Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
WBC junior middleweight champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is already talking up a rematch with Oscar De La Hoya. In a recent interview with the Associated Press , Mayweather said a rematch with Oscar would be even better than the original because they can fight toe-to-toe.
Bouts with names like Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito have been thrown around. Mayweather is not interested in any fight, other than a De La Hoya rematch.
I called a rematch when the fight was FIRST announced, there is just too much $$$ to be made and it looks like it'll happen...

Click back brother. Yup,$$$ is al that matters to these businessmen rather than fighting the dangerous fighters.

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
If Floyd had put on a clinic there would be no need for a rematch. But De La Hoya fought a great fight & although I thought Floyd won 115 - 114 (would have been happy with a draw) there are enough questions to warrant a rematch.
Floyd seems to give the fans what they want. When his 1st fight with Castillo called for a rematch he granted it. I see him making one here too. If Floyd leaves without giving Oscar another shot it will affect his legacy. Sorta like Lewis/ V. Klitschko. There were enough questions still left floating after that one. (I think Lewis woulda cleaned him up though if the fight continued)

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
lol floyd is trying to get the public wanting a rematch even more than some already do, what would happen is floyd would walk in knowing what de la hoya would do and school him pretty bad. O0

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
ODLH will win, that way they can have a rubber match called "we make more money in three fights, than most third world countries gross national product"

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
I knew this was going to happen also. Well atleast Floyd wants to give the fans what they want to see. I mean some people have doubt that he won and he wants to squash that, plus like everyone else said he wouldn't even come close to making as much money fighting someone other that De La Hoya. It really is all about the money.

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
A second fight would have PBF winning by a wider margin. I really didnt think there was any controversy about the decision in the first fight. There was some close rounds that could have gone either way. But it wasnt like ODLH dominated PBF or anything. It was a great fight that was close, but I felt Floyd won it with no problems.

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
For what it's worth, there's an article in the NY Post today, where Floyd says the guys who could bring him out of retirement are Tito, Winky, and Cotto.
-
Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
Yeah Mosley turning down the Floyd fight has really stuck with Floyd. The thought of Cotto - Floyd is...well yeah...THAT would be the fight for boxing fans and if Cotto can garner Tito like popularity, that would just be huge.

A rematch would be a good fight, but I think Floyd wins even more handily. No way he goes toe to toe though! ;D

Cotto has some more work to do before he deserves a shot against Maywaether, and beating Zab is a good start, but I think he is still a little green for Mayweather even if he beats Zab easier than Mayweather did.

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
If they do have a rematch I wonder how well it would gross?
I mean now everybody has seen it once and we all now how it would go will people still be prepared to fork out $59 to watch it?
Personally I would absolutely love it if they had a rematch and it totally and utterly flopped with less than 10,000 total PPV buys ;D

Its mental really. PPV can only appeal to the serious fan unless there is the element of crossover appeal. The casual boxing fan will not have been impressed by the fight. I loved it, but I struggle to see a rematch topping the sales that his fight made...

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
8) Its hard to say Del La Hoya will be going for an early KO as well if they go toe to toe all depends on who lands first Del La Hoya can still do that and so can the kid it will be interesting. If its for who is the best and not just the $$$$$ and we no it is. 8)
-
Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
I don't want to see a rematch. It bored me pretty well the first time around.

I doubt it.
Oscar will be WELL aware his stamina problems aren't going away. I highly doubt he gambles and throws everything out early on.
I see a more conservative Oscar leading to an even bigger wipe out Floyd victory.

Re: Floyd:the rematch will be toe to toe (LMFAO)
well we gotta wait for the next BIG MOTHER MEXICAN HOLIDAY since oscar only fights on big mother mexican holidays to exploit his people and let them down :'(

True, but not completely true. Floyd's nose was bleeding when Oscar was hitting him with the jab. Floyd's eyes were a little bit swollen too. After winning the fight, he went on an interview (forget where) and he was seen wearing sunglasses...wasn't that a first for Mayweather?
