Re: Julian Jackson, Terry Norris, Tito Trinidad; Floyd Beats Them ALL at 154
you gotta be kidding me. Tito would make Floyd feel Tito's size and strength. But if they were all around Floyd would't fight them. Just like he's retiring and not fighting Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Winky, Mosely, Spinks, Simms, etc.

Just like Tito made Oscar, Winky, and B-Hop feel his size and strength? ::** Tito consistently failed against skilled fighters. Why would it be any different against the MOST skilled fighter?

Trinidad never in his career laid a glove on any skilled fighter that wasn't coming off of a cocaine binge. Before this past Saturday, it was Oscar who according to so many was gonna make Floyd feel his size and strength, and as we all know, Floyd was far from bullied. I must confess, I've only seen a few Julian Jackson fights so I can't comment on that intellegently, as I'm not certain of how good a boxer he was. I do however feel Mayweather-Norris would be a a helluva fight to watch.

Since this is a theoretical topic, Tito would be in his prime. Oscar could of used his strength against Floyd earlier in his carreer, but let's face it, Oscar is well past his prime. Tito would just be too big of a guy against Floyd.

Re: Julian Jackson, Terry Norris, Tito Trinidad; Floyd Beats Them ALL at 154
Trinidad is a head hunter. A head hunter has zero chance against Floyd Mayweather at ANY weight class.

You're missing the point. WHEN IN HIS PRIME, Tito was completely unable to make skilled fighters "feel his size and strength." Tito had a good punch, but he was not a technical virtuoso. Your hard punch doesn't mean shit when you can't land it.

I was impressed by Floyd but not enough to think he could of even beaten the version of Oscar that lost to Mosley at 154.

CC. Exactly. What, Hairdoo, you didn't recognize him? You know, the Oscar that's lost every single fight he's fought against an elite opponent in his prime. That Oscar.

That's not fair he beat Vargas, he got poor decisions against him in his fight against Trinidad, and in his second fight with Mosley... he deserved to win both of those.
-
Re: Julian Jackson, Terry Norris, Tito Trinidad; Floyd Beats Them ALL at 154
I'll give you Trinidad. Disagree that he deserved the W over Mosley. And you can't be serious that Vargas was ever "elite" -- though I give Oscar credit for beating a guy that jacked up on steroids.

The Oscar that fought Mosley at least had a jab. Didn't you notice the round that Oscar just decided to jab Floyd's chest & shoulder? Why did he stop? Could of.. would of.. should of.. bla bla.. kudo's to Floyd for a great win and I agree with the decision, I'm just sore because I lost money ;D
-
Re: Julian Jackson, Terry Norris, Tito Trinidad; Floyd Beats Them ALL at 154
I think Oscar felt he was getting countered too much, and he couldn't catch Mayweather with the jab as much as he was able to catch guys like Mosley with the jab.

Frankly.. I'll be honest as i possibly can be..
Yea my man..Tito looses to floyd..But thats with floyd on his bycicle..no offence to floyd..
And its not a stupid game plan.. but thats what he'd do to beat tito..
Julian jackson is too slow..Unless he were to punch off floyds punches..If he could get a rythym and counter..Then floyd might be in trouble..
Terry norris is probably the fastest and best boxer of your list..Awesome power..I'd very much liked to have seen that fight..
I say he lasts the distance..Probs outpointed..
But the thing is..Theres no definate point to say that floyd has a bad chin..As far as im aware he has a pretty decent chin..
But all you done is listed three legendary light middleweights, jackson a middleweight for a short while..
Who were all famous power punchers.. Knockout artists.. So thats not really the most impressive way to say floyd beats alot of legends at 154..

It would be extremely dumb to see Floyd fight Winky, Winky would embarrass him for 12 rounds. Oh yeah and it would be a BORING FIGHT.
It was also stupid to see Tito fight Winky and Bhop. Same with Oscar and Bhop. So this takes nothing aways from Tito and Oscar, it's unfair to say that.

Re: Julian Jackson, Terry Norris, Tito Trinidad; Floyd Beats Them ALL at 154
Julian Jackson and Terry Norris??.....If they were around and in thier primes PBF would avoid them like the plauge....Though he is not the ontly one....Jackson and Norris were murderer's in their day

I'll give you a take on the fight (from a neutral)
A prime PBF only beat a very far from prime DLH by 2 rounds
Their debut fighting weights (ie their natural frame sizes) was only 2 pounds different
Not really that impressive in that context is it
Save the big gloating for a time when PBF does something exceptional, he was ordinary in this fight and narrowly won
Accept it and move on ;)

CC#755 for the best and most accurate analogy of the whole fight so far...Did Floyd win? YES was he impressive?? NO....but he won none the less...though it was nothing to write home about

Exactamundo & CC Back
I mean DLH had lost 3 of his previous 4 Mosely, Sturm and Hopkins ;) so it aint liek PBF has done anything new ;D
-
Re: Julian Jackson, Terry Norris, Tito Trinidad; Floyd Beats Them ALL at 154
He wouldn't beat Trinidad....I have my doubts about Floyd beating a PRIME top level fighter who was a true 154 pound fighter.
I mean Oscar is 34 and he "lost" a SPLIT DECISION vs a PRIME Floyd Mayweather Jr.....it doesn't speak well of Floyd's talent.
Also methinks Shane Mosely would have torn Floyd's ass up

BigH, I know you're a moderator and all but you're really not doing much to display the fact that you're not very good at hiding your bias against Floyd :-\

Mate you wanna check some of my posts before you make assumptions
A few form the last few days:
"PBF is an all time great"
"PBF is top 20 of time, DLH is top 30 all time"
"Hatton wouldn't last 6 rounds with PBF
"Taylor aint fit to lace PBFs boots"
"No way Pac could ever live with PBF"
....just a few ;)
I have no bias against Floyd or any bias for DLH, I am just discussing the fight and responding to some crap posts. PS the one about DLH losing 3 of the last 4 was tongue in cheek, hence the winks and smiles - ok bruv ;)

The hardest of them all is Tito. By the way, why would Oscar fight Tito now. Tito lost his last fight big time and Oscar is damaged goods really.. What is the point?

Re: Julian Jackson, Terry Norris, Tito Trinidad; Floyd Beats Them ALL at 154
By the way, Oscar talking about fighting Tito is more proof we need another good generation of fighters.. That is a waste of time and money and to me why the sport is not looking so good. We need good fights. I read an article where it says Oscar could have showcased good fighters on his promotion on Sat. but he didn't. I wonder if it is his goal to just keep himself and others in the spotlight to only get him and his buddies big fights.

It's because he's greedy. Having a cheap under card (though the Batista fight was very good) means more money for both Oscar the headlining fighter and Oscar the promoter. I mean, he offered Kassim Ouma $50,000 to fight on that card. ::** All this "GBP is a different kind of promoter" bullshit is just that. Bob Arum's last undercard (JCC Jr. against live competition, Viloria-Sosa AND Arce-Mijares ALL on a Pac undercard) was 10x better and more expensive.
