Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
Thought I get this thread started as this Wednesdays main event on ESPN is surely to be a thriller sooo I hope.
Both fighters are top contenders and the winner moves on to figh my bwoy! BCD 8) If memory serves me right this fight was suposse to happen sometime back but it was rescheduled I think....
Anyway.... I like what I've seen from Diaconu heavy hands but fights too flat footed at times. Hoye I haven't seen much of him but hes up on the skill dept. a litte more schooled then Diaconu.
So who you picking for this fight?
I didn't find any Hoye videos on YouTube but I did find some on Diaconu.

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
I dunno. I've never seen the Adrian guy and its been sooooooooo long since I seen Hoye fight. Alls I know is that Montell Griffin should have gotten the win over Hoye as should Badi Ajamu. Least thats how I remember it. Since then I guess Hoye has improved and knocked a couple good fighters out. I dunno...its late...this is a new topic...figured I'd add my two cents or less.

Hoye lacks basic fundemental skills , he was dominaited by Clinton Woods .
Did you see that fight Cutme? Woods dominated him from start to finish he was really vulnerable under pressure and can't fight backing up .

I'm banking on the fact that Hoye has learned something in the last 2 years.
Hoye UD (definately without my usual confidence though)

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
Few big bangers develop over time without having at least one hardone on the way back to test himself and get over his demons.
instead Hoye has only fought ( who the ) Sam Hill and Derek Whitley both marking times fights .
My betting is he went back to the gym hit the bag a few times bashed up a few sparring partners and told himself it was just a bad night .
I like the guy he took his defeat with good grace so i wish him all the best .

You could definately be right. That's why I'm not betting real money on this one.

I dunno' I'm leaning a little towards Diaconu, I think he has what it takes to beat Hoye.
I'm trying to get a find some Hoye video/fights but I haven't found any...
Thanks for the input Hulk, Swash & killer. :)

Joe Tessitore was not excited about the fight?
Joe Tessitore was not excited about the fight?
What was he talking about?
The fight was good.
It was a great tactical fight.
How can he say he was not moved by the fight?

Re: Joe Tessitore was not excited about the fight?

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
Rico Hoye sounds like the name of a damn pornstar or a pimp but Diaconu made Rico a fucking ho dude. Very nice, looking forward to seeing more of the dude.

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
I didn't see the thread in time to make my voice heard but I was behind Diaconu. I figured he would stretch Hoye out in under 10.5 and he did.
Earned myself $60,000 in the sportsbook. ;D
I'm usually flushing my funds down the crapper so this feels wonderful

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
I really liked the tribute ESPN did on Diego...
I just finished uploading this Diego 'Chico' Corrales video that was done by ESPN in memory of Diego...
Enjoy!!! :)

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
Daaammmnnnn....Diaconu, knew nothing about him and he came in and KTFO'd him. I thought, looking at his build, that his speed particulary with that straight right hand was exceptional. Can't wait to see more of him.

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
I just finished uploading the fight, here it is...... I hope you enjoy! the fight it was a really good fight and Diaconu showed he belongs.
This win puts him up to possibly face my bwoy! BCDawson in the future....
Still think my bwoy! BCD takes 'em..... So as long as he stays away from Diaconus left hook... :-\
You know your bwoy! Mick pulls threw for you guys.... 8)

Re: Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
I was thinking during the fight that I would pick Chad Dawson over him. Dawson could keep him at bay easily if he stays focused.
It wouldn't be heartwrenching to see BCD get KO'd by Diaconu, who is the real "White Tyson" and not Chagaev.

Re: << ESPN: WNF - Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking?
That fight should have been stopped at the end of the 2nd. Hoye did not even realize the round was over, look at him his corner had to go and retreive him and on the way to the corner he walked back to the center. Didn't pick up on that the first time I don't think I heard the bell either.
That right hand is VERY fast. Had never heard of this guy til today and he disposes of a guy I think I hold in pretty high regard. CC Mick.

Re: Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
Cool Click for the post, Mick my man.
When I watched the fight live I didn't notice Diaconu punch threw the ropes and hit Hoye in the face when he was hanging through them. LOL

Re: Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
WOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!.....Incredible display of an A** WHOOPING! Diacano showed alot energy going into this fight. Rico somewhat looked like he lacked confidence or a bit disdrought when given insrtuctions. Diaconu was very active and was getting inside really good as his perfomance showed. He packs a punch along with a knuckle sandwich cause Rico got tooken to school.......Love to see more of this ADRIAN!

Re: Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
That was a hell of an ass whipping wasn't it?
Hoye just never even got started, plus he kept pulling back with his hands down. It just wasn't his night at all, you could see it in his eyes from the first bell.

Good to hear you enjoyed that...
CC#753....
I thought Hoye would put up a better fight either I was overating Hoye or underating Diaconu. :-\

Oh! and about seeing Diaconu more you will, look for him soon next time you see him he'll be on the canvas as 'Bad' Chad Dawson is standing over him..... :)

Re: Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
Mick, where were you when Dawson fought Harding. I remember that RBR thread, Dawson got trashed for what I thought was a very good performance. I want to see Lacy - Dawson. From what I heard the two clashed a lot in the gym and had some wars in sparring, and Birmingham's commitment to Lacy is what made Dawson ditch him for Floyd Sr (at least I think it was Floyd Sr.) a week out of the Adamek fight.
Any idea on who he is facing next?
-
Re: Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
Diaconu looked to have somewhat good not great defence. His blocking was decent and he looks to have good body control with his bobbin and weavin to get on the inside if not to control a fight. Who knows, only training and time can answer that! Thanx Mick!

I think this fight happened during the time I was on hiatus from Saddo...
But anyway... Heres my thoughts on that fight with Harding....

On a short note, I think it was a good fight Harding dropped him and BCD, IMO possibly came back and either equaled or won that round....
I remember people talking about Harding was gonna run circles around BCD, then the same thing was said when BCD was gonna fight Gardner.

If you click the links you'll also see my thoughts on Lacy-BCD... ;)

Possibly Diaconu....
Wouldn't mind seeing him face Drews, Erdei or the winner of JCGonzalez-Woods

Wednesday Night Fights, Adrian Diaconu
Did anyone see wednesday night fights last night? This light heavyweight Adrian Diaconu (24-0 15 ko's) shows flashes of a young Mike Tyson. It was a bloodfest from the opening bell. The guy never stopped attacking and was landing with deadly accuracy, and against a guy 6 inches taller than him. You don't see too many fights where someone gets hit that hard that often. From what I understand the man he fought (Rico Hoye 20-2) wasn't exactly a punk. Not the best fighter out there but respected. If Chad Dawson sets up a fight with this guy like everyone is saying he will, it has all the ingredients for a violent, bloody brawl.

Re: Adrian Diaconu vs. Rico Hoye - WBC Eliminator, who you picking? (*Full Fight*)
Let us not forget the great Sebastian "The Goatee" Ay. I've only seen him in action twice but I love this kid. He has no facial hair though so I'm confused about his nickname.

Lol , i didnt even realise the round was over .
Diaconu looks promising and it's gonna take a good man to stop him , Hoye's confidence looked shot to shit .
Anyone notice how quickyl AD reset himself when he missed ? Promising .
3 Cheers for CMM , another fight coutersy of the main man !
CC for Mick

Yeah! that was impressive... 1 thing I didn't like was how he kinda went a little crazy and missed like 2 or 3 punches widely... Thats the 1 thing I didn't like it showed he lost composure for a few seconds....

I saw Hoye against Montell Griffin and didn't think he was all that impressive. This guy should beat him(even though I never heard of him) Hoye was knocked out by Clinton Woods right? And I don't think his jaw is that sturdy or his mental makeup can get him through a tough time as evidenced in the Montell Griffin fight(where Griffin was robbed in my opinion)
I wouldn't bet on Hoye anytime soon.
When is this fight happening?
