Hi All,
I was wondering which boxer has caused the most accidental deaths in their career? Does anyone know?
*Didn't like the way it read so I cleaned it up a bit, just to be respectful.

Oh my god... I cannot believe you asked this question..
Boxers dont go looking to kill people..
When someone dies in the ring its a tradgedy.. And when something like that happens to you.. Your career is almost certainly over..
Yea odd question... But to attempt to answer it, I would doubt that any fighter has killed more than one opponent in the ring.. At least in relatively modern times.. Could be wrong.
I think Max Baer might of bludgeoned 2 guys to death in a Boxing ringQuote:

Emile Griffin wanted to punish Benny Paret but never wanted to kill him. That footage is still hard to watch. No boxer wants any opponent to endure permenant damage.
I hate these kind of topics BUT we can't ignore them as they are part of the sport... OK here goes...
Off the top of my head the more known names that come to mind are: Alan Minter, Lupe Pintor, Barry McGuigan, Marlon Starling, Max Baer, Primo Carnera, Gabriel Ruelas, SRR, Fernando Montiel, Joe Bugner have all been in fatal fights.
Also Jesus Chavez and Ricky Quiles.
Also Ultimino Ramos has fataly been in 2 bouts where his opponents passed away.
even with all the "Blown up violence and falsified facts" Boxing still has far less deaths and injuries than the big contact sports.....Quote:

That's pretty sad to want to see footage where you know it's gonna end fatally.Quote:

Sugar Ray Robinson killed Jimmy Doyle, I remember SRR was saying that he had a nightmare before the fight that he killed Doyle in the ring, and when he woke up he refused to fight. They brought a bunch of people in to talk to him including a priest, and convinced him to fight. Then boom his nightmare comes true and Doyle dies.
Max Baer killed one man in the ring. Another man died 8 weeks later. The refs were mostly to blame back then.
Foreal thats crazy, I never heard of that. Where did you get the info from? thats real interesting :cooclick: bRoQuote:

On the subject of Max Baer deaths, did you guys count Earnie Schaff (sp)? I think he was killed in a bout with Primo Carnera, but most historians attributed it to the blows that he suffered in his fight with Max Baer.
He died as the result of 18 unanswered punches. That says enough. Boxing was banned from being aired on TV for a few years after that fight. It was that grusome.Quote:

Found a link actually. Absolutely shocking.

Ohh.. Hackey not sure if its the same dude ..
But that reminds me of oba carr's trainer.. He was banned from working the corner in most states for removing padding from his fighters glove which resulted in fatality..
What was his trainers name though..
Panama lewis? Was that him? I know it was panama something?!
Peace
just checked your link
Yeahh lol same thing we were talking about!.. I remember the commentators mentioning it when oba carr fought felix trinidad!
Peace
Yeah, it was Panama Lewis, who is one of, if not the, biggest piece of shit in the boxing world (and that's saying something!)Quote:
