Mayweather already hinted he will ride his bycicle as usual
I was readin today's newspaper of San Diego Union Tribune (sports section). During an interview Mayweather says that it doesn't matter how he wins the fight but as long as he wins it. It doesn't matter if the crowd think a fight is exciting or not but as long as he gets the win because its not the fans who get in the ring but him. Blah blah blah, he's already hinting he will get on his bycicle and run around.
He does make a point though, a fighter should do whatever it takes to win a fight and even though running around and being gay in the ring will get "booos" from the crowd and lots of angry spectators, it still gets you a win.
Anything can happen this Saturday. I am rooting for Oscar. I am curious to see how Mayweather would talk after the fight if he looses. I remember how I was curious to see the same in Naseem Hamed which was as big mouth as Mayweather. Naz took it pretty well.

He might be right....but if he does that it will do nothing to increase his popularity. That's why in my opinion he is in a lose/lose situation. If he fights smart and keeps his distance and runs....fans will get on him. If he is stupid enough to go toe to toe...he potentially can get hurt. Add the fact that he is already not the most likable fighter...how he fights in this fight will have a huge effect on his popularity for the casual sports fans who wouldn't normally shell out $60 for a fight.

The thing is.. he doesn't run all that much... You look at Leonard or Ali they used way more movement to keep away from an opponent than Mayweather, same with WIllie Pep. Floyd often fights on the inside against an opponent.

I like his attitude.
IMO if you don't appreciate different styles and strategies (including using foot movement), you're watching the wrong fucking sport. I get so sick and tired of people complaining and accusing guys of "running" or being boring. These people who don't understand or appreciate the art of boxing should stick to MMA and Boxing KO videos on Youtube instead.

That would be a terrible thing for boxing. IMO boxing doesn't need to cater to the lowest common denominator like MMA does (people who don't understand the fight game but just want to see blood and violence). I think there are more than enough REAL boxing fans to pay the bills, thats just my opinion though.

Floyd might approach this fight the way he approached the Corrales fight. If he does, it spells "bad news" for Oscar, since he will be starched with jabs and lefhooks whilst stalking Floyd in a flat footed manner around the ring. And in the 10,11 rounds it will be a TKO from a bloodied face.

I wish I could agree with you, I honestly do. But tell me, you are a true boxing fan right? How many PPV events do you get in a year?
Myself I only get 3 or 4 tops.

well yeah i supose he's right about winning the fight one way or another, but at the same time i have heard rumors about a smaller ring, and i dont think even floyd has the ability to run and keep oscar off him for long enough to win the fight. i think oscar will beat him up.
and even if floyd does run on his bike for half the fight oscar cant really say much about it because thats exactly what he did against tito.

Floyd Cant spend the whole fight running or he risking having some ofthe judges side with the aggressor. Even if De la hoya is ineffective in his stalk and swarm method, if floyd offers nothing but slips, a parry and a counter before getting on his bike again... he'll put himself in the doghouse with the judges.

Yeah i agree he has to get inside and land some combos here and there but he must pick his spots carefully. I dont see why people think he should stop and exchange with ODLH because it doesnt give him the best opporunity to win.

Chase him down. Baldomir had the right idea, but he plodded and didn't chase him down fast enough. Don't do a Hagler with Mayweather, do a sprint, chase him down fast like Glenn Johnson did to roy jones. Chase him fast and swarm him constantly.

Yes, Oscar did that but for the last 3 rounds NOT THE WHOLE FIGHT ::**. Floyd does it not only a few rounds per fight but in ALMOST EVERY FIGHT (if not all).

Im not at all surprised. Floyd would be foolish to go in there looking to slug for 12 rounds. Im expecting a decent fight but not all that many fireworks. Floyd will box smart for much of this fight...

I agree that if he goes toe to toe with oscar it will be a more exciting fight and bring more fans back to the sport but then again like he said you have to do what you have to do to win. Personally I didn't think the Baldomire (sp) fight was boring at all I thought it was absolutely perfectl. I mean why would fix something that isn't broken, I mean continue doing what you do best. Thats my opinion and I know allot of people dont agree.

i think floyd will more than likely get on his bike wait for oscar to come forward and counterpunch all night more than likely he'll fight the same sort of style he does in all his fights, i actually think it oculd make the fight exciting as if oscar goes looking we could see some classy boxing from floyd with speed and combinations on the counter and we could see some big hits from oscar. we could possibly get the best of two worlds here. lol i hope!

Anybody that thought PBF would come out and do anything besides ride his bicycle all night is dilusional. Mayweather has been on that bicycle for a few years now, the only way he is getting off of it is if somebody knocks him off (ie KO). This talk of him doing anything else is just talk. I think it could still be a good fight as long as Oscar can trap in a corner or against the ropes a few times a round. IF Oscar can cut the ring off on a regular basis then it will be a better fight. If not then be ready for another Baldomir fight. Where Floyd will pot shot/counter/move. It should be a good fight because Oscar has the best set of boxing mind (Judah has the better skills) that Floyd has faced in a while. Either way I cant wait.
