Yes your probably right but you never know Marciano was very determined fighter and would never accept defeat there is always a chance of Marciano by ko late but i would say Jones by decision.Quote:

Roy wins. AS would have a younger Ezzard Charles. I really think Marciano is vastly overrated because he was lucky to fight some good fighters when they were way over the hill (Louis, Charles, Walcott, etc.)
Your all tripping, with Roy's chin, against probabley the hardest punching pound for pound fighter that ever lived, if you thought Tarver put Roy down hard, Marciano's right hand might decapitate him :stars:
Thank you.Quote:

.....it really depends on how big the ring is
Roy was hella fast and had great power but Rocky was NEVER hurt much less KO'd....and when you take that into consideration it's hard to have Rocky losing many matches he's almost an American Folk Hero.
Roy was the better technical fighter but no one could match the heart of Rocky Marciano
Roy would dance circles around Rocky. But Rocky was "sneaky quick" with his hands, and all it takes is one from Rocky.
Pick em for me. Ring size, number of rounds, etc, could sway the outcome of this fight.
roy jones would dominate him
roy jones is the greatest fighter ever
also jersey joe wallcott, who is the man, but alot slower then roy jones, outboxed marciano easily
....yup, right up until the time he was knocked out coldQuote:

eventually them shots caught up with him.
now as for roy, he couldnt even take a shot from tarver hu hits no where close to marciano. roy may be good enough to out box marciano but no way would he take marciano's shot, and in a fight you have to give and take shots. marciano would possibly give roy brain damage, rou doesnt have the defensive moves or the chin toney has to fight bigger guys!
The thing with Roy is only one time was he really beaten up the whole fight which was the Johnson fight. Rocky NEVER stopped throwing punches and they all hurt
That's terrible logic, Tarver put roy down hard when Roy was past his prime. Marciano, while he has more power than Tarver, doesn't have the speed or anywhere NEAR the reach that Tarver had. I really don't know how you can compare the two.Quote:

It could go either way....Rocky would be by far the best fighter Roy ever fought....don't know if we can say the same for Rocky as he did fight some greats but they were older....so maybe we can say RJJ would be the best (in his prime) that Rocky ever fought.
Can't blame anyone for choosing either fighter to win this
Roy would get....
Marciano might be the toughest opponent Roy ever fought, but not the best. Bernard Hopkins was a better fighter than Marciano, Toney was a far better boxer than Marciano.Quote:

marciano by late ko
yea--when marciano couldnt see--when he regained his sight it was a different storyQuote:

Past his prime? how do you figure that....he just won the Heavyweight title from Ruiz, two fights earlier, and it wasn't like he ever was in grueling hard fights before, so I don't get past his prime. As for Marciano he had conditioning second to none, freakish strength and bone busting power in both hands, as Jersey Joe Walcott stated " every time he(Marciano) hit you, you had to catch your breath". Thats frightening power my man. Roy might stay away for a few rds, but eventually he would get hit by something big and Roy's chin is soft.....so you do the math.Quote:

Everybody always said this about Marciano, even when he was active ....... too small, no balance, poor technique, short arms, came to the sport too late. BUt he still whacked out nearly everyone he fought, he was like a bigger henry Armstrong - a kamikaze attack backed by the best conditioned body in heavyweight history.Quote:

Mariciano would win easily.
Based on what ?? actually thinking about it i would favor a cut stoppage win for Jones.Quote:

You don't have to sell me on Marciano's power. We all know the Rock hit like a mule. But like someone stated above, Jersey Joe easily outboxed the guy for 13 rounds, and Walcott was a LOT slower than Jones, both in hand and foot speed. I don't think Marciano would be able to land that one knockout shot. Many who were MUCH faster than the Rock have found themselves swinging at air against Jones.

marciano was blind 4 half the fight--when he got his sight back -he won rounds. anyway what good does it do 2 outbox a guy if your gonna get ktfo anyway?
i would want RJJ to win the fight but one thing you wouldn't want to let the rock feel or discovered is that you have a glass joe. once exposed it will just fuel rocky and i doubt rjj is gonna survive relentless attacks from marciano. he doesn't against tarver i just don't feel he has better chance from the rock.
If it were set for 12 rounds, maybe Jones. But set it for 15 rounds and I think Marciano by clean cut knock out. Hell that would be the only way he would win.
As a few people have said earlier. What makes you think Marciano's skin would hold up? That is a big part in this fight. Marciano was good but he stopped fighting right before he would have had to fight guys like Johansen and Patterson. And then Liston. Good fighter and great power, but Jones was a bit too sharp.Quote:

It comes down to conditioning...is Jones fast enough to move and work to keep a constantly pressing, slugging bull like Marciano off him for a full 12 rounds? Probably. Can he do it for 15? Probably not.Quote:

people do with Marciano what they do with Duran. Sort of overrate him.. Duran is overrated at lightweight and Marciano at heavyweight.
