Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
This is another case of young and upcoming vs a late career ex champ with a great record. A very tough one to call. I will be near ringside to cover this one. I am leaning toward the Bull becuase of his work rate (he has little power) and ability to wear his opponents down by superior punch volume. Frietas is a cagey veteran who knows how to use the ring (except against Diego) but I do question his heart after seing him do a "no mas," and then wage a bore fest against Raheem. What do you think? ??? ???

I think the fire that Freitas used to have is gone. Diaz is gonna take the old man to school.

Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
I think Acelino turns back the clock and ko's Diaz late

I agree with pretty the entire post. Raheem fight was a bore fest & I think that the Baby Bull wins this one in a fire fight to the finish.

Diaz vs Freitas
I will be covering the fight from ringside. I'll check back and give you guys an update along with a link to my report.

Re: Diaz vs Freitas
Do you fellas have any thoughts or predictions as to an outcome? Will the baby bull make Freitas cry or will his tears be ones of joy after a big victory? In my opinion Freitas has been a borderline great fighter and if not for a tough loss to Corrales where he appeared to have quit he would probably still be considered one of the best in the sport. Diaz is a tough young fighter who is capable of smothering almost anybody with an overwhelming workrate and limitless stamina. He seems to be getting better everytime out although the knockouts aren't coming as frequently. I like Diaz in a competitive and what I assume to be a very entertaining fight.
What do you guys think?

Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
POPO wins majority points
-
Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
Well i think if Acelino come in top shape mentally and physically, this break might have done him the world of good, i see him stopping Baby Bull mid to late but if not Baby bull gets the decision.
But im sticking my head on the line Acelino KO 9.

Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
Should be a decent fight....Let's see what kind of heart Freitas has left if he gets hurt at all...and let;s see what Diaz can do when in with a strong experienced guy who has been to the dance before.....IMO it is a good fight to tell everyone what each of them has to offer

Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
Baby Bull beats Freitas on points. Outworks the hell out of him. That's option one.
Option two. Baby Bull's chin seems bad ass so far, but maybe hasn't been tested with a puncher like Freitas
Does anyone know if they will be airing this fight on tv azteca?

Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
I'm going with popo on this, diaz don't empress me much.
-
Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
I haven't seen popo since a long time, but this guy could knock out an heavyweight...he has so much power...
He should crush Baby bull, if he doesn't succeed, he should retire....

It was close but in a John Ruiz type of way. Raheem did nothing to win that fight. It was no robbery by any stretch of the imagination. Raheem should have been deducted points several times that fight.

Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
Diaz looked a little fat to me....it's so bad when a boxer of Freitas' stature quits.....mainly because he had quit before.....you can't just quit when the going gets tough.
Freitas is now in my opinion a BUM.....he still had the oppertunity to win that fight and he quit like a little bitch
-
Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
Well from this fight I can say this about the two fighters.
#1) Freitas has very little heart and is done. He should not fight anymore unless it is a final win or two on some C level opponents. You don't quit on your damn stool unless the doctor says you are gonna die from like an emminent heart attack or something if you continue.
#2) Diaz is a workhorse and uses some wicked combinations of hooks and uppercuts. He is a really good pressure fighter and seems to have a pretty good chin too, seeing some of the clean shots landed on him by Acelino Freitas didnt seem to do much to him. I look for him to be in the game for quite some time and seeing he is this good already, who knows how far he can go? Pacquiao and him could be really interesting seeing as Diaz is the bigger guy and Pacquiao...well he's freakin Pacquiao. Can't wait to see if that one materializes.

Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
I don't think Diaz will be too big of a star but he's doing well for himself. I think he needs to get in better shape though

I agree he looks kind of soft and out of shape, but he didnt seem to look out of shape stamina wise as he set a really fast pace in that fight last night and did not look tired at all. I think he will be a huge star one day if he stays in the game.

Freitas is a broken man. What a shame. As good as he was, to turn into a quitter. What a wuss.
-
Re: Baby Bull beats Acelino. What do you think?
What amazed me about Diaz is that he is only 23 years old. He fights paced and smart with controlled aggression. He seems very mature for a young champ. He is going to be a big name in boxing.

Yep. Either Diaz was punchingh heavier or Popo's chin was less able to handle things. Either way, Diaz put on a great show and I enjoyed it immensly while near ring side.

I was there also, did you notice how rapidly the Brazil contingent left?
