I was thinking about this today, would have he gone in the ring with Klit and got a beating? Or what he have had so much motivation and maybe stop him? Or would he have even risked getting killed by him? I know it probably wont get a lot of attention but im curious to know.
If he would of fought Vitali he would of lost if he would of fought Wlad its possible for him to get lucky punch but otherwise Wlad outboxes him with his height advantage and long reach.Quote:

hey tam, i think if tyson had beaten williams, he would have got a shot, but i dont think he would have risked vitali, i think he would have gone 4 a lesser fighter such as, chrs byrd, or brewster. and might just pulled off the win. but as soon as he lost he would have lost his hunger all over again, tyson has never been that hungry since he lost to buster douglas.
hunger is a majot thing in boxing and if you have lost it, you may as well stop fighting. Its a risk to a fighters legacy and i do believe if a boxer has a full desire to win he can go very far. its stating the obvious but if Tyson had that before the Danny williams fight he could have gone further!
Thats the thing with boxing tho, after a fight people start to think well, what if he had won instead! Sometimes somebody off a lesser ability can beat somebody who is world class, with more hunger and a bigger heart. A big heart is the best weapon in boxing, but can also be a bad thing!
mike doesn't have it mentally anymore, its better that he lose and keep away from boxing.
I think a motivated Tyson could have beaten both Wlad and Vitali he has'nt been motivated for years not even for Lewis
I agree with you there julius but wouldnt it have been kool to see Tyson as champ make a few defences and then call it quits? I would prefer that than see him get beat by McBride and see McBride get KILLED! by some by named Mollo. Sad really.
It is said tam, but at the end off the day i think if tyson had not gone to jail he might just have been one of the best of all time, look at him now, $40m in debt and getting in trouble again!

at that stage of his career i really dont think it would've changed much. As i've said previously i've seen evidence that tyson was starting to fade by the end of his initial 19 ko streak and only winning the title and becoming the youngest champ kept him going for alittle longer but he was done in 1990. Yeah douglas put on a hell of a preformance but it wasnt the same tyson.
Im a massive Tyson fan when he lost to a pug like Williams i could of cried but i put it down to his knee injurie i saw him wince in pain in round 1 but when he sat on canvas and looked miles away i knew that was it end of a great heavyweight champ and my childhood

ali said tyson was a true champ and is one of the greatest of all time. ali even said if they had fought prime vs prime if tyson caught him he'd be knock out. but ali insisted tyson would have to catch him first.
i saw it at youtube.com a few days ago.
they talk about reverse pyscology too, how ali was the godfather of mind games, and how tyson adopted it from ali but tyson came of as more aggressive and more of a beast. i think behind tyson crazy interviews his whole character that he put on, i always thought he was a great champ but was a trouble person. if he would of stayed focus on boxing without the b.s in his life, tyson would of continued to knock out oppenents. I don't think anyone could of stop him.

That fight was the knee injury. Without a doubt. However, that fight ruined him mentally. Prior to that his greatness was over just like everyone says, and he was just good. But he could compete at the upper echelon and be competetive he lacked the desire to win at the top level.Quote:

Yes at one point motivation has something to do with it... but honestly his tools are gone, he has the good power now (not great) but you see everything coming now thats the diffrence combinations are rastically reduced and well his defense is not even 60 percent of what it once was, face it hes old some of you guys dont realize this, I guy the other day on youtube was talking how holyfield wasnt a great fighter cause he lost to james toney and that tyson would kill toney, of course he would in his prime both men would but tyson lost to kevin mcbride for godsake and danny williams for godssake, holyfield to larry donald and christ byrd! I agree with some of which you have all said, at one time I was a huge tyson fan still am but.. I seriously have doubts about Mike even a prime one, mentally i think he could unravel a bit had he have ever been challenged, once quit enters your mind it doesnt go away, i think atlas is kind of right in that tyson made what he refers to as silent contracts in their in his losses to lewis holyfield, he really didnt go for broke, what people tend to forget is tyosn was as good as he was forbecause of his defense being as good as his offense and in a tough fight his instinct is to become defensive to not take chances and absorb punishment to hit you when you cant hit him, in tought fights you cant always do that.
In all honesty, I don't put much into the knee injury story from the Williams loss. Mike walked out of the fight fine like Williams said, then used it as an excuse. Yes, you can see him sort of hurt his knee in the fight, but it was not a HUGE deal. Mike threw everything he had at a very determined Williams, who survived it, then hurt Tyson, who was not nearly as up for the fight or determined as Williams and Mike essentially said "Fuk it" and quit. It is what it is.
yo guys i was at YANKEE DOODLES this hot spot in santa monica promenade that night watching this fight and everyone in the sports bar was like WTF???????
i remember calling everyone up and telling them that tyson just got knocked out and everyone at the promenade was like stairing at me with their jaws dropped in shock.
i also remember one of my boys just dropped the phone on me cuz he was in vegas and about to put $100 on williams just for the odds cuz it was a 9 to 1 under dog situation.
he was so pissed he just hung up the phone on me hahaha
but yea if tyson beat danny i think he would of went on to beat some more journey men and build up his confidence and keep active and would probably land a title shot against one of the weaker abc belts. cuz vitali had the wbc at the time and would not of been good for this post prime tyson to take on a prime vitali.
also i remember the financial team of tyson planned to have tyson fight 7 times in the next 3 years in order to dig him out of debt. so im sure if he got past williams he'd fight 6more journey men atleast to get out of the debt hole at least!
tyson beat williams then face vitali then lose to him.
mate the danny williams that faught tyson was a totally different fighter to the one that got beaten up by vitali. if danny went into the title fight witht that mentality he would have really stood a good chance. so there is no reason to realy beleive that tyson would have lost to vitali. had his knee held up i would have picked tyson.Quote:
