MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
Come on even after a VERY controversial win he got battered in the early rounds and why would he retire when there's people out there like:
MOSELY
HATTON
COTTO
MARGARITO
WILLIAMS
To me he's taking the easy option out so he won't get a defeat on his record by any of these guys.

MOSELY-That would be a fight
HATTON-Mayweather is in a different class altogether
COTTO-Would be a decent fight, but I really think PBF would win it comfortably
MARGARITO-Again I think we would be surprised at how comfortable PBF would win
WILLIAMS-Again Mayweathers in a different league

Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
I think the only good fight left for Mayweather is Mosely

I think the best way Floyd could end things is a rematch with DLH and then Mosley. No other fights out there have anything to offer him imo.
-
Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
Oscar was a bigger challenge than any of those and Floyd came out on top.
Williams and Margarito, I'm still not completely sold on them yet... lets see how their fight goes.
Cotto is a class act who is improving all the time, but I think Floyd is a step too far for him right now.
Hatton didn't really cut it at welterweight and I can't see Floyd moving back to 140lbs just to fight him... if he did, I have no doubt he would beat Ricky pretty handily.
Mosley has looked good lately, but not against fighters as skilled as Floyd... I'm not sure he could handle Mayweather at this point. It would probably be the best and hardest fight to call from that list though.

Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
If Judah would win comfortably against Cotto......this is a HUGE if; then a fight there would be worth fighting.
-
Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
I think he should either fight Mosely or just stick to retiring 38-0 5 weight world champ 6 time world champ not alot more he could achieve

Judah again? He was no match for Mayweather first time round. Rematch with DLH, Mosley or stick to retiring imo. He has achieved everything he can. One more fight wont change peoples opinion of him unless it is a real war, and lets be honest that is never gonna happen. It just is'nt Floyds style.
-
Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
I agree that it shouldn't be a fight against Judah. But I was just talkign about the past events, the history, and how that aspect of a fight would make it interesting.

Yeah, zab has said in interviews that he wants a rematch with floyd more than anything because he really feels he can beat him. I'd love to see zab actually make something of himself and come back better then ever, convincingly beat cotto, and then call out floyd.

Just dont see what that fight would have to offer Floyd. Dont think he would ever take it.

Thank God he is retireing , let us speak no more of him

Agreed. It would have to be at 147, tho. And it would NOT be a pretty sight.

Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
I've had enough of people making out like floyd mayweather's the best fighter ever. I'll be honest, im english, before last night i had seen hundereds of clips of Mayweather and thought he was on a different level, its only now i realise that he is not undefeatable, far from it...
In england, only the last couple of fights of mayweather have been showed live on tv, when i watched the oscar de la hoya vs mayweather fight last night i realised that against a fighter who is willing to work hard for the whole 12 rounds and with a decent punch, 'pretty boy' would get knocked out, stone cold. His main strength in my opinion is his defense, he hasen't got great power, his speed and slickness is good, but could be canceled out by a fighter who is not willing to give him any room.
thats all i have to say

No, I have a feeling it isn't. Your last sentence (about a fighter not giving him too much room) sounds suspiciously like a lead-in to an argument for Hatton. If it is, don't even go there.

Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
I think you lot have been fooled by mayweather yesterday,
Please Replay the first four or five rounds, of that fight view clearly when de la hoya charges forward with all guns blazing, mayweather is panicking, his defence is good, but he is panicking he is stepping backward straight into the ropes, as a boxer you never do that you let yourself open to punishment.
De la Hoya lasted to round 12 and some people feel he won the fight, because he took Mayweather out of his comfort zone. Now before we slag off Hatton, lets remind ourself the charging forward style is Hattons Style, i dont think Mayweather would be comfortable with hatton if hatton produced a performance similar to against Kostya Tyzyu.
One thing is absolutely certain, Mayweather DID NOT Damage De La Hoya, he did not win by a Massive Margin, he did not give de la hoya a boxing lesson, it was a fairly even contest, i respect the winner, but i also respect De La Hoya, and No this does not make Mayweather the best ever.
To be the best you have to show a variance in style and deal with different types of fights, ie slugfests, brawls, and show heart, Mayweather won that fight on a very tight string, and he showed very little heart just skills. That does not give u greatness in boxing maybe in Golf, maybe in Soccer but not boxing.

Disagree. Off the ropes Mayweather is second only to TOney.

You just blatantly contradicted yourself.
BTW, the only thing controversial about last night's decision is that it wasn't a WIDE UD.

Re: MAYWEATHER NOT THE BEST......
mosley is probably the only guy that might give mayweather trouble . as for hatton, margarito, williams. he would just own them.
mayweather would just outbox cotto all fight blocking his body shots and left hands

I was wondering the same thing. People really know how to spin the results after they occur.

I agree with this comment completly, Mayweather gets to much credit, he is not 'the best fighter ever' he fights 1 champion at each weight and thinks hes the best at that weight, if he was the true pound for pound king he would fight every real talant of every weight he passes through. i wish he would go back to 140 pounds where hatton could destory him.
