Cool Time for the American Sports
One of my favorite times of the year, with a little spice added as the Warriors are ONE GAME AWAY FROMMAKING THE NBA PLAYOFFS!
Something I've honestly never seen as a Warriors fan.
But you got the NHL Playoffs going on, which are the most exciting playoffs in all of sports. The Sharks are beating that Nashville ass 8) I think we're gonna get a HUGE brawl in this one soon. Two teams known mosly for speed, usually don't fight so much but they really hate each other. Very charged games.
NBA playoffs are just around the corner. Warriors would be 1 and done in all likelyhood but they play the Mavs good, beat them the last 5 times out but tonights victory has a pretty big asterisk beside it. Excited to see what the Cavs can do. They were in the two best series of last year, with the Wiz and Pistons. They could go with the Heat in round 1. Those 2 make for more entertaining games then any other pairing in the league imo. Should be awesome.
Then of course the MLB season is starting. Big Giants fan and they are a frustrating bunch but the rotation is going to be among the best in the NL imo. And that Jackie Robinson tribute in LA was absolutely awesome. Hated the Dodgers and Jackie hated the Giants, actually refused to play for us, but that was awesome. Honestly got me choked up when Rachel Robinson was talking.
The NFL draft is just a week away. Interested to see where Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson go. The 9ers look on track to get Alan Branch which would be awesome. 8 picks in 4 rounds, talk of trading down to the late 1st/early second to get a receiver which there are a TON OF this year. Meacham, Jarret, Smith and my personal favorite Duane Bowe all are projected to go in that area. Bowe reminds me of Anquan Boldin, always has. He's been through 3 different QB's at LSU and has looked stellar with all of them. I think he is going to make the most immediate impact kind of like what Boldin did.
And of course, MAYWEATHER - DE LA HOYA JUST WEEKS AWAY!
Anyone else love this time of year?
Definitely posted this in the wrong board :dunce:

Re: Cool Time for the American Sports
Didn't see the Ducks new terrible logo squished between the two big pics. Would have loved to see 99 score a few. That's the thing I HATE about the NHL schedule is they cycle through the opposite conference divisions year in and year out kind of like the NFL does. For example, the Sharks are in the West, so they play every western conference team a certain number of times, then the divisional opponents like twice that number and then fill the remainder of the games with 1 division from the opposite conference. So the Sharks aren't going to have Crosby come to our building but once every four years. And with the amount of games they play in the NHL, that's unacceptable.
And yeah I'm the S. That's before we went to the game, at the fat one's house ;D Got a shitload of catholic girls riding our nuts (mainly just the last 3 ;D) that night 8) One of them was actually the daughter of the owner of Its Its, and she sent us 2 cases afterwards.

And thats whats put the NHL behind is schedules and the (Lock outs) haven't helped much either TBH after this last one I really stopped paying too much attention to it dropped down the NHL in my interests of sports.
;D
Heres how I follow my sports:
1) Boxing, *Soccer & Tennis cause they are year round sports
2) Basketball, Baseball & Football since they are seasonal
3) Anything else NHL, Golf, **Horse Racing
*I follow the Mexican League, Spanish, English & Italian check up on it.
**I watch the Santa Anitas mainly Sat. & Sun. mornings as I wake up.
(sorry no nascar ONLY if Danika is racing :lickish: )

Re: Cool Time for the American Sports
My favorite time of the year for sports is Football season man college and professional. Its starts in Sep the official season anyway, even though I do still follow the preason. I can't wait. The draft is coming up in a couple weeks and I can't wait either.

Re: Cool Time for the American Sports
im really only a fan of football and boxing but i'll watch basketball and baseball games here and there, especially the playoffs. But yes april is one of the best times for american sports. And for the record global warming is a lie because if it wasn't i wouldn't be able to turn on the tv during spring and summer and see a bunch of crackers drive cars at 200 mph in a circle over and over and over.

I was a fake Warriors fan when they made the playoffs with Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway, Chris Webber and Latrell Sprewell.
Never liked NBA basketball before or after that team

Was watching something else, actually it was Wednesday Night Fights when they broke in with that actually. Only one walk to Sosa, and he picked him off. Almost a perfect game. Buerhle had a rough year last year good to see him do good for himself.

Speaking of pitchers, I'm just glad we got rid of Zito :D I like the guy but he wasn't constint he was always up and down and never caught onto a rythim.
And I sure Am glad wepicked up Piazza 8) we beat our rivals yesterday (Angels) 3-0 :)
-
Re: Cool Time for the American Sports
Zito is awesome. I'm glad the Giants picked him up, made up for a rather dreadful offseason in terms of free agent signings. Schmidt is on the tail end of his career and Zito is good for 15 wins almost guaranteed. And that curve is just awesome 8)
But the guy you have to watch out for is Matt Cain. Had an awesome season last year, a great tail end to the year before and he's really going to become a star in the league this year imo. I like Haren for the A's too.
If only the Giants bullpen didn't blow.

Yeah! it is I've seen it at a game sitting just behind 3rd base I'll see if I have those picture on my PC when I get home.

Haren & Harden and well almost all of our bullpen kicks ass thats probably our strong point and has been.
I mean Blaton, Desuchner & Street are just smokin' and have done wonders for us.

Re: Cool Time for the American Sports
little over a week b4 the draft i cant wait to see who gb picks up
-
Re: Cool Time for the American Sports
GB has to go Running Back....can't go for the whole season with Vernand Morency taking the carries!!!!!
MARSHAWN LYNCH....(I would also pick Michael Bush from Louisville in the later rounds....he's a BEAST he will have difficulty this year returning from a broken leg but he'll eventually pay off 6'2 245-250 and pretty QUICK too)
-
Re: Cool Time for the American Sports
im not entirely sold on lynch if they could get peterson it would be like ahman green never left (really fast, strong, carrying issues and injury prone). They need a wide receiver this year is really deep so that could leave a window open for a good one in the second round. If they were smart they would've picked up michael turner instead of risking a pick on a questionable back.

I don't think labron james can take the cavs to the finals ever.
out of the class of carmelo anthony labron james and Dwade. i think only Dwade is a winner.
but them Mavs are solid though. I hope the rockets stop them. and i hope the nets reach the finals too.
