Good one Seanie but i think if Roy Jones Jr were to face him and some of others that have been mentioned Jones would win but in what they have achieved Archie Moore and Bob Foster are right up there with Charles and its debatable which one really has achieved most at Light Heavy.
The most devestation Light Heavyweight of All time was Michael Moorer.
20-0 with 20 ko's in the lightweight division. No Light Heavy at the time would fight him
I heard Conn wouldn't fight Ezzard, and he is too slow for Roy... I am not saying Roy is the best lightheavyweight ever, but that is only because he didn't have the best opposition. In terms who is literally the best then its him, but who I would consider the best would not be him. Its like Ray Robinson I don't think he beats everyone who's ever foughten p4p, but because of what he accomplished he would get the title.
Yea but he is more of what might of been his wins at Light Heavy were mostly against chumps but he was great Light Heavy thats for sure.Quote:

Spinks, Conn, Charles, Moorer, Foster, all good choices, but I gotta go with Archie Moore. Believe he holds the all time KO record.
Canvas, Charles beat him 4 times when Moore was at his best
how did u get his name to flame like that? thats cool ;DQuote:

A great toss up but i also have to go with Charles but Spinks and Moore are very close
Dax Spinks is my number 2 I like him I remember him winning Gold as a 17 year old always been a fan.

Not that I don't think Jones is not an over all great fighter but I more or less count all of Jones achievements...4 division titles ect
I dont know about the jones jr situation..
As far as it goes.. Light heavy lacks legends..
Now thats not bs..Its true..When you think of the legends there have been..They are prime time legends no doubt..But no where near the amount of say welterweights or middlwieghts..
My opinion is..Jones is best at supermiddle.. And a legendary fighter..
He MIGHT..be the best lightheavy..But thats not him at his best.. But the competition at middle and super middle is too steep to just say.. That jones jr is the best middle or supermiddle.. So he is rated higher at light heavy.. Its a strange way of thinking i know..
Bob Foster, Ezzard Charles,Michael Spinks,Virgil Hill,
where dick tiger fabrice tiozzo and dariusz michalczewswski there were good at lght heavy
there are 9 great legends in this weight divisions
the most popular are rjj & billy coon
micheal spinks light hvy opponets wernt the best
rjj the best in his era and had to much of a better boxer than the other light heavy weight also becoming the first undisputed light hvy champ
rjj is the best
If this was the year 2017 people would say Roy Jones, but his legacy is to fresh and many people will give other names. In time RJJ's legend will grow out of hand along with others

I guess your right. The biggest victory was the onslaught of James Toney but that was at 168. I alway's wanted him to fight Jirov and Milecowitz when they were undefeated. You must admit that Montel Griffin was undefeated at his peak when he smashed him.Quote:

CHARLES beat MOORE 3 out of 3 at light heavyweightQuote:

True, Charles beat Moore 3 times, but a lot of guys dodged Moore and he did not get a title shot until he was 39 yrs. old. Moore's record shows that he beat a lot of top ten guys and future hall of famers. Joey Maxim, Nino Valdez, Harold Johnson, Yvon Durrelle, Jimmy Bivins, Teddy Yarosz to name a few. He retired in 1963 with a win over Mike DiBiase at the age of 50. He lost to Cassius Clay at age 49 and retired with an overall record of 183-24-10 with 131 KO's. He fought from 1936 until 1963. Not many guys today have that kind of longevity.
Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore,Bob Foster were all great. Jose Torres wasnt bad either

Double M Michael Moorer
Well who knows. I might be wrong. The signature fight thing might be overrated. Bob Foster doesn't have that many signature fights. Well he does have the Dick Tiger fight. Your exciting fighters have more signature fights. The 80s had alot of signature fights, more than most eras I think, and the 40s.Quote:

I think the Roy/Virgil era is underrated because many people think the opponents they fought were not the level of a guy like Foster. I disagree. Virgil fought Stewart, Czyz,Thomas Hearns, Frank Tate, Tiozzo,Maske,Devalle, Roy Jones,Lalonde,Mormeck and the list goes on and on, Roy Jones Jr. fought Hopkins, James Toney, McCallum,Griffin,Virgil Hill,Devalle,Harding,Tarver,Ruiz, and Glen Johnson. So Virgil and Roy fought every good fighter who came through the light heavyweight division since the late 80s to now.. 20 years of fighters. So they must be good. But somehow Spinks and Charles and Foster control the rankings.
