Hey why not? Zab still drops his hands...
lol Zab says nobody ever dominated him...BULLSHIT!! FLOYD MURKED ZAB. But I don't think Cotto will do Zab like Tszyu did him. I see Zab pulling an upset!!
Zab is definitely the underdog in this one but he boxed very well against Floyd Mayweather for the first five rounds of their fight. If he can make that work for him for the entire fight this time, it could be very long night for Migue Cotto. Who knows, Zab still drops his hands but you know what? He can still punch hard too...it is not ridiculous to think that he cannot outbox Cotto like he did Mayweather and set him up for the KO (Cotto's chin has seemed somewhat suspect so far during his career, as he has been dropped by lesser and virtual unknown opponents such as in the Torres fight) somewhere within the first five or six rounds.Quote:

Both of the guys have some question as to their chins. Cotto, though, really has no question as to his heart...this goes as a disadvantage for Zab unfortunately, because you can't say this for him as their has been fights on his resume where he has shown; to be polite, let's say, a lack of enthusiasm for fighting.
The smart pick goes to Cotto by a hair, I think. But Judah has much, much more than just a slim chance of pulling this one out...
I was just saying it's fair for Cotto to think that since...well it's been done before. Personally, I feel it will go to the cards.Quote:

1) Judah was not outboxing Mayweather, it was more of Mayweather sitting back. Judah is a front runner so for 3.5 rounds Mayweather sat back, used a lot of feints and just tried to figure him out. Zab still didn't land anything and didn't look spectacular, it was just a case of Mayweather not doing anything that gave Zab those rounds.
2) Zab is a southpaw but Cotto has the southpaw killer, the left hook. He's powerful and if Cotto puts on the ear muffs and walks Judah down then no doubt, Cotto gets hurt and he might lose. But the Cotto that beat Quintana who was a slick southpaw himself (with much better defense then Zab imo) who throws punches as he moves in and out is an absolute nightmare for Zab. Cotto may not have the best chin but he's fought through getting hurt, something Zab has never done.
3) I think there are more to Zab's struggles then him not being focused. Or maybe it's that his mental state leads to these mistakes but he never progressed. Zab has been at a stalemate since he fought Tszyu. He had progressed nicely and everything but still had prospect tendencies like dropping his hands, looping shots while coming in, backing straight out ect. Well, Tszyu took advantage of it. OK, he was still a bit green. But he has not fixed any of those bad habits, it's like he's still green. He's been given the fight of his life time and time again, and just never learned. I wouldn't have any reason to think any differently of this upcoming fight.
CC Dave, always enjoy your post.
Go COTTO!
I love Cotto but I couldn't understand a word he said. all I made out from his speech was "my power", "Kostya Tszyu", "my fans give support". he should just stick to having an interpreter. as for zab I had lost faith in him a long time ago and cotto is no exception. the only thing to watch for in this fight is how well cotto is going to take zab's punch coz even if he gets rocked he will find a way to finish the fight but once zab gets rocked then it is all downhill for him.
Cotto has been cliped and wobbled a few times now but each time his opponent failed to capitalize.
If Zab also manages to stagger him i don't think Cotto will get off so lightly.
If Zab can do anything he can bang and I think he will be fast for Cotto
Cotto was repeatidly rocked by Ricardo Torres W 31 (27 ko's) | L 1 | D 0 | Total 32 and new WBO Light Welterweight champion.Quote:

Zab Judah was rocked like a mother freckle in the 7th. round against Carlos Manuel Baldomir. W 43 (13 ko's) | L 10 | D 6 | Total 59 He had Judah in emberassing trouble.
Carlos Baldomir could not crack an egg with a 12-Pound Double Faced Sledge Hammer.
Who did Judah blame for losing?
Don King.
LMAO!
Who did Miguel Cotto blame for losing against Torres? Oh yeah, I forgot. Cotto won.
The fight will start in the kiddy pool and little by little Cotto is going to lure Zab into the deep end and then..

Another thing to mention about Cotto is heart. Something I don't think Zab has very much of. Sure Cotto was put down by Torres a couple of times, but he got back up everytime and started kicking ass. Something I haven't seen Zab do when he's in trouble. Once momentum swings away from Zab, he goes down hill. Another characteristic worth mentioning for this fight is focus. The only time I've ever seen Zab truly focused on nothing but the man in front of him was when he rematched spinks. Cotto is always focused on his opponent, I'm willing to bet that he doesn't think about anything else once a fight date has been set. And no one should rule out a repeat of the Tsyu fight. Cotto definitely has the power for that. However Zab does have speed on his side, it's makes for an extremely interesting fight.
Cotto was down once in that fight and he was pulled down.Quote:

It was a great show indeed. 6 out of 7 rounds were 10-8 rounds. You can't find much more action in a fight than that. That fight was the bomb.
Evangelista Cotto was pissed, he kept telling Miguel to stop trading but Cotto went right on trading like he was on Wall Street.
I thought he went down a few times...my bad.
No, but he should have went down a few times. Torres was all over him like white on rice. He threw everything but the kitchen sink at Cotto.Quote:

Torres must have landed at least 20 plus CLEAN power punches to Cotto's jaw and still he could only get Miguel down by pushing him. Other than that, and when Corley shook him, when else has he been hurt? Corley also buzzed Mayweather, more so than any other fighter so that's not too bad. Cotto has shown heart. Determination. Power. And although I miss the old boxer Cotto with much much tighter defence this new-ish Cotto is a force!
I think Zab gets far too much credit for the PBF fight. The two things that helped Zab is PBF did little to nothing the first 4 rounds, and Zab didn't fear PBF's power. I think the first time Zab feels a shot from Cotto he's gonna become defensive. He's getting ko'd. No question in my mind. And Zab doesn't hit nearly as hard as people think he does.
CC! Agreed on every point. Zab has not KO'd anyone of merit except a spent Spinks. And Zab gets WAY to much credit for 3 and a half rounds of Floyd laying back.Quote:

I like Cotto and Im not knocking him, but it's not as if since he dug down and won a firecracker against Torres then it's not fair to give Judah a chance to stop him... Torres is a very limited fighter who has no jab or cross to speak of, and poor finishing ability from what I saw. He hurt Cotto badly several times with tight hooks in close... But then just kept going forward looking to land the same thing, which imo gave Cotto a better chance to recover and fight it out than he would have against many a fighter were he to end up that hurt. No doubt in my mind, that if judah hurts Cotto as badly and as often as Torres did, Zab will either knock him out or the ref will wave it off. Sure since then Cotto has seemingly improved his defence and has more in his arsenal... But Judah has a lot more in his arsenal than Torres. That's all Im saying I guess. Zab can mix up his shots and show different angles, and I would consider him an excellent finisher, though he's hardly proved it on multiple occasions. I couldn't see Cotto being repeatedly put on queer street like he was against Torres and managing to hang on in the same fashion. Judah is too quick and he does know how to put combinations together. This is a real pick em fight for me, each fighter has the style to give each other nightmares. Cotto is easily powerful enough to put Judahs lights out with a good punch, and he is very poised and always attacking. But Judah is very fast and fairly slick, and I think he hits hard enough to badly hurt Cotto. I guess the verdict is still out on Miguels chin. If Cotto takes Judahs best shots early without being rocked, it's over for Zab imo... But who's to really say he can. I definetly expect Judah to land the better punches in the early going... I won't be able to pick a winner until I see the first round, it's that kind of fight.Quote:

The only reason Zab looked so (so called good) against PBF is because the have sparred and PBF coasted but when PBF shifted gears, Zab was being clowned. Watch the over hand right.
