OSCAR bossed (nearly) every round but Floyd certainly gathered pace late on and boxed very.very cute and snatched the last 3 ALL DAY LONG.
My heart was with the Gold but the better fighter won on the night.

I agree that Floyd is a great boxer and he deserved the win tonight. I don't agree that he is one of the best "fighters" ever - not even close. Marvin Haglar, Tommy Hearns, Aaron Pryors, Benitez are some of the best fighters ever. The best ever were not just great boxers but great fighters. They made fights happen. They didn't wait for openings, they created them. Tonights fight was ok at best.

I feel that Floyd has nothing to offer that can hurt Oscar, so I expect him to figure that out pretty early too and start firing off massive quantities of super fast and accurate punches designed to bemuse Oscar with their sheer volume.
If Floyd can sustain this for seven or more rounds, than I feel that he’s clever enough to win the fight.

I hope they do not rematch this one. Also Floyd showed some experience himself. He was not bullied or overmatched by Oscar's experience. The 10 years he has been defending his titles and winning them showed in this fight. He handle the pressure well and won the fight. That is all you ask of a guy, and he won the fight against a bigger stronger guy. he did it all tonight.. In a rematch I think Floyd would do even better and stop Oscar.

I disagree with this notion that a fighter has to be in a close 'fight/brawl' to become a great, that is bull. That is like saying that Michael Johnson is not the best 200m/400m sprinter ever, because he did not slow down and force himself to dig deep often enough in order to win. Totally stupid logic! ::**
Floyd fights to the best of his ability in every fight and it is not his fault if his opponents can't handle it. He is the best boxer in the world right now because he trains meticulously, has the athletic gifts and boxing brain to overcome intense challenges and because he is just that damn talented. There is no other way to see it. You can question his record all you want, but at the end of the day he is 38-0 and a five weight world champion at the age of 30 who just took down a living legend less than 24 hours ago. His record is as good, if not now better than any of the other pound for pound contenders out there.
Give the man his props!
He is already a great. If he comes back, anyone he defeats from now on will just further cement his legacy. This is all coming from a former neutral by the way, but I'm sold on him now for sure. :)

Floyd should move down to welterweight where he is still too small. Oscar did not have the tools to really beat Floyd, but a guy with a right hand would have hit Floyd last night. I am not saying he would win, but Oscar did not have a right hand. But give Floyd credit, he beat a bigger guy to the punch over and over and that is a tall order. Look what happened when Oscar had to beat a bigger guy, he was stopped with a bodyshot..
Props to you Smashup for giving him his due credit and after this fight i dont think he can be denied the title of P4P best in boxing. I would really love to see him fight Shane and Cotto before he retires.
