HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
Imagine THAT 8)
Ricky Hatton has said that his ideal next fight after meeting Jose Luis Castillo would be a "dream" contest against boxing's Golden Boy - Oscar De La Hoya.
The Hitman defends his IBO light welterweight title against Castillo in Las Vegas on June 23 and, assuming he retains his belt, has said he wants his next fight to be held in Britain.
And Hatton claims the ideal opponent would be 34-year-old De La Hoya, who lost his WBC light middleweight title to Floyd Mayweather at the weekend.
"He (De La Hoya) said he'd like to come to England to fight," Hatton said. "He also said one of his goals he wants to achieve is to box in front of the biggest live audience.
"With a fight in England at the new Wembley or the City of Manchester Stadium, you could get that easily.
"Now Oscar's lost it depends on whether he wants to carry on, only he knows that and if he does then he knows where to find us."
Any contest between the two would require one of them to move a weight division - with Hatton claiming that De La Hoya has indicated a willingness to do so.
"Without a doubt it would be a dream. He's not even a modern-day legend, he's a legend with everything he's done," Hatton continued.
"He said he'd be willing to move near the welterweight division in order to do it so...
"Joe Calzaghe got a wonderful crowd in Cardiff against Peter Manfredo, around 35,000. Ricky Hatton against Oscar De La Hoya, I'd be lying if I said we didn't think we could double it."
Hatton has also harboured an ambition to fight Mayweather, who promptly announced his retirement after defeating De La Hoya to seal world titles across five weight divisions.
When asked whether he now sees himself fighting Mayweather, Hatton answered: "That depends on Floyd Mayweather."
According to trainer Billy Graham, victory against Castillo would ensure that Hatton "is the greatest fighter to come out of this country".
And, despite not looking his best in his last two bouts - Hatton nevertheless beating both Juan Urango and Luis Collazo - the 28-year-old reckoned he would offer a better performance against Castillo.
"It's my toughest fight and my biggest fight apart from the Kostya Tszyu," added Hatton, who defeated light welterweight champion Tszyu almost two years ago.
"In the last two fights I was expected to win and maybe took my foot off the gas but I think Castillo will bring out the best in me."

Yeah you know Oscar wont come down lighter than 154 so it would be up to Hatton to come up after him. Which it should be. And it would be sick to see it if it did...but i think Oscar would beat Hatton's ass.
:jabbing:
:knock_out:

Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
Hatton would have no probs getting to Cruiserweight ;D ;D
He probably would lose but he'd go out on his shield for sure ;)
Would be a better fight than the PBF one also with miles more action.

Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
I can't see brawlers giving Oscar trouble. It goes the other way around.
-
Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
8) Ricky Hatton wont make enough weight to fight Oscar just at 147lbs he was in trouble with Collazo who Oscar would wipe out right away! ! ! 8)
-
Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
Hey if you new you were going to make history win/lose or draw and were gauranteed approx. $15mil with little chance of actually winning you'd sign the fight in a heartbeat. ;)

Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM

Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM

most people realize Collazo is a much better fighter that they initially thought. But, ODLH beats Collazo hands down....and He would destroy Hatton...Hatton couldn't bring his power with him to 147...Collazo moved him easy....Hatton couldn't bully his way around at all....he couldn't even phaze Collazo....and Collazo was destroying Hatton at the end....moving up in weight would be a death wish for Hatton....he gets hit far too easily....taylor made for a left hook....

Thats where styles come in my ol friend..
I was meerly mentioning..The way in which even a hurt collazo stayed in with shane.. So he was not indeed wiped away.. And so collazo would not be wiped away..
As styles go..I think hatton would survive a fight with oscar alot worse off..
But just hatton in hisself and alot of his qualities lead me to believe he would last the distance..
It might be an embarrassing distance..But i cant see hatton bieng sparked..

chill out fella, he only mentioned the fight in the same way that oscar mentioned that he would be interested in coming to england to fight ricky hatton. they are professional fighters and that is their job to mention fights that they are interested in, it gets us the fans talking and interested in the match up.

Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
If it happens I got a mexican flag to dust off at home.
Regardless of issues about weight and money, I'm seeing things differently, I see Hatton looking for a big name scalp - someone who doesn't fight a full 3 minutes a round (unlike Hatton) someone who is likely to fade down the stretch (actually they both do that :))

After Saturday, if you did they'd most likely answer 'boxers' ;)

Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
I'm completely sick of this BULLSHIT. Why would Oscar want to come to Wembley fucking stadium to fight the biggest box office draw outside of the USA?
IS THAT THE STUPIDEST QUESTION YOU HAVE EVER FUCKING HEARD?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ??
Wembley stadium holds 90,000 just in the seats. On the gorund i'm sure theyu could fit in another 6-8k so that is a ridiculous amount of revenue. Ricky Hatton is undefeated, he's an all action fighter and will bring a lot of fans. He is the biggest box office draw in Europe. So why oh why would Oscar want to come here? Wow it's pretty easy when you spell it out eh?

Yeah, especially considering what an easy victory it would be for Oscar at welterweight.. Seriously, I don't get how anyone can diss Hatton for saying he want's the fight.. Stupid really, Oscar himself said he'd like to fight Hatton in the UK because he knows it would be a big event he could cash in on big time... And Ricky get's criticism for accepting the challenge? Bullshit is right.
-
Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
Let's be real here. At one point Oscar said he'd give Vargas a rematch, and also said he'd fight Winky Wright. He basically says these things to let potential opponents know he has all the options in the world, while in the mean time he has no intention of ever signing for these fights.

Re: HATTON WANTS OSCAR @ WEMBLEY STADIUM
;D
Hatton's fat little ass must be delusional or something. I doubt Oscar is even remotely interested in fighting Hatton and giving him a big pay day. What would it prove if Oscar beat Hatton? Pretty much nothing. So Hatton thinks he's gonna get Oscar to fight him...in HIS backyard?! ;D ::**
Hatton better focus on my boy Castillo first, seein as he is about to give Hatton all he can handle and more.

The fight is subtitled Warriors/Guerreros, that's got a ring to it, I think it could go down as one of the greatest fights in modern history, they're both going to be dedicating this fight to the memory of Diego Corrales, that is more fuel for the fire. Surely this one will live up to all our expectations.

It's just waiting for it now, that's the hard part, I've got a Cinco De Mayo hangover and with the footy season almost over there's a long wait. I can't believe The Hitman has cut ties with Sky though, could be a good move though if they can get Hennessy promotions with them as well as Maloney, boxing could be getting a much needed boom in the UK, with big money coming in for world title fights and big audiences to watch them on freeview. The added competiton could be enough for Frank Warren to pull his finger out and make some big fights in the UK.

8) Sure it would be good for Hatton as well do you think hes going out there to get his a** whipped for nothing . How much do you think hes going to want out of it for standing in there for a round or two Oscar knows the PPV isnt going to sell out here. 8)
