He was throwing more than Taylor so you can't say he was'nt throwing punches
But he was missing and running. Taylor was chasing him which in my mind is ring generalship. Spinks was running like a rabbit.Quote:

does not matter if he was runing he did the cleaner work. and boxed very well and won. the name of the game is to not get hit. he made taylor miss the whole night.
rounds
1, spinks
2,spinks
3 taylor
4 spinks
5 taylor
6 taylor
7 taylor
8 spinks
9 spinks
10 spinks
11 spinks
12 draw
and this is kind for taylor
well done spinks you can keep your head up. u won clearer then mayweather did agaisn't oscar.
if mayweather was spinks the fight would have been have went mayweathers way
i wanted spinks to win but he lost and that judge needs help scoring fights. what other fights has he scored.
spinks didn't land alot of shots. he clearly wanted no part of taylor. thats why i didn't understand why taylor didn't jump him. Spinks had almost no answer for taylors righthand. it wasn't a great performance on taylors part but i felt like he landed the cleaner shots more often.
You know I've seen on some websites someone having Spinks winning by 117-111 I think on boxingtalk. So it isn't out of the question
i wish people would stop comparing this to the PBF DLH fight.
PBF was way more accurate than spinks was in his fight. PBF also was landing the harder shots in his fight. plus PBF defense was better.
Looking at the punchstats of that Taylor Spinks fight. I think Spinks landed about 20 or 30 more and Taylor landed about 20 or 30 less(and thats being kind to Taylor)Quote:

And that is way off for those of us who actually watched the fight.Quote:

I really didn't see Taylor landing 101 punches the whole fight. I think he was the one closer to landing 85 and Spinks was the one closer to landing 101.
that is true star it didn't look like taylor landed that many shots. at the same time taylor blocked alot of spinks shots.
I haven't seen the fight but I don't ever put much stock into compubox.
Didn't they say Gatti landed like 40 something punches in the Mayweather fight ;D Come on now, more like 4.
A lot of times I'll see a compubox statistic for a fight and think that it was way off.
yeah but Spinks still landed more then Taylor even if you look at it that way.Quote:

And in a round where I see Spinks land a about 10 punches. 3 to the body 3 jabs and a straight left hand and a combination. Compubox has spinks landing 4 ???
tell that to Taylors eye ;)
Editors Note: George Kimball scored the bout 118-110 for Taylor, Brad Cooney scored the bout 117-111 Spinks, G. Leon scored it 115-113 Spinks.Quote:

anybody have the fight so i can watch it again.
before the fight i thought if it went to the cards spinks would win but get robbed. and thats what happened. but i thought it would not have lasted and was shocked at how frustrated taylor was by the 7th.
i feel if taylor put out more jabs and pressed the fight he would have stopped corey. but then again its very hard when u fight some one like spinks who does not let you get set to throw. he was looking for openings.

He was like "How is this man backing you up!? He has no power come on man!!"
And you know, if Manny felt Taylor was winning he wouldn't have told him "You need this round! You need to knock him out!" or something like that.
You know just thinking about it, even though the last round was even or for Spinks(or close for Taylor if you look at it that way) if that 12th round had gone to Spinks the fight would have been a draw(by the JUDGES scorecards) but I bet Taylor won the 12 on all three..
ONCE AGAIN it comes down to the 12th for Taylor.
i though it was funny when he said thats why you should have fought miranda.
Yeah, he knew what was up. And HBO expects us to actually believe Taylor landed 101 punches ??? He landed maybe about 70 IF EVEN THAT!Quote:

Once he realised he wasn't gonna knockout Spinks with one shot, or at all for that matter. I think he got discouraged.
guys i dont care what the judges say watch the fight again and see for your self spinks won.
i don't dislike taylor or like him. but he has be given wins when he has lost. this is the 4th time.
it will kill the sport of boxing if this stuff keeps happening.
taylor should have jump on spinks like Judah did. judah boxed but stay in spinks face at the same time.
I think one of the main reasons Judah could do that was because he was a southpaw and also had great foot speed and hand speed. Taylor doesn't have the footwork Judah does which is why he looked so off balance and missed.Quote:

Lennox pointed this out against Wright.
thats a good point. Taylor footwork isn't the greatest.
and thats why he can't rush in like Judah did against Spinks. You noticed when he tried he got countered with a right jab. And the one time he got countered with a Spinks right hook it knocked him halfway across the right because of his balance.Quote:

judah is also faster then taylor and thats the reasoning behind his win over spinks
sorry i didn't see your posts :-\
its ok :)Quote:

That's because he looked for that opening and threw it one at a time. Anytime he just went after Spinks he missed. He waited and waited for a one opening to hit Spinks with his right hand. And like I said when he finally got it, Spinks could take it. I think that discouraged Taylor. He didn't want to risk going in and landing one shot and risking getting hit with the combinations he was if that one shot he threw wasn't gpnna knockout SpinksQuote:

Taylor looked terrible.
I was giving Taylor rounds just on aggression, because he was the only one going forward, Spinks would go forward to punch then right back on his heels. The out put was low on both sides...there were a few close rounds but, I never had the feeling Taylor was hurt. Spinks looked a little wobbled a few times. I was real close but Taylor eeeked it on power shots, Spinks landed a total of 84 punches and Taylor was around 120 I think.....total snoozer if you ask me.
if u watch the fight spinks was in and out. he landed more then taylor.
spinks won
