Mayweather EASILY won.
I've seen the fight 3 times now and Mayweather easily won... People who had Dela Hoya ahead are full of shit. You have to be the worst judge ever. At the very least Mayweather won by 4-5 rounds... I had him ahead 8-3-1, and the conqubox would agree with me. He was so much more accurate and made Oscar miss 80% of his punches. He landed the cleaner punches, and he hurt Dela Hoya to the body near the end while Dela Hoya never even phased him. Oscar was a lot better than I expected him to be, but this is the most one sided fight I've seen against him. IMO this solidifies Mayweather as p4p top 3 ever.

He would have won easily on the scorecards if he would have done more earlier in the fight but he was just letting Oscar get off his flurries to slow him down in the latter rounds. I think Floyd won by 2-4 rounds and the judge who had it 115-113 DLH is just crazy.

Did you see him make Oscar look like a fool(at times)? Name one fighter who could have evaded that many fluries of the rope that many times... Mayweather was too bulked up to stay off the ropes all night, and he was dodging 6,7, and 8 punch combinations all night. Thats really hard. Oscar gets credit... Maybe its Roach being a better trainer than Mayweather Sr. or him training harder, but he was way sharper and way faster than he was against Mayorga. Now Mayweather has that "big name" on his record he should easily be top 3 IMO. He has it all, and at very least he is up there with Whitaker as the best defensive fighter ever.

Who landed more punches in almost every round, and though he did hit Oscar gloves quite a few times to Oscar credit, but that could easily be the other 57% of the punches he threw. Mayweather hit him with far cleaner shots, and he hits him with 85 MORE punches while throwing over a hundred less. 85 MORE punches thats almost 75% of the punches Oscar landed. So who's the fucking fan boy now?

I think there were some close rounds that he won, but he just landed so many more punches that it over compensated the few clean shots Oscar actually tagged him with.

Ok now you are talking with a little more sense.
No one can deny that Floyd has a great radar.
No one can deny that he does things that are totally un-orthodoxed when he is on the ropes. He has been able to think outside of box when it comes to maneuvering and he puts his hands up and down in places that a normal fighters don't.
Freddy is a good trainer who can make a fighter a bit more aggresive. Freddy's mantality is border line dirty tactics, quick thinking and some trickery. If you don't understand this then you don't know squat about Freddy.
Floyd is a unique defendive fighter. I will give him that.
But against Oscar De La Hoya, he was unable to do a beat down.
Your earlier claims about Floyd landing all of those punches when in fact they were being blocked, is blind nut hugging or wishful thinking.

He landed what they said he landed... more or less. Same with Oscar. But Oscar also landed a lot of punches that were from angles he couldn't get any leverage so they were meaningless punches. Regardless Mayweather had 85 more punches landed, and that is a very significant number.

Floyd won that fight convincingly. He was facing his heaviest strongest opponent and was made to work, but work he did and finshed a close fight far the stronger down the stretch...

I thought Mayweather won the fight 7 rounds to 5.
I do think that if DLH would have pressed the 10th or the 11th, he would have won the fight. he was not pressing the fight. However, props to Floyd though he did win the fight.

No necesarily... Mosley I, Hopkins, Mosley II... The point is harder punchers who have hit Oscar in the face haven't made him swell up which means a guy like Floyd who doesn't hit that hard likely couldn't do a lot of facial damage to Oscar who is easily to cut, but Floyd's punches connect to solidly they don't general make cuts. Anyways you get the conqu box stats that show exactly which punches Mayweahter landed on, and which he didn't because regardless you will have over 200 punches to choose from that have Mayweather missing a shot... and thats what the stats say.

First of all Mayweather gets cut, bruised easily like against Castillo, Corley, Augustus. I am not saying Oscar didn't catch him with any clean shots... just not that many. I think Mayweather had the much harder task last night... Its way easier to throw punches than to avoid them off the ropes.

did you see how Floyd would open his eyes so big that he looked like he came straight from an anime series and also how he'd damn well nearly shit himself everytime Oscar got him on the ropes, well yea i'm pretty sure you all didn't notice that, the fight was close, and was close enough for there to be a rematch, even more grounds then there was for a Toney/Peter rematch, i had Mayweather win the fight (and i was going for De La Hoya) but i only had him winning 115-114, so don't start with the hype that Mayweather won super easy and he dominated Oscar's ass, Mayweather didn't even back up 1/3 of the shit he talked

When ever I make a video, I have to watch it in slow motion. That is part of the editing process. It's a tedious job but I get a clear perspective while I am working.

OMG OMG OMG. Am I reading this right? Or did I just misinterpret the Subject? OK first off PBF CLEARLY won that fight. But in no way did he win it EASILY. Come on guys. Wake up and smell the roses. It was a very close fight that could have gone either way. If ODLH didnt run out of gas the last 4 rounds it could have been a draw or a ODLH split decision. Saying that PBF won EASILY is over exageration.

I'm glad that you clarified that. I think that Floyd worked very hard for this victory, but I agree, he CLEARLY won. I worked all day and I this is the first thread I've read today, so I don't know how many people are saying it was close. It wasn't. 8-3-1 sounds about right. I could go with 8-4. It would be a huge stretch to say 7-5.
That being said, he ain't top 3 P4P all-time if he retires now. Top 5 P4P guys fight and beat EVERYONE or all most everyone near there weight who matters. ODLH is a big NAME, but let's face it, he is more popular than great. There are better fighters and tougher fights for Floyd right now - Cotto and Mosley. Oscar was and is still a very good fighter, but this is his 5th loss and he's 34. I don't want to take anything away from Floyd, because this win, and the way he won, means a lot to his legacy and it means a lot in terms of making the general public aware of his greatness. It was a masterpiece performance on the biggest stage of his career.
I guess I would like see Floyd KO a top shelf opponent. I would like to see him finish the job against guys I grade above a B-. He hasn't done that since Chico. He clearly beat Judah, Baldy and Oscar, but he couldn't really hurt any of them, other than Judah. His punches, as clear, crisp and quick as they were, rarely bothered Oscar. He couldn't stop Castillo, Chop Chop, or Hernandez.
But that's really nitpicking, I guess. He is clearly the best of this era, unless Shane Mosely can prove me wrong. I will pay to watch him fight as long as he fights, because he just so good, the best I've seen in my adult life (other than espn classic). But no matter how great PBF is, nothing will change the fact that his is one of biggest assholes on the planet and I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire :)

Mayweather didn't win easily...... But he easily won. There's a difference that some people aren't seeming to grasp. It was a tough fight for him, he took some good shots and had to work very hard... But it wasn't difficult to determine that he was the winner..

Mayweather won effectively. Oscar does alot of the same things Sugar Ray Leonard did years ago by trying to win the round with one or two punches at the end of the round. But Ray knew how to do it for the whole fight, every round, and keep the rounds more even- so when he would try to win the round that one punch made a difference in the scoring.

wow i can't believe floyd fans aren't already satisfied with the win floyd got yesterday, why you guys got talk about how it shouldn't have been close ??? it was close only you guys are forcing the thought that it wasn't i guess it is embarrassing for the p4p so called king have such a close fight with an oscar whos not top 20 p4p anymore huh. and all the talk floyd did didn't show at all at fight night.
he was the most defensive challenger I've ever seen, for a suppose p4p king he didn't show shyt but how one hit and out he is and that was pretty much his whole offense at the fight.

no cause i'm not nut hugging anyone here, i had the fight scored as it should have, and nearly the same as the judges did, i still had Mayweather win, just there is no way in gods green earth that he won by 8 or 9 rounds, sorry PBF didn't do that shit, and well i think you got some of Mayweathers milk still on your lip, you might wanna wipe that off ;D

Um so outpunching Oscar almost every round doesn't warant him winning the round because Oscar throws a few flashy, but ultimately meaningless flurries every round. It looks good, but it isn't effective. I agree Oscar caught Mayweather with some nice punches from time to time, but not at the same rate Mayweather was catching him with good clean punches.

And I dont ever want to hear Mayweather uttered in the same breath as Pernell. IMO Pernell did a better job on a prime Oscar while Pernell was past it. From now on whoever thinks Floyd belongs in the same category as sweet pea, SRR, SRL etc. dont know anything, or is just the biggest PBF d-rider.
