He's been champ for nearly 10 year and most people only recognize him for his win over Lacy i think myself Joe Calzaghe is overrated in 20 defences he has'nt really fought any major league fighters at the top of there game it could be because he won't go and fight in the states or the fact that Warren does'nt deliver but Warren can't be held fully to blame these are Calzaghes 21 world title fights he must be so proud of himself.

You Sir talk sense i thought it was just me and a few others in the UK who think Calzaghe is a waste of time , i don't need to point out how weak his opponent's have been as you already have :)
BUT I DID THIS A WEEK AGO TRY THIS GUYS.
Go to the records section on this web homepage and choose any of Calzaghes opponent's and look how poor they have been since they fought him. Its a hoot most ere novice bums and there records prove this thanks for the memories FRANK WARREN YOU TOSSER :)

Ottke was an absolute pile of sh1t and so has the division being - but that's not JC's fault.
Yeh, if it was me, perhaps I would've looked for more lucrative fights elsewhere, but as frustrated as I am with Calzaghe and his career path, I still think he is the absolute bollox of a fighter - but I suppose we will never know if that is really true :-\

Got to say CF looks goos offensively, but he hangs his chin out to dry and if he gets caught flush by a top 10 fighter, he is gonna get sparked!!

Well i have no idea how hell Cf got number 3 when he has beaten domestic fighters or nobodys and i've said this in another thread already Roy Jones vs Calzaghe if he can't get that then maybe fight Froch but really Froch is another overrated prospect who if Calzaghe beat now would get no credit.

You can say the same thing for JC though? who on earth is PM? a contender at light middle not super middle! i know CF would spark him out with 5 rounds for sure! I personally want him to fight Kessler! i would be happy with that IMO he is the number 3 at 168, and it therefore makes sense to fight him baring in mind JT isnt going to fight and for the big name which i am truely against RJJ! I really think its the fight that should be made if the other 3 cant be made?

Although not world beaters - Mkrtchian, Veit and Bika (Bika fight was terrible timing) were'nt bad fighters.
And if people are trumpeting bloody Ottke then Starie gave him a decent argument whereas Starie made the Calzaghe fight as UGLY as possible, as his only hope was to survive without being KO'd.

Skel look at the whole July situation as this, 1) JC cant get a fighter 2) froch wants the fight and he is a top 5 fighter 3) it will get a lot of intrest in britain 4) it will be a good fight. If Kessler was ready for it i would like to see JC fight Kessler. But i dont want JC fighting another bum like PM or fighting Inkin because i know the Froch fight is the toughest possible one he could take for the July match up right ?

Yes i agree its a good fight on paper but say Calzaghe totally domiantes him do you really think people like you will eb saying Calzaghe is a great fighter one of the best after that performance it would more likely be Froch was not ready and not good enough etc etc.

He asked me about list of all Calzaghe's opponents not just Calzaghe's last 3 opponents.

this is by far the best boxing forum on the net. One of the main reasons people all have their different opinions, the likes of Vd Daxxkahn are very anti calzaghe, but when they post they post selectively and although i don't always agree 99% of the time make references as to why they make such remarks or back them up with certian reasons. You on the other hand must of used half of your posts starting threads or posting comments on about calzaghe without ever once being able to explain just why other than hate.
You made a thread not long ago talking about him being CRAP... even tho you rate reid who, even if you believe beat him, it was a razor thin win. Lacy, brewer, mitchel, Bika, Eubank NONE of them were crap, but by your reasonon, after lossing to calzaghe all by mostly one sided descisions it would make them absolutley fuckign terreble. So when you make remarks like that its the ripple in the pond effect not just the fighter you refer to.
Yet you send me pms or make posts with shit like "can we be friends" or "why do you pick on me" as if i personally go after you for making posts on calzaghe - when personally i don;t give to fucks who you post on. Its the fact your posts are so absurt and some times just laughable that brings a person to question you as this IS a public forum where posts get questiond or attacked when persons do not agree with you.

I don't know where your'e from...but boxing is boxing & you need to look towards America & the other countries where there high profile champs have fought fighters on the same level & have also never left their backyards.
I'm American...& trust me...Hopkins, Jones jr, & Floyd (all my favorites) do the very same thing that Joe does.

B-Hop was a Middleweight who would not move up, RJJ was already a Light Heavy. But yes I agree if one of them wanted to become Super Middleweight Champion of the world they should've come over here and fought the champ ;)

Dude...America is bigger than the Entire continent of Europe!!! So by fighting in the US is like fighting all over Europe and then some....Most of the US States are as big as entire countries..so when a fighter goes out of state to fight he is, in a sense, going to another country to fight......so don't try to pull the "In their backyard" that is total bull pockey!!! It's apples and oranges bro......

I agree Joe has wasted his talent fighting at home but he obvioulsy makes the big $$$$$ there, it's easy for people to say look at the Mexicens etc etc but the thing is Mexico is next door to the States and there is no money figthing in Mexico, Britain is a rich country and Calzaghe is probably getting £1 million a fight easily, but in boxing terms he should make the step surely he has a few mil in the bank now and he's 35 so if he goes over say fights Hopkins and gets beat he can retrie, but Joe is always mentioning money which aint a good sign for us fight fans wanting to see the big fights.Jermaine Taylor couldnt knock a wank out ;D
