Re: who was the best in there prime?
Best boxer all-time SRR.
Most avoided I'm gonna have to think about that one.
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
Sugar Ray Robinson, I know thats the "trendy" answer to give but really I can't see giving that honor to anyone over him. I really can't.
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
Im with Mick here Sugar Ray Robinson
Most avoided fighter since ive been following boxing i started when i was 5 im 26 now i would say Herol Graham was an avoided fighter Hagler and leonard wanted nothing to do with him
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
I can see why Herol was avoided, he was slicker than grease
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
SRR to me is hands down the best P4P..as far as most avoided I'm sure there is someone more significant, but Winky has been ducked alot until just recently

I just think la motta was the beta boxer frm him and robinson, had more heart, did you know that in the last fight they had he decided to let robinson pound him to prove he couldnt get him dwn? course you did u seen raging bull! but did u now that we was also drinking brandy in between rounds robinson couldnt knock ova la motta when he was drunk! I said oboh as most avoided fighter coz he has been in the last few years not surprised tho ne one else seen him box?

Not a bad choice their Mick because Hopkins did'nt want anything to do with him and Tito and De La Hoya ignored him well

Cheers mate yep old Graham was ducked by Eubank and others at that time because Herol Graham made you look terrible i mean how many people can say they lost razor thin decision to prime Mike McCallum.

Herol was class and i was a fan as a kid he used to have a jewerllers in Sheffield and every saturday i would wave to him while i was shopping with my mum and he always waved or spoke and said hi a great man

Re: who was the best in there prime?
Robinson had to move from lightweight to welterweight to get a friggin title shot!!!!
Sam Langford is probably a good answer...as is Sonny liston (Patterson didn't HAVE to give him a shot)
But then again title holders that Floyd mayweather Jr COULD have fought at his various weight classes are also pretty high up there
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
Langford was avoided BIG TIME. From the sounds of it so was Charlie Burley.
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
my favorite prime fighters;
jack "death dealer" dempsey
"iron" mike "tiger" tyson
manny "phuk u up" pacquiao
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
I would say ALI best in their prime because..........................................w e never even seen a PRIME ALI he was robbed of his prime years so what we seen of him at his best wasnt even his prime, so there for a PRIME ALI is the GOAT!!!!!!!!!! hollaaaaaaaaaaar ;)
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
I'd have to say Sugar Ray Robinson or Joe Louis.
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
Cliche but SRR was all time best
Most avoided is imo Mike"The Body Snatcher"McCallum
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
SRR and Joe Louis were probably the best. The most dominate at one time, was probably Roy Jones Jr.
-
Re: who was the best in there prime?
The best has to be SRR smooth skills-power he had the lot and so many fights also:)
Most avoided Joe Calzaghe , think about it 20 defences and yet to fight a good fighter :)
Seriously most avoided of modern time Winky Wright / Mike Mccallum both greats by the way .

Re: who was the best in there prime?
Pound for pound ......Sugar Ray Robinson. There entire career ......Ali.
But for my generation I would say Mike Tyson.
