Best of luck Corey Uhh Jermain

Re: Cory Spinks support thread
2 of my favorite fighters in spinks and taylor fighting each other?
reminds me of mayweather vs. judah
i would be happy either way because i can see the future for either guy if they win and it looks good for me on both ends
if jermain wins.........
jermain taylor vs. edison miranda for middleweight supremecy
if spinks wins.........
cory spinks vs. floyd mayweather jr. (he'll come back for a title in his 6th weight class, i can almost guarantee it)
so i guess im kinda pulling for spinks on saturday.
plus i got $20 bucks on cory

This will be a harder fight than most folk anticpate, Spinks is a very slick boxer..... But I have to say Taylor by MD!

i was thinking ud or a late ko for taylor because spinks gets soooo tired at the end of his fights lately and now hes carrying extra weight.
if jermain hangs in there and boxes spinks for the first 6-7 rounds (he'll probably give up 4-5 on the cards) and doesnt use up too much energy, hes probably gonna walk through cory.
hope im wrong, but im usually not :-\

Re: Cory Spinks support thread
I'm rooting for Cory but I think it will be bad for boxing if the world's premier middleweight fails to beat the likable but semi-retarded Spinks.

Re: Cory Spinks support thread
I got this strange feeling Cory might pull off a point victory. But i'm not crazy enough to commit to it ;)

because of the circumstances of the fight being the way they are(champion fighting somebody that hbo knows/hopes has very little chance of winning) and the undercard setting up a classic good guy champion vs. bad guy contender (taylor vs. miranda) huge money fight in the future for hbo, i think that cory would have to win by an almost impossible margin to get the decision
remember delahoya vs. strum and hopkins defending in the main event??
delahoya got owned that fight, but still got the nod and went on to fight bernard
realisticlly, all i could see possibly happening is a huge robbery in favor of jermain tonight
-
Re: Cory Spinks support thread
You have a good point there, it would have to be one sided. The thing is, these are the types of fights where people get complacent (Taylor) and that is dangerous against anyone.Hes seems to be more worried about Miranda than Spinks.

Re: Cory Spinks support thread
Cory is Underrated and has heart, skills and good ring intelligence, for all those who say Cory gasses out your right, but so does Jermain... I just hope the championship rounds arent plagued with inactivity and holding.... I am rooting for Cory and made my pick he will be the New Linear Middleweight Champion of the world... The kid deserves a ton of respect and will go into Taylors backyard and take it >:mad

Yep JT gasses out as in he holds and looks a bit tentative in the last couple rounds. Cory gasses as in he virtually collapses from exhaustion, backpaddles from round 8 onwards and could be knocked out by a slight breeze at that point. From rounds 10 -12 even Sergio Mora could finish him if he landed flush

Lol.. I think if history has shown anything its shown that Corey tends to be on the winning end of bad decisions in my opinion..
Judah and mayorga
i mean i can see why, he has a style in which he makes it plain to see what he is doing right ..
He just has a style where if you try say well..Whos done what this round..You tend to remember what corey has done, you dont forget..
For example..I think it was round ten of judah - spinks.. Judah i had winning the tenth, It was convincing too! and a minute to go he went and turned away to showboat and looked at the crowd and by the time corey had hit judah and started to flurry for about the last 40 seconds of the round then i couldnt see how many judges would score it for judah still..even though i knew myself that he had a good round previous to that

The round when Judah showboated I gave it to Judah because he landed a huge uppercut at the end of that round

I think it's more than fair to say if it goes to the judges history would favour Jermain Taylor to keep his title.
He's harder to win a decision over than a German boxer, fighting in Berlin against a Jew with Adolf Hitler as the only judge.
