Sooooo it looks like Joes gonna take the 'ol Im retiring cause I'm injured role...... :beat:
Wot a fwocking loser!
I mean does he not realise hes hurting his own legacy with the sh*t! hes done/doing with his career ???
FAGGING out of a fight with Carl Froch i think ;D
Man why does this crap have to happen. I really want to see Joe fight someone good for christ sake. I bet he pulls a vitali. retires then comes back when he's healed. This is sad to me man because he's robbing us fans at some really good fights.
Did any of you read the article ?
It said he'll be back for September and that it was an initial diagnosis and that he sought a second opinion !!!
September just in time for Kessler .
Yes I did.Quote:

So fight with a broken hand ?
If Calzaghe wanted to cop out he could quite easily do it many fighters have retired for lesser reasons but he's still going strong and he's gonna be good for September and that means Kessler baby !!!
No excuses .
Umm not happy but his hands are fucked nothing you can do about it the fight with Manfredo he hardly landed anything and broke his hands even though i wana see big fights i don't think his hands will hold up.
Didn't he cancel a fight with Glen Johnson because of a hand injury? Then fought Manfredo Jr. instead?
Might be wrong, but could of swore that happened.
I believe so but what Calzaghe should do now is fight Kessler in September then retire Kessler has stated that he would be ready for September so Warren better get things going because Calzaghe has one fight left.Quote:

I've no doubt that he'll be back in Sept to face Kessler...Should he fight through the pain barrier (injections etc)?
Maybe, but then he doesn't have to as he's the don at 168 8)
So this is just a case of a bad doctor? >:mad They shouldn't scare people like that.Quote:

macianos doctor told him he would never be able to fight due to a severely injured right hand that required surgery to fix and he did ok. Doctors don't know what they are talking about.
No doctor can tell exactly how long and fully every individual person's body will heal.
The first doctor was only being cautious looking out for Joe's best interests in regards to health.
And the second doctor REALLY wants to see the Kessler fight!
Still leaves me wondering what Warren was thinking, when he was initially demanding ONLY a July date if they were to ever face Kessler.Quote:

As for Calzaghe's hands being in extremely poor condition, it's no news.
Let's just hope he can make at least one more meaningful fight before retiring (and that it'll be the RIGHt fight)
doctors have been wrong in a lot of cases about boxers. The fact that you can seek a different opinion and that someone can look at a health problem two different ways only increases my mistrust of the medical profession. I love watching house because its funny that allergies, the flu, and a stroke can all have headache as their only apparent symptom.Quote:

Im with CMM on this. Too many people already think Calzaghe's a twat, dont prove them right by having another "Oh look at my brittle hands" charade. Keep it under your hat man, people will be impressed when he hammers Kessler, not because he fights on after a moody GP tells him his hands are fooked.
I had a doctor tell me hand wasnt broken because I could just about make a fist. Turned out to be bollocks and I had a couple of broken bones. I played in a cup final a few days after with a lightweight cast on all Gary Lineker like, scored as well, we lost on pens. Now everybody love me please.
Damn!! it's been a while since you and I agreed on something. I think the last time we agreed on something was when we were talking sh*t! about Saddo SteelieQuote:

Anywho! Yeah! I mean I don't hate the guy I think he is skilled (Joe) but this sh*t thats happening is only hurting him, he should have kept it under wraps and continued on to do his thing.
We just lost 2 weeks ago, in penalties also :(Quote:

Maybe if he threw punches with his knuckle impacting rather than the inside of his hand he wouldn't keep breaking them. Just a thought.
Hello?!?!?!!? September!!!! Might be the Kessler fight we all want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah...you can't slap like a b*tch and get away with it forever.....you gotta risk slowing down a bit to throw straight shots..........Broken thumb...and more than once????....man, I remember I bruised mine once....once....and I started turning my punches a little more.....no more bruises.....Quote:

How convenient for him. Now he dose'nt have to under go the embarrassment of Kessler, Roy Jones Jr, or Bernard Hopkins.
You just read a statement...not a quote.Quote:

Tighten up your pannies sister.
From what I remember...he fwocked his hands & they were going to postpone the fight after it was cancelled the first time. When it came back to the negotiating table Johnson wanted his pay upfront due to the fact that he had trainned his ass off for the first fight & the second time that they had asked him was about 2 months out for the second fight.Quote:

Here is the deal, Joe Balls is 35 and not many big paydays are ahead of him.
His hand will heel and he will get Kessler later this year. It's the biggest fight for him
at home. Fighting Jones or Hopkins won't prove a thing. Kessler is the man and Joe needs
him and the $ that will go with it. He beats Kessler and we all have to shut the F... up.
I don't think he will by the way!
Well as I see it a Calzaghe in shape at home would be a favorite against Kessler if it goes the distancen. But I hope Kessler TKO the old man ;DQuote:

Kessler aint the man im pretty certain a Hopkins victory would go down in history as much more significent, cos you know to well if Joe beats Kessler it will be the same reaction as when he beat Lacy Kessler has fought absolutly no one, his best victory was against Mundine who is 50% better now then back then. I want to see Joe against Kessler to prove he is the best in 168, but if Hopkins beats Winky Joe Hopkins wets my appetite much more.Quote:

Interestingly these two guys are the same two who beat Virgil Hill first. Even now I think Roy Jones could do well with Calzaghe. He would have to box and use his speed, but Calzaghe couldn't deal with Jones overall skills.
Yeah i agree that would be a good way to end his career also!Quote:

If his whatever bone is playing up can't he just replace it or better yet just remove his hand completely and replace it with a rubber one or something. All he needs to do is be able to curl into a fist and stick a glove on it!
All these pathetic excuses are just examples of wimpiness and general gutlessness.
Bilbo hes had the problem for years, at the end of the day, you get that with bad technique. But the kid can fight.
