people were lauding George as one of the best fighters in the world. While the Hughes gsp fight wasn't such a shock I think the betting odds were on the champs in both fight.
