sell tickets in Memphis!

Charismatic middleweight contender Edison 'Pantera' Miranda, checked in today from his training camp in Puerto Rico after another grueling workout in preparation for his May 19th bout with Kelly Pavlik, to send a message to Jermain Taylor. "I'm concerned that the fans of Memphis are paying a lot of money for tickets to our show on May 19th because they think they're going to see a middleweight championship fight, but really, that's false advertising because you're just fighting another junior middleweight," said the always quotable Miranda about Taylor's title defense against Cory Spinks, who is making his 160 pound debut. "So I'm willing to move my fight with Pavlik into the main event spot, and you can be on my undercard. This way the fans get what they paid for, we'll probably sell even more tickets, and you get to see two REAL middleweights fight."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miranda, 28-1 with 24 KOs, has been must-see TV for fight fans from the time he arrived on US shores in 2005. Since then, he has knocked out contenders and former title challengers, beat down a rising star, dropped a title shot via a controversial decision, and received the blessing of middleweight legend Bernard Hopkins, who passed the 160-pound torch to the 26-year old. On May 19th, he battles unbeaten power puncher Kelly Pavlik in a highly-anticipated showdown. "This is a fight between a man and a boy, but if the fans want to see it, I'm glad to knock Pavlik out," said Miranda. "My only concern is that I will be so impressive that Taylor will give up his belts rather than face me. That's okay though, because eventually, he'll have to step into the ring with me, and from the first time I hit him, he'll know that I'm no junior middleweight."
Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooly shit man...now that right there is funny...I don't keer who ya are.

The fact that Miranda needs a translator to get his point across takes some of the sting out of his words.

Ha! :appl:
While I applaude ya...I totally disagree. Translator or not...that was some hardcore shit.
I'll guarantee ya that once ole' "Stuttering Stanley" hits the press, he'll need a translator after reading that.

Dont hold back Miranda tell us what you really feel....Pavlik has some extra motivation after that remark.Have they done the press thing for it..or are they just talking trash on the phone, I wanna see what Kelly has to say about that ;)

Man do I dig Miranda. I've said it before, he's great for boxing. I just hope he's not looking past Pavlik, I hope he sparks him and gets his shot at Taylor.

I can't wait til Pavlik shuts his mouth!

Re: Miranda offers to help Taylor sell tickets in Memphis! PRICELESS!!!
Miranda is fishing for a pay day. Regardless who Taylor is fighting now; his resume is so much more impressive than Miranda's that it is quite silly. Taylor deserves a couples gimme fights I think. I like Miranda too, but I think he should respect the big ackward Taylor a little.
Re: Miranda offers to help Taylor sell tickets in Memphis! PRICELESS!!!
Miranda just when a spot in my estimation of him, and that was already very high, he makes a great point though, Taylor is just another HBO cash cow, and they're milking it dry, nearly beaten 3 times (IMO beat all 3 times but saved by the judges) by legitimate middleweights, and now they've moved him onto blown up light middleweights, against Ouma he was lazy, and squeaked it out, then turns down $4m plus extras (% of live gate AND PPV) to fight Calzaghe and never gives 100% in his fights, he's not doing much for me at the minute and I don't think that'll change any time soon.
Re: Miranda offers to help Taylor sell tickets in Memphis! PRICELESS!!!
Even if you think he lost all three times (which I am certain he lost at least one fight to Winky. Of course), the fact that it is even debatable means Taylor is the real deal. SOmething the Miranda has yet to prove with certainty.

:lolhaha: - Thats all I can say
What will DiBellas puppet say next? ???

Fair point, I just wish the "real deals" in the sport would face each other more often ;)

First off, I am a huge Pavlik fan and IMO, Pavlik will be the winner of an excellent fight. Not a huge Miranda fan, but I think he is good for the sport. He is an exciting fighter and not afraid to say anything. One of the best self-promoters the sport has had in a long time. Taylor needs to start fighting true middleweight contenders. To be a champion, you need to fight like one in every fight against contenders of that division. No gimme fights.

cc bro nice comments.
Miranda has never impressed me though! He is a damn good self-promoter but I hate his dirty tactics.
Abraham with a broken jaw almost stopped him in the 8th of their bout.
Pavlik will end it inside the distance!
